Chapter 5 ~ The Science of Cold Readings

Cold readings and all the little tricks behind them is what fuels 99.9% of all psychics and mediums especially if they're doing large readings. Incidentally, some of them even do these tricks during one-on-one readings.

A cold reading is the process where the cold reader gets all the information they need or at least enough knowledge that'll let them to fill in the details. Subsequently, this allows them to trick a person into thinking that they have information on them that only a psychic/medium could know. That makes them good at being able to fake things.

This is how it's done. The cold reader must possess the ability to ask many questions that are broad but can be narrowed down to specifics when necessary. The cold reader is usually an extrovert. They have a very likable personality. They are self-assured, confident, stylish, and charismatic. The cold reader has the ability to distract the person being read, in carnival terms, the mark. Your average cold reader possesses a high EQ [emotional intelligence], coupled with the ability to appear empathetic to other people's emotions. In fact, the cold reader can appear quite the opposite when they become teary-eyed. Also, they take general information into account:

~ Body language

~ Age

~ Gender

~ Their dress code: business attire, sportswear, slutty, rocker, etc.?

~ Religion – crosses, Star of David, prayer beads

~ Race/ethnicity

~ Sexual orientation

All of these points can help a reader fill in a complex and seemingly complete reading.

The larger the crowd the better. The odds are more in their favor as the cold reader can safely use more general questions.

For example, the cold reader might say:

~ Who on this side of the audience has lost a child or maybe a grandchild?

You know that's going to get reactions, allowing the cold reader to note those that respond. The cold reader might select a person to read. Or they might want to be more sure of selecting a mark that'll put on a good show.

EVP's and ITC Devices. Dangerous....

Hello my para beauties. I hope you enjoyed your weekend and everyone you love is healthy. It's nice to have Spring/Summer upon us. The weather in many places this winter was brutal. I pray everyone is safe and didn't suffer badly. I'm loving the time change. I can never adjust to it being dark at 6 pm. I hate it. Lol. It completely throws me off as well as others who hate it. Grrrr.

I know back in September 2013 I wrote about EVP's and I feel the need to discuss this again along with ITC (Instrumental Trans Communication) devices. Kids between the ages of 9 and up are asking for recorders and ghost boxes to do their own EVP's and investigations. I know of 6 children here all under 13 were given digital recorders, ghost boxes, Ovilus etc...I can't imagine why anyone would allow a precious child risk the many dangers. That is too young for them to fathom and understand the risks. I know these parents truly feel there is no harm. I'm certainly fully aware it is a innocent act.

It's just my humble opinion on the subject of EVP's and ITC devices. I've witnessed many good people suffer the consequences from a unhealthy obsession wanting " to just see what is around". I pray before each one I have to do for a case or investigation however, that is the only time I resort to EVP's. I'm aware this subject has been discussed and many feel they are harmless. Maybe these cases I speak of just had bad luck but it's no different than attempting communication via ouija board or automatic writing. Just because you left a location with nothing going wrong doesn't mean all is well. Demons are very patient and very dangerous once you have their attention. This is pure evil, why would anyone risk this? I had a case where said person was constantly doing these. She lost her friends and some family as she only seemed to care about was doing EVP's. At that point she could not bathe. She refused further help. Family and friends no longer can even reach her. She disconnected her phone and uses only a PO Box. 

My point is use these things with caution if you must use them.

What is Demonic Collusion?

"...so that we might not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs." (2 Corinthians 2:11)

COLLUSION--secret cooperation for an illegal or dishonest purpose. (Webster's Dictionary)

"Error, indeed, is never set forth in its naked deformity, lest, being thus exposed, it should at once be detected. But it is craftily decked out in an attractive dress, so as, by its outward form, to make it appear to the inexperienced (ridiculous as the expression may seem) more true than truth itself." (Irenaeus,  Against Heresies 1.2)

Corruptio optimi pessimum est (the corruption of the best is the worst).

As I was sitting and watching, a strong wave of panic rushed over me...I was watching last week's Ghost Adventures in which a young man dressed up as Satan began to read Satanic incantations (this was part of a Halloween factory they were investigating), BUT thankfully, they put a strong warning on the screen and muted his words entirely.These guys are known for doing whatever they can to stir the "hornet's nest" but I was petrified that millions of people were going to hear stuff they really, really do NOT need to hear. So, my hat goes off to the GA trio for making a very wise choice in this matter. Did you also notice the adult content warning at the outset? Good for them.

As many of you know, the TV show which follows GA is the Dead Files. My forte is not that of an investigative reporter, in which Amy's credentials are put under scrutiny. Kirby does that exceptionally well, so my focus is elsewhere. In the text quoted above, we are told that we need--like Paul--to be aware of Satan's schemes...the way he operates. We must be aware, acutely aware, of certain diabolical strategies which are used over and over.

COLLUSION--is one such strategy which we must be aware of so that we are not misled by Satan's deceptions. It is defined as, "Secret cooperation for an illegal or dishonest purpose." (Webster) Forgive the repetition regarding the Dead Files, but I personally think it is THE show which most clearly showcases this particular diabolical scheme.

Suppose there was a car accident which four different individuals were eyewitnesses to....all from different angles. Let me ask this--what would you think if all four eyewitnesses agreed on EVERY single detail, in their reports to the police? They even used the exact same words to describe certain details of the accident. There would be something fishy about that, wouldn't there? The investigating officer might begin to wonder how much they had talked afterwards...and tried to make their stories sound alike. This certainly happens in other scenarios, and too much agreement can be as problematic as too little agreement amongst witnesses.When there is intentional behind the scene working to make stories line up with each other, it is known as collusion. People can be very creative in how they do this in order to haul in some cash. However, the true masters of collusion are Satan and his band of demons.

And as I have alluded to before, I do not know of a TV show which showcases this diabolical collusion more masterfully than the Dead Files. The result is a very, very convincing deception, which looks "truer than the truth." (Irenaeus) Please bear with me on this, because I well remember how deeply troubling it was for me when I first encountered demonic collusion of this kind. It almost threatened to overcome what I knew to be absolute verity/truth. I NEVER want to lose my sensitivity to what seekers experience when they are overcome with dizzying displays of complex collusion, as witnessed on the Dead Files. Feel free to disagree, but I am convinced that there is an immense amount of serious demonic scheming and activity going on during this show.

If you have the potential to deceive millions, then one would expect there to be exceptional demonic strategizing. This past week was no exception. Sure the producers cut and paste between Amy and Steve, but there is ALWAYS a string of scenes where both are coming to the exact same conclusion, "independently" of each other regarding a remarkable array of historical detail.However, the sad fact is that this former homicide detective is being "collusively played" just as much as his partner, Amy.The net result is that, unless you are experienced at spotting collusion, it will deceive you--it is perhaps the most effective diabolical lying strategy being employed against us.It is simply organized lying to accomplish a larger goal.

Once they have come to the reveal, then collusion has everyone in its infernal grip. Of course it is Aunt Hilda making all the ruckus...they even have an independent artist sketch of her! And by then it is impossible to accurately identify the true culprits (demons) because, unless it serves some purpose to self--reveal their demonic identity, then they will conceal it most of the time.

BTW, it was sad that, starting from herself (not dependent upon divine revelation) Amy came to the conclusion that the folks should move because she had no idea who shadow people were--only that they were powerful and dangerous--and she had no success in getting rid of them. The reality is these shadow entities are demonic, and are quite common, contrary to what Amy says regarding their rarity.

In closing, my advice is to keep your eyes open to the potential of demonic collusion, so that we might be equipped to effectively overcome our Adversary.

Addendum--one strong piece of evidence of the reliability of the eyewitness accounts of the gospels is the manifestly obvious lack of any collusion between Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Ghosts are Residual Energies -- Not People

What people refer to as “ghosts” I call residual energy or if interactive, a type of demon. While the appearance may resemble a person who lived, the residual energy has more in common with a photograph or a video. Just as a photo is not the person, neither is the “ghost”/residual energy.

These residual energies, for a while, can attract other supernatural creatures, which I refer to as demons. Their whole purpose is to mislead you from the truth and down a path of destruction.

Ask yourself, why aren’t there any hauntings from societies we no longer remember? Why aren’t there tons of Roman soldiers or ancient Hitites? Why aren’t Italy or Greece the most haunted places per square foot?

Because these residual energies do not last forever. 

Just like photos, they fade and disintegrate. The evil demons that nurture or mimic them, move on to stronger residual energies.

Demons roam the earth looking for those they can destroy/mislead.

While listening to EVP’s is fascinating, it will never reveal more about the paranormal. Why?

Because these demons have zero interest in revealing the truth. The truth is already readily available in the Holy Scriptures.

If more people relied on the truth, once they realized a demon was present, they would bind them and drive them away.

Many paranormal investigators have had demons follow them home. They then realize maybe they are playing with fire. Entities are not harmless and are not toys.

What are residual energies?

We know thoughts are measurable energy. We were told thousands of years ago in the Scripture that our words are powerful. Every word starts out as a thought first. Therefore thoughts are powerful, too.

Thoughts can be measured by MRI’s and other types of brain scans. If we can measure the energy we can record it. That means there is a permanent record of that thought.

If scientists can now prove what the Holy Scriptures have said (before it was provable), then we can see how strong emotions or repetitious actions can “burn” or record in time and place, a record of an event. This is all these residual energies are.

I watched an episode of The Neighbors last night. The alien dad was talking into an etch a sketch, expecting to get an answer, like you can with certain phone aps. This is what it is like when investigators try to talk to a “haunting.” Now because demons are attracted to these energies, if you get an answer, you have a demon. In that case, you need to get it removed.

The Dalai Lama Talks Pot, Facebook and the Pope With TIME

Ahead of a lengthy two-week tour of the U.S. west coast, the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader, spoke with TIME religion reporter Elizabeth Dias during a wide-ranging, 40-minute interview in Washington D.C. on Wednesday. He weighed in on the moral challenges that face U.S. foreign policy, the threat of climate change and the importance of healthy relations between China, the land of his birth, and India, the country which has given him a home in exile for over half a century. Though the 78-year-old Dalai Lama is routinely vilified by officials in Beijing, he had some warm words for China’s new President Xi Jinping. Below are excerpts from the conversation:

Tibetan freedom was once a major cause in the U.S., but today it gets very little attention. Was it a fad here?
Any sort of problem, initially, is something fresh. Then time passes … I feel the Tibetan issue, comparatively, remains quite strong everywhere.

Has the U.S. backed away from addressing human rights issues in China because Beijing is a more important economic power?
No, I don’t think so … Freedom, democracy, justice, these are American principles. [For] some people, the economy is more important … That’s a mistake. Look at Africa, Syria. Because of lack of moral principle, human life becomes worthless. Moral principle, truthfulness, is a key factor. If we lose that, then there is no future.

What global issues do you think the U.S. could be paying more attention to?
Ecology. The East Coast of the United States has now unusual snow these days. Then in England and India also, the climate pattern is changing. Some scientists believe climate change is the cause of unprecedented melting of the North Pole, and that effects these very uncertain weather patterns. I think we should listen to those scientists and experts.

Do Facebook and Twitter help or hurt our happiness?
It depends on how you use them. If the person, himself or herself, has a certain inner strength, a certain confidence, then it is no problem. But if an individual’s mind is weak, then there is more confusion. You can’t blame technology. It depends on the user of the technology.

You support the use of medical marijuana. Have you ever smoked pot?
No. Never. These kinds of substances are generally considered poison, very bad. But for particular illnesses, this is sometimes deliberately used. So that’s up to the doctor, or up to scientists. The ability to judge reality is something very unique. Our brain is something very special. So if that is damaged, that’s awful. So alcohol and drugs are very bad.

What do you think Pope Francis and the Catholic Church can learn from Buddhism’s view of women?
Generally speaking, each one should follow their traditional way, [but] sometimes we have to judge according to a new reality. For example, female rights are very important. His Holiness, the Pope, I think is very, very realistic and quite strict. I really ­admired his dismissing one German bishop [who was living] his own private life in a very sort of expensive, luxurious [way].

What would you say to a Tibetan protester who is on the verge of sacrificing himself through self-immolation?
Firstly, this is very, very sad. Human life is very, very precious. This is very, very sensitive political issue. Whatever I say the Chinese hardliners always manipulate. And then, I also retired [several years ago] from political responsibility. So the best thing is to keep quiet.

Do you think the India-China rivalry is a good thing for Asia, and is it good for the cause of the Tibetans?
Not at all. Genuine good relations based on mutual trust [could] really make a significant contribution to economic development, as well as to education and spirituality. So there is a real room to develop trust between India and China.

What do you make of China’s new president, Xi Jinping?
He is courageously tackling corruption, quite effectively. Fearlessly. [But] real development must take place in rural areas. It is not a solution to build new, big cities. [Also] 1.3 billion Chinese people have every right to know reality … Censorship is an unrealistic method that actually develops distrust and suspicion. The Chinese judicial system must be lifted up to the international standard of judiciary systems. Then these 1 billion poor people can have some kind of protection.
