Issue 52 – Penn State, Predators & Prayers!

By Kirby Robinson

WORLDWIDE PRAYER CIRCLE RETURNS ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4!

Back in 2009 on MySpace [you remember that social website?!] we ran a weekly Worldwide Prayer Circle. People from all over the world, and from all faiths, posted their prayers. Now, every Sunday, anyone can post their prayer needs no matter how great or small. This is for you, your friends, family—anyone. Let's bring glory to the powers of peace, love, faith and compassion to all.

Will be relaunching the circle next Sunday and every Sunday to follow.

PSYCHIC KID PREDATORS’ EXPOSED - INTRODUCTION

For the next several weeks we'll focus on the predators that operated or worked behind the scenes on the program and Facebook pages supporting Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal.

One would have to be stuffed deep into the sand not to have heard of the child sexual abuse scandal at Penn State University. They run one of the great football programs and this fine university was brought to its knees and its reputation forever tarnished by the work of a predator who fed off the trust of others to abuse children and raise money for a charity that he used to supply him with more victims. His status in the Penn State football program blinded people to his actions and he used the program to cover up his misdeeds when he was caught.

The same thing has been happening and continues to happen through various pages that are used to focus people's attention towards Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal and the various para-celebs that were featured on it. Predators come in many shape and sizes, and they feed off people in many ways. You can have:

1 Profit Predators. These are the people who want to take people's money. As they pretend to be light workers, they blind people to their dark side.

2 Spirit Predators. These people have their own spiritual agenda but they know to sell it to others they must wrap it up and dress it up to fool people into buying their message.

3 Fame Predators. Whatever it takes to be famous these people will do.

4 Narcissistic Predators. These people want to be worshipped. They convince their victims that they have a gift and they are the way to open that gift. This leads others to blindly follow.

But none of these predators could operate without having a support staff of enablers, a/k/a blind followers, who are happy to do the bidding of the predators just to share in the limelight [and quite possibly to fulfill their predatory needs as well].

Next week we'll start exposing how these predators operate. Names will be named and secrets will be exposed. One note: before any of these predators start contacting their lawyers not once have I called them sexual predators.

Countering Stress and Depression

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

At a fundamental level, as human beings, we are all the same; each one of us aspires to happiness and each one of us does not wish to suffer. This is why, whenever I have the opportunity, I try to draw people's attention to what as members of the human family we have in common and the deeply interconnected nature of our existence and welfare.

Today, there is increasing recognition, as well as a growing body of scientific evidence, that confirms the close connection between our own states of mind and our happiness. On the one hand, many of us live in societies that are very developed materially, yet among us are many people who are not very happy. Just underneath the beautiful surface of affluence there is a kind of mental unrest, leading to frustration, unnecessary quarrels, reliance on drugs or alcohol, and in the worst case, suicide. There is no guarantee that wealth alone can give you the joy or fulfilment that you seek. The same can be said of your friends too. When you are in an intense state of anger or hatred, even a very close friend appears to you as somehow frosty, or cold, distant, and annoying.

However, as human beings we are gifted with this wonderful human intelligence. Besides that, all human beings have the capacity to be very determined and to direct that strong sense of determination in whatever direction they like. So long as we remember that we have this marvellous gift of human intelligence and a capacity to develop determination and use it in positive ways, we will preserve our underlying mental health. Realizing we have this great human potential gives us a fundamental strength. This recognition can act as a mechanism that enables us to deal with any difficulty, no matter what situation we are facing, without losing hope or sinking into feelings of low self-esteem.

I write this as someone who lost his freedom at the age of 16, then lost his country at the age of 24. Consequently, I have lived in exile for more than 50 years during which we Tibetans have dedicated ourselves to keeping the Tibetan identity alive and preserving our culture and values. On most days the news from Tibet is heartbreaking, and yet none of these challenges gives

grounds for giving up. One of the approaches that I personally find useful is to cultivate the thought: If the situation or problem is such that it can be remedied, then there is no need to worry about it. In other words, if there is a solution or a way out of the difficulty, you do not need to be overwhelmed by it. The appropriate action is to seek its solution. Then it is clearly more sensible to spend your energy focussing on the solution rather than worrying about the problem. Alternatively, if there is no solution, no possibility of resolution, then there is also no point in being worried about it, because you cannot do anything about it anyway. In that case, the sooner you accept this fact, the easier it will be for you. This formula, of course, implies directly confronting the problem and taking a realistic view. Otherwise you will be unable to find out whether or not there is a resolution to the problem.

Taking a realistic view and cultivating a proper motivation can also shield you against feelings of fear and anxiety. If you develop a pure and sincere motivation, if you are motivated by a wish to help on the basis of kindness, compassion, and respect, then you can carry on any kind of work, in any field, and function more effectively with less fear or worry, not being afraid of what others think or whether you ultimately will be successful in reaching your goal. Even if you fail to achieve your goal, you can feel good about having made the effort. But with a bad motivation, people can praise you or you can achieve goals, but you still will not be happy.

Again, we may sometimes feel that our whole lives are unsatisfactory, we feel on the point of being overwhelmed by the difficulties that confront us. This happens to us all in varying degrees from time to time. When this occurs, it is vital that we make every effort to find a way of lifting our spirits. We can do this by recollecting our good fortune. We may, for example, be loved by someone; we may have certain talents; we may have received a good education; we may have our basic needs provided for - food to eat, clothes to wear, somewhere to live - we may have performed certain altruistic deeds in the past. We must take into consideration even the slightest positive aspect of our lives. For if we fail to find some way of uplifting ourselves, there is every danger of sinking further into our sense of powerlessness. This can lead us to believe that we have no capacity for doing good whatsoever. Thus we create the conditions of despair itself.

As a Buddhist monk I have learned that what principally upsets our inner peace is what we call disturbing emotions.  All those thoughts, emotions, and mental events which reflect a negative or uncompassionate state of mind inevitably undermine our experience of inner peace. All our negative thoughts and emotions - such as hatred, anger, pride, lust, greed, envy, and so on - are considered to be sources of difficulty, to be disturbing. Negative thoughts and emotions are what obstruct our most basic aspiration - to be happy and to avoid suffering. When we act under their influence, we become oblivious to the impact our actions have on others: they are thus the cause of our destructive behaviour both toward others and to ourselves. Murder, scandal, and deceit all have their origin in disturbing emotions.

This inevitably gives rise to the question - can we train the mind? There are many methods by which to do this. Among these, in the Buddhist tradition, is a special instruction called mind training, which focuses on cultivating concern for others and turning adversity to advantage. It is this pattern of thought, transforming problems into happiness that has enabled the Tibetan people to maintain their dignity and spirit in the face of great difficulties. Indeed I have found this advice of great practical benefit in my own life.

A great Tibetan teacher of mind training once remarked that one of the mind’s most marvellous qualities is that it can be transformed. I have no doubt that those who attempt to transform their minds, overcome their disturbing emotions and achieve a sense of inner peace, will, over a period of time, notice a change in their mental attitudes and responses to people and events. Their minds will become more disciplined and positive. And I am sure they will find their own sense of happiness grow as they contribute to the greater happiness of others. I offer my prayers that everyone who makes this their goal will be blessed with success.

How do we know what is a GHOST? Are they Paranormal?

By Martha Hazzard-Decker

How do we know what is a ghost? Are they paranormal? This is a question that has most likely been asked for hundreds if not thousands of years. There are many different beliefs that can be found in a myriad of cultures. Some cultures view ghosts as a bad thing while others embrace ghosts. Many books have been written about ghosts from quite a few different viewpoints.

This discussion may last as long as humans can communicate or maybe one day the discussion will be settled with a definitive answer. There are vast numbers of individuals seeking such answers through research even though some individuals believe they already know the answer. For many the answers come from their culture or faith and believe as they do because this is what they were taught. Some thoughts have been that ghosts are not really ghosts but beings in another dimension and possibly a worm hole of sorts briefly opened and those beings or a look into that dimension becomes possible. Some may even think ghosts are not ghosts but beings from outer space. Then there are those too afraid to even discuss the thought of ghosts because their faith has taught them that all ghost are evil, occult and of the devil.

East Texas Paranormal (ETP) once had a case they shared with another group due to distance. This was a good case of paranormal unity between groups that led to help for a family who had never thought of the possibility of dealing with the unknown. Their entire family is Church of Christ and Sally (name of the client was changed to protect her and her family) called in frantic need of help not knowing what to do because what she claimed was happening to her family was shaking their belief system to its core. Some of the family members were so stringent in their beliefs that they think Catholics are still going to hell. Sally was advised she was talking to someone of the Catholic faith and that was fine by her, but she would not tell her family. Her claim was that something was attacking her young son and following him everywhere. She said doors would open and close for him as he entered and left a room. She said furniture would be moved around in him room and even in an entire house. He, we’ll call him Jason, went to stay with other family members during this time and Sally said it followed him there and now other family members were involved and witnessing strange events. Sally called and wanted immediate relief over the phone and to know what was happening. She learned that it doesn’t happen that way and someone could come to her home to help. Another group was contacted to help and help they did. Things quieted down around the households after several visits from the paranormal group. What was there? ETP and the other group are not sure, neither is Sally. Did it shake her families’ beliefs? You bet it did. They are still strong in their faith but was it a ghost? That is still unknown. Are there unexplained events occurring in the house? Yes they are and both groups are still in contact with Sally and will remain that way as long as needed. Unexplained events are ignored most of the time and no one in the family seeks counsel with whatever is there.

Another Eye on the Paranormal article Fraud or Fake gives some ideas on how not to be taken advantage of when seeking help from the paranormal community. Now, back to the main topic of what is a ghost. A search on Google will give you 457,000,000 results you can go through and read from now until the day you die. Many are fascinating while others seem just plain crazy. The difficult task would be learning to discern what is legitimate and what is not.

According to one entry in Wikipedia a ghost is described as, “In traditional belief and fiction, a ghost is the soul or spirit of a deceased person or animal that can appear, in visible form or other manifestation, to the living. Descriptions of the apparition of ghosts vary widely from an invisible presence to translucent or barely visible wispy shapes, to realistic, life-like visions. The deliberate attempt to contact the spirit of a deceased person is known as necromancy, or in spiritism as a séance. The belief in manifestations of the spirits of the dead is widespread, dating back to animism or ancestor worship in pre-literate cultures. Certain religious practices—funeral rites, exorcisms, and some practices of spiritualism and ritual magic—are specifically designed to appease the spirits of the dead. Ghosts are generally described as solitary essences that haunt particular locations, objects, or people they were associated with in life, though stories of the phantom armies, ghost trains, phantom ships, and even ghost animals have also been recounted.”

Merrian-Webster describes ghost as, “:the seat of life or intelligence: soul [give up the ghost]
2: a disembodied soul; especially : the soul of a dead person believed to be an inhabitant of the unseen world or to appear to the living in bodily likeness
3: spirit, demon
4a : a faint shadowy trace [a ghost of a smile]
b : the least bit [not a ghost of a chance]
5: a false image in a photographic negative or on a television screen caused especially by reflection
6: one who ghostwrites
7: a red blood cell that has lost its hemoglobin
--ghost-like adjective
--ghosty adjective

About.com has a description under Paranormal Phenomena that describes a ghost as, “A ghost - or spirit or apparition - is the energy, soul or personality of a person who has died and has somehow gotten stuck between this plane of existence and the next. Most researchers believe that these spirits do not know they are dead. Very often they have died under traumatic, unusual or highly emotional circumstances. Ghosts can be perceived by the living in a number of ways: through sight (apparitions), sound (voices), smell (fragrances and odors), touch - and sometimes they can just be sensed.”

Ghosts of Earth partially describe them as, “Ghosts are generally thought of as the apparition ( the appearance of) or spirit of someone or some thing that is no longer living. Many theorize that a ghost is simply caught between the world of the living and the afterlife. Possibly confused about their own death. This is why many people believe that ghosts are often found in places of terrible tragedy and sudden death.”

Jason Sullivan explains What is a ghost on YouTube in a nine minute video. This is another place to observe many explanations of ghosts.  So are you still confused as to what is a ghost? Aren’t most of us!

Is there something about the paranormal you would like to see in an article? Whether it is something from within the paranormal community or of the unexplained it could be viable as an article. Contact the author with your idea and it may be the next topic of discussion. In the meantime the author wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

The Paranormal Christian - Deceptive Doctrines of the Occult

By Dr. Michael Frisbee, DD/DM

Over the last 30 years, the Occult has been injecting itself and its deceptive doctrines into the paranormal field, spiritual warfare and demonology.  This presents a dangerous situation for people seeking information and education as a demonologist or paranormal investigator.  Considering it is the spiritual that is being sought and hunted, one would think that people would give higher credence to the one true source of the spiritual, our Heavenly Father.

Unfortunately, they do not.  The Bible is given almost no consideration, the only true source of knowledge that directly relates to the spiritual.    It teaches us of the spiritual war all around us (Ephesians 6:10-20), it teaches us of the gifts of the Holy Spirit to be used in this battle (1 Corinthians 12:1-11).  It speaks in volumes of Jesus Christ’s ministry in the Gospels and Epistles of the Bible, outlining the spiritual ministry He presented.

The occult HATES anything to do with Jesus Christ, the Bible, and God.  They often mimick and twist, defile and mock, that which they hate so much, all to try to bring Man into bondage to Satan, instead of being free in Christ.  One of these mimicries of God’s creations, the inerrant Word of God, is the Book of Enoch.

The Book of Enoch is considered by those ignorant of the scriptures and invested in the occult, as being a lost book of the Bible.  This is of course a lie.  It outlines what is claimed to be the words of Enoch, descendant of Adam, talking about many mysteries, of the fallen angels that had become demons, the names of demons and of angels, etc.  However, there are many, many problems with the Book of Enoch, in fact, only one church considers it to be a God inspired work, and that is the Ethiopic Church.

Jewish religious books that were written during the Old Testament period can be divided into three basic categories. First, there are the books accepted by all – the Hebrew Scriptures. Second, there are the books that are accepted by some – the Old Testament Apocrypha. Finally, there are a number of books that are rejected by all – the Pseudepigrapha or forgeries.

The Book of Enoch falls in the final category – the Pseudepigrapha – thus a FORGERY!

Enoch, descendant of Adam, allegedly penned the Book of Enoch. It consists of five sections containing 108 chapters. Within the Book of Enoch it is claimed that Enoch was given a revelations from the Lord. While a number of manuscripts were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, there is no evidence whatsoever that these were authored by Enoch.

The Book of Enoch discusses human history from the start to the finish. In each of the five sections the theme of angels coming down from heaven and marrying earthly women runs through. This union produced giants 450 ft tall who became evil and violent. Because of the sin of these giants God destroyed the earth with a flood in the days of Noah. This first judgment was given as a warning of judgment that is to come at the end of human history. Thus the Book of Enoch understands the "sons of God" in Genesis 6:1-4 to refer to fallen angels.

What of the actual Biblical Enoch?  Enoch is one of the two people in the Bible taken up to heaven without dying (the other being Elijah), as the Bible says "And Enoch walked with God, and he was not; for God took him." (Genesis 5:24; see also Hebrews 11:5). Most commonly, the phrase "Book of Enoch" refers to 1 Enoch, which is wholly extant only in the Ethiopic language.

The biblical book of Jude seemingly quotes from the Book of Enoch in verses 14-15, “Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: ‘See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.’” But this does not mean the Book of Enoch is inspired by God and should be in the Bible.

Jude’s quote is not the only alleged quote in the Bible from a non-biblical source. The Apostle Paul quotes Epimenides in Titus 1:12 but that does not mean we should give any additional authority to Epimenides’ writings. The same is true with Jude, verse 14. Jude quoting from the book of Enoch in Jude verse 9 does not indicate the entire book is inspired, or even true. All it means is that particular verse is true. It is interesting to note that no scholars believe the Book of Enoch to have truly been written by the Enoch in the Bible. Enoch was seven generations from Adam, prior to the Flood (Genesis 5:1-24). Evidently, though, this was genuinely something that Enoch prophesied – or the Bible would not attribute it to him, “Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men…” (Jude 14). This saying of Enoch was evidently handed down by tradition, and eventually recorded in the Book of Enoch.

The Bible is readable and tells a story from cover to cover.  Conversely, the Book of Enoch mocks the very Word of God, quoting phrases haphazardly without any meaningful logic or order.  Add to this a bunch of uninspired, unholy doctrine, makes the Book of Enoch a ridiculous piece of literature to even consider inspired by God.  The Book of Enoch is an occult deception that will lead you into the senseless mysticism of pagan religion.  The credibility of the Word of God is under malicious attack.

The Book of Enoch also uses unfamiliar terms such as the "Lord of Spirits" and the "Head of Days."  These terms are foreign to the Word of God.  The messiah is NOT directly mentioned.  The ambiguous mention of what may or may not be Jesus Christ in the Book of Enoch, is eerily reminiscent of Freemasonry.  It is worthy to note that Christ's deity is not evidenced in the Book of Enoch.

It appears that many statements in the Book of Enoch were taken from the Bible, and then built around occult doctrine.  Many terms from the Biblical Book of Revelation are quoted in the Book of Enoch; but without any sense or reason.  All 66 Books of the Word of God perfectly intertwine with each other, presenting a clear prophetic picture.  The Book of Enoch doesn't offer anything of doctrinal value, because its bizarre teachings stand alone, unable to be supported with Scriptures.  Some defenders of the Book of Enoch contend that Jesus often quoted from the Book of Enoch.  Prove it!  Every Scripture Jesus ever quoted is found in the Old Testament, without any reference to a Book of Enoch.

DEMONS BE GONE

By Reap Paden

It's another one of those paranormal subjects that so many people claim to be experts on...demons. There are many things that need to be taken into consideration when talking about demons. The logical place to begin would be the origin of demons, why did people start to believe in demons in the first place? Imagine back before medicine had advanced to the point it is today. If a person was to have one of the 6 general types of seizures listed here how would people explain it?

1) Grand-Mal seizure-  the person loses consciousness and usually collapses. The loss of consciousness is followed by generalized body stiffening for 30 to 60 seconds, then by violent jerking for 30 to 60 seconds, after which the patient goes into a deep sleep. During grand-mal seizures, injuries and accidents may occur, such as tongue biting and urinary incontinence.

2) Absence seizures- causes a short loss of consciousness (just a few seconds) with few or no symptoms. These types of seizures happen most often to children and typically interrupts an activity and causes them to stare blankly. These seizures begin and end abruptly and may occur several times a day. People are usually not aware that they are having a seizure, except that they may be aware of "losing time."

3) Myoclonic seizures consist of sporadic jerks, usually on both sides of the body. Similar to brief electrical shocks. When violent, these seizures may result in dropping or involuntarily throwing objects.

4) Clonic seizures- repetitive, rhythmic jerks that involve both sides of the body at the same time.

5) Tonic seizures- a stiffening of the muscles.

6) Atonic seizures- A sudden and general loss of muscle tone, particularly in the arms and legs, which often results in a fall.

Any one of these would cause a person to be a bit freaked out either by having one or witnessing it, even if you knew the cause. What if you couldn't know the cause because science had not advanced far enough yet? People who had seizures were thought to be possessed by demons because there simply was no other explanation. There are explanations now, and if any doctor (or chip coffey) was to try and tell you the reason your child was having any of the above symptoms was demon possession you probably wouldn't be making that doctor your child's primary care physician unless you had a selfish need to be on television.

Another cause for people to believe someone was possessed by demons would be mental illness/side effects resulting from substances. I believe this to be the main cause of people claiming demon possession is real in modern times.

I believe any person or persons who claims that demons are walking amongst us, possessing people, and causing them to do things against their will needs to do some study on the brain and how it can be effected by chemicals and illness.

Any reasonable person would have to agree that the symptoms of seizures, drug abuse, mental illness, or just a need for attention could be mistaken for a demon possession. Despite this fact we see more and more people from the paranormal community raising their hands up and claiming to know something about 'demonology'. There is no reliable proof of demons. I spoke to a person who believed in demons yesterday. I asked him why he believed in demons and he answered "Because I've seen one" He described a short creature in a hooded garment. This went against all of the research I had seen on what demons were. My research described demons as having no form unless they had a host which was why they possessed people in the first place. After thinking about this and speaking with a couple other people I realized everyone I had spoken to gave a different definition as to what a demon was and how it would manifest itself, yet they all claimed to have been " studying demons for years" ....So much for experts.

I asked one guy if he could tell me why I had not ever seen or felt a demon after multiple times try to conjure one using various tactics. He told me I must be 'too strong' . Demons, by definition are only susceptible to the power of jesus. This is not a point open for debate IF demons are real then only the power of christ can fight them. I can't even say jesus really existed much less that he is fending off demons for me (I would like to thank him in-case he is fighting off demons for me without my knowledge, I'll be sure to purchase a nice gift for him at X-mas).

Then  my demon expert told me a 'special door' needed to be opened in order to allow demons into this realm, he knew a way to open that 'door'  but would not share it with anyone because it was far too dangerous. While thankful of his concern for my safety it seemed a bit egotistical for him to assume I was unable to handle such knowledge. I mean, really? My demonology expert warned me over and over how dangerous it was and begged me to be careful. The one thing that did scare me is I think this person actually believed what he was saying.

This brings me to another point- Why do people in the paranormal believe that nature makes so many mistakes? People like chip coffey who claim to have some sort of genetic defect that gives him an ability no one else has? I've said this before- The x-men are cartoon characters and people do not gain special abilities from radiation exposure either.

Let me wrap it up with this- You 'demon hunters out there? You need to be able to know there is not some other cause for what you think is a demon. You need to be educated enough to diagnose mental and physical conditions which could be causing a 'possession'. "I just know" or "I could feel an evil energy" does not cut it. You are involving yourself in another persons life in ways which could effect them and everyone they come in contact with for the rest of their lives. This is not something you should be doing unless you are an EDUCATED PROFESSIONAL in all aspects of what could a factor for a person claiming to be a victim of demons. Otherwise, mind your own damn business. Our mental health-care system is bad enough off, we don't need anyone helping others to become even more ill by supporting their delusions.Using the same explanations used by people in the dark ages is not the best way to the truth otherwise we would still be using the pear or iron maiden in our court system.

Next time I will be discussing your brain and why you can't trust it.

WORLDWIDE PRAYER CIRCLE RETURNS ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4!

Due to demand by our readers, we're bringing back the prayer circle. Every Sunday, people from all faiths and from anywhere in the world, can post their prayer needs no matter how great or small. This is for you, your friends, family—anyone. Let's bring glory to the powers of love, faith and compassion.

OUR HARDEST HITTING INVESTIGATION YET!

Starting Wednesday, Nov 30 [we're giving our writers the week of Thanksgiving off] we'll launch a series of posts concerning online predators. These are people that have stalked, lied to, used, and abused Facebook pages and websites dedicated to the show Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal. We've received many warnings of violence and lawsuits if we go forward with this investigation. That tells us we are onto something. Apparently, no one within the paranormal community has the guts to say what it is…

LOS ANGELES: CITY OF ANGELS OR FALLEN ANGELS?

I have spent very little time this year in LALA-land and, unfortunately haven't been able to handle any cases there. A few weeks ago, I was given a case of a lady who has been dealing with a possible demonic attack directed at her home/life. I've been trying to find her some help. To date, whether it is a paranormal team or a church, no help has been found. But here is a list of excuses:

1 One church representative informed me there was no such thing as demons.

2 A church representative said they only helped church members. [Non-members would have to join the church in order to receive help.]

3 Another representative of a church informed me that they only worked with certain races.

4 One paranormal team asked for a fee upfront. The other asked to be paid at the end of the case.

5 The majority of churches contacted never returned my calls and/or emails.

So what does this tell us about the City of Angels?

WE WANT TO WISH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF OUR READERS, AS WELL AS ALL THE FAKE PARA-CELEBS WE HAVE EXPOSED AND WILL EXPOSE IN THE FUTURE, A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING !
