R.I.P. DEMON EXORCIST CREDIBILTY

We were under the impression that we completed our investigation into Animal Planet's pilot reality TV show, Demon Exorcist. But it seems like those involved in the production of the show, along with the featured "stars" attempt to keep it the public eye. They're desperately trying to extend their 15 minutes of fame in the hope of selling at least a documentary. Maybe a book? Maybe a film deal? Due to all the deceptive statements and our ability to expose them, the likelihood of any such deal/s will soon be dead in the water.

Now we now can expose the biggest deception yet of the show and its supporters. Guess they've learned nothing from what Cindy Anthony did on the witness stand -- if you lie, you hope there is no proof to expose that lie.

A few weeks ago when it seemed that interest in Demon Exorcist was deservedly dying, the supporters of it hoped to stir the pot of controversy when they sent me this email:

Ok Kirby, since you won't give it up, here's a hint.. Look up Father Jack Ashcraft Then go back and read your articles about Dwayne not knowing what he's doing or having any power to do what he did.. Kinda funny huh? I'm respecting you by sending it in email and not calling you or Ron Tebo out in public because this totally shows that you and him did not do your homework. EVERYONE else did and has told me to let you guys continue to bash and look stupid. Yes, you and Ron have MANY enemies and have lost a lot of credibility because of the BS you guys write about. I can only hope that the next article you write about comes from you and not Ron Tebo and his OPINIONS in which he claims are facts, who obviously know's NOTHING.. Don't go down with him Kirby. You ARE a good writer, use your talent to do GOOD things instead of throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks.

All due respects,
Sarah

They will regret sending this email or bringing up Father Jack Ashcraft. They hoped to spread the lie that he was technical adviser to the program. Yes, he is listed as such. But it's another lie on the show's part. Fr. Ashcraft sent me a personal email and through his words the show and its supporters lose the last remaining bits of credibility. Here is his unedited email.

Mr. Robinson,
I hope this message finds you well. I was sent a link to your blog by one of your readers I suppose and wanted to help fill in some gaps for you regarding my part in consulting on "Demon Exorcist". The totality of my input was limited to two or three phone calls made to myself asking questions of theological import to preternatural issues. One call was a request for the name of a priest in the area they were currently filming in, which I provided. Other than this I had no other input or involvement in the project. I only just saw the program last night to be honest. While I can't go so far as to claim everything was faked (since I have no firsthand knowledge of the investigations), I will say that at least one of the clients' stories struck me as suspect. The myth of Satanic Ritualistic Abuse has been exposed many times over by very good investigative journalists (such as Bob and Gretchen Passatino), Christian and secular alike. Thus I viewed the claim of one client as fabrication, in my opinion. Again, I cannot say for certain since I have no firsthand knowledge of the client nor the investigation.

You also mention that I have aligned myself with many people you find suspect. I quite honestly do not align myself with anyone whatsoever, for many of the same reasons you highlight on your blog. I do answer questions and provide investigators with the names and contact information of priests in their areas who may be of assistance in a pastoral counseling and/or exorcism situation. I will help anyone who asks for help and provide legitimate knowledge and references to anyone who asks. Whether they availa themselves of the assistance is of course their choice. If this is aligning myself, then under this definition I will certainly plead guilty. I have been approached by a vast array of individuals (some well known, some not) in the paranormal community with a number of claims and have found no reason to believe any of them to have been legitimately demonic so far. I have been asked to perform exorcisms on radio and television, all of which I have refused to do. This area of ministry is not one which I believe belongs in front of the camera. My approach to the subject is wholly Christian and one which has not made me the darling of the paranormal world. I require full psychological and medical examinations of all claims brought to me before I will even speak to the issues involved in a case. Of course one must aslo investigate the living conditions of a client which may require testing for molds, etc. which can cause hallucinations, family dynamics, etc. I have so far not found a single case brought to me by the paranormal community to have any merit with reference to demonic activity. I have spoken at only one paranormal convention, and that just to deliver an address calling on the community to embrace the methods I briefly outlined above. I've been asked if I would like to be recommended for speaking engagements and have always said that it is not important to me whether I speak at an event or not. Please keep in mind that, though part of my sacerdotal ministry is exorcism, it is only a very small part of the totality of my ministry. Teaching the faith, administering the sacraments and being there to support people in difficulties forms the greater portion of my activity.

My opinion of the greater paranormal community is that it is seriously lacking in legitimate investigative methodologies, and that rather than seeking valid investigative principles, priests, ministers, etc., it is collectively star struck and chasing after the next fad or next paranormal star. I also would agree with you that perhaps the programs are staging events to maintain a viewership that might otherwise be bored with the seemingly mundane reality of preternatural research.

As for my column in the magazine; I write the only articles that I am aware of in the magazine that handle a wide variety of topics from a decidedly orthodox Christian point of view. I have written on such topics as Transhumanism, psychological Issues that could be mistaken for demonic activity, and recently interviewed a very knowledgeable scientist regarding Creation as a viable counter to atheistic evolutionary theory. My articles are not paranormal pulp I can assure you, and the greater part of the magazine isn't either. If you would like pdf copies of any of my articles I am happy to provide them to you.

I applaud your efforts to expose fraud and should you have any questions please feel free to contact me. May God bless you.

Pax Tecum,
Fr. Ashcraft +

It is good to see Father Ashcraft explain his role on the program, since he does list himself as a "consultant" on his "The Bare Fisted Cleric" site.
The following post could make you wonder about Fr. Ashcraft's position, as he posted on the "Demon Exorcist on Animal Planet" Fb site:
"FrAshcraft Osb: Congratulations on a very good program Dwyane!
May 4 at 10:49 am".

The congratulations could be seen as an endorsement for the program and the Demon Exorcist's actions. The Demon Exorcist says that he does not align himself with any one religion, and since he is filmed performing a baptism, etc., would very much look for public support from established ordained Christian clergy. May credibility remain lost for this show, and for future work by this particular demon exorcist and his team.

With sincerity - Fr. Ashcraft, may your ministry continue to reflect God's will.

A sincere thank you to both Father Ashcraft and Kirby Robinson..

Let's take this one step further Kirby, IF you have contact information with Father Ashcraft, AND he is willing, have him contact me and I will GLADLY share with him all I have to share and then he can tell you if I've faked anything I said on the show even though you only saw about 5 minutes worth of a week they were actually here. Plus I could really use his opinion on other things going on too. So PLEASE feel free to give him my contact info. I am suspect of the other woman on the show also but then again, how much did they not show of her story either? As for me lying about Father Ashcraft.. he clearly states he counseled for the show on HIS site not Demon Exorcist. And the ONLY people keeping Demon Exorcist alive is YOU and Scifake.. EVERYONE else has moved on with their lives. I will NOT be back on your blog anymore, I keep waiting for you to write something worth reading for you 5 fans and I see it's just not going to happen.. TAKE CARE!

There are a few other things the show neglected to include in the storyline Sarah.

Google Sarah Maitland and Maitland4u and decide for yourself who has a creidibity deficit, since she have elected to make her "situation" open for public discussion.

In our opinion:

She has used her kids as a weapon against her Ex (apparently a judge didn't belive her either)

She has used her kids as a weapon against an apartment complex she used to live in.

She has exploited, psychologically abused, traumatized and used her kids as a prop on a disgusting cable TV pilot demon exorcist, you are a piece of GARBAGE lady and you make me SICK!

This is not just about you it represents the latest fad in paranormal sensationalism that needs to be stopped for obvious and legitimate reasons.

Bye, Sarah. . . Did you really think the Demon Exorcist was going to positively impact what was happening in your house and with your family with any kind of finality? You kinda knock Kirby, again, and then ask him to forward your contact info. to another resource for help? Why don't you just call the Demon Exorcist and his team for help, and a follow-up episode?

Anonymous said...

If your teenage daughter was so traumatized, why is she going on paranormal investigations now with the team you had investigate your house? She's still a "child".

I watched the program once, after what I went through, and Kirby you know my story and saw my photo, I found it to be very laughable and never watched it again. Every time someone has a nasty spirit they cry demon, when most of the time it is nothing more than a human spirit with a bad attitude.
Keep up the great work. I love watching you expose those fakes. I know you understand why.

Hi Kirby,
I quoted your article in a comment on my own editorial about paranormal investigation at Flickering Torches, which is linked above. I've read a few of your blog entries now and I like them. Feel free to comment and post back to your site. Keep up the good work!

Just a little on-line digging, regarding the Demon Exorcist and team. Even more interesting, one of these entries was posted on CVAPI's article on the Demon Exorcist in The Examiner, but then made unavailable. How did the film company, Discovery Channel/Animal Planet, and involved paranormal teams and clients miss these entries which could serve as flags to credibility?

"Bye Sarah" ... <--Priceless,LOL

Father Ashraft most likely won’t be coming to her rescue. His sincere message obviously escapes Sarah and her continued demand for others to "keep looking for the proof 101" and reevaluating the case until it suits her have grown very tired to the public and the obvious blunders of her litigious past are gaining notoriety now instead of her alleged haunting.

I couldn't be more delighted. :)

Sarah made the egregious error of taking an apology from Ron Tebo of SciFake as a sign of weakness and proceeded to belittle him and the abuse he suffered as small child and even going as far as to insinuate he was using that as an excuse to get close to children himself. Yes Sarah, I found what you wrote.

That was a serious mistake on your part Sarah, The internet is forever and what I am saying is the truth and can be shown.

I won’t forget what you have tried to do to one of my best friends and a good man, you tried to sully his reputation in the most degenerate of ways you could think of, You make me sick.

Sarah said...

Come on Kirby why aren't you posting both sides of the story? Are you making your blog all about your way of thinking now? Why won't you let anyone know that you have been challenged to do a recorded interview with Jackie? So people can hear how pathetic your version of the show and myself really is? WOW! Well at-least pass this on for me..
"Savannah" why are you anonymous? Please take a moment to look at the website my post was put on before you speak like a blundering idiot here's the link my post was taken from.. http://mommygobyebye-virginia.blogspot.com/
maybe you can do something meaningful with your life and get involved!! And I really hope for your sake people will see the date that post was made as well as the apartment one and see what a parasite you really are. ALL of my children are rightfully back with me as I have told you before, so PLEASE stop lying. I have NOT used my children in ANY way and I'm sure those with a brain will be able to read those links and see that for themselves as many others have. As parents, they agree with those links and has agreed that this site as well as Scifake has dropped to the bottom of the parasitic barrel exposing my children whom have done nothing to you .. so thanks for that, you really DID have some great readers! Unfortunately for you, they now want to hear the TRUTH FROM ME.. so again, THANKS!

eyeontheparanormal said...

Sarah--It's ALL about you and Jackie. If Jackie can find a legitimate (and LIVE) radio show then she and I can have a debate.

Anonymous said...

The bottom of the barrel was hit with the case(s) being handled by the team on Demon Exorcist, and then the airing of the pilot on Animal Planet. The rest of the opinions expressed all over the internet are fallout from a program that should never have been.

Where is there any mention of who has custody of your kids? We all assume you have custody because of the videos you posted of your daughter covered in blood and your little boy terrified because he saw a shadow on "The Demon Exorcist". You have exacerbated his fears for the sake of self-promotion and only helped to solidify his notion that there was a demonic presence in your home.

You posted this Sarah, the dates are irrelevant and (IMO) proves that you have repeatedly used your children as props, tools and weapons to serve your agenda. No matter how hard you try to mitigate this FACT with your idiotic babble, your history and your lack of credibility speaks for itself.

WOW kirby.. Even Father Ashcraft get's it on yours and Scifake's blogs. But everything he says on your FB wall is oh so true. None of you know any of us and yet you judge and THINK you know all the answers before even asking or doing any research of your own..One person says something and all of you follow. Aanica and Savannah, what are you 13 yrs old? GROW UP and stop being such miserable heartless people for once! ARE YOU REALLY THAT PERFECT?

Aanica said...

Let's just write posts like Sarah from now on:

I PROVED there was a demon, you have no PROOF there wasn't one, my toilet hasn't overflowed since Dwayne exorcized the house, more PROOF! I made those other posts that PROVE I used kids against my Ex and an apartment complex a couple years ago so that should NOT be PROOF that I have of history of this behavior, so this should not PROVE there was not a demon that made a noise upstairs that others heard, (more PROOF) And a cross fell off the wall and a drunk was lying in front of my house, PROOF PROOF PROOF!!!!

After reading Sarah's 7/12 post, it doesn't seem right to keep reading that those who comment on the program are the ones that have to do the research or shouldn't comment because they don't know those involved in this Demon Exorcist pilot.
The way I see it - the Demon Exorcist Team, other paranormal teams, and the people portrayed as the "cases" all knew they would be on tv. Truths would have to have lies added to draw the audience to make the pilot into a series. As Sarah has said, as such, you can't believe what is shown on TV.
So, alleged possession can be a hot button topic for some people. But, if you willingly expose yourself and your very personal story to the public, on tv pilot that is trying to become a series, and then continue to talk about your experiences on blogs, YouTube, podcasts, websites, fb pages - then I think you're asking for the comments that may come. If you don't want your privacy invaded, then don't put yourself out to the public, or stop feeding into it. Get the help without the media exposure and the $$. Sarah couldn't get help from the Demon Exorcist without being on the pilot??
Other posts, where it is said the film company or tv station or both(?)were the ones to put the stories together for airing, then it would appear to be the your(the "cases") problem you didn't do your homework before signing on. Unfortunate, but not the viewers' fault for what they saw on the program.
The pilot was put out for the public to watch, right? It wasn't a private video that was leaked out. Little late to blame some of the public for not liking what they saw on TV, and expressing their opinions about it.

Lets please do not give any credit to anyone for cancelling horrific this show except God

Aanica said...

I have seen this come again in other forums and aparently now it's being used as podium to boost an ego of a very undeserving individual. This was not cancelled by any one individual it was a collective of ratings from the first airing that led to its demise.

Recent news has Dwayne Claud abandoning the paranormal all together, God knows where sarah maitland and donna crayne slithered off to but it is a wonderful thing.

We received an email from a man who asked about this what and who was involved, Joseph K. to answer your question (as I LMAO) NO "sakari" had no hand in this at all! Joseph believe me that guy is such a whinny, emotional little nobody we had forgotten he even existed until you brought it up. Hope that answers your questions. :)

Have a great day

Sarah wrote a book[ something she said had no plans in doing} it is put out by LULU which it seems everyone goes to that has a fake demon story as they will publish anything it did bad [ and was very bad] she along with jackie has been trying to get it made into a film but as yet no takers

as to jackie she hoped this case would be her ticket to para reality tv but that failed she still does readings in bars and is selling body warp sessions in her home

Aanica said...

@ The Eye, I want to thank you for some of the funniest and best news I've heard in while! LOL

Let's hope Claud and his team actually stay out of the paranormal/demonology, and this isn't just another publicity stunt to get attention, thereby making a grand re-entry in the near future.
Wonder if anything he says his truthful, including his leaving?

I Googled Demon Exorcist out of curiosity after seeing a.. poorly developed episode. Admittedly, I have a niche for spooky stories and hauntings, be they were or fake.

With that being said, I can't take /anything/ on this show seriously. If the occurrences are as common as the "victims" want people to believe, then it shouldn't be difficult to provide more concrete evidence than a chubby guy walking around a house and acting like a mystical doughboy.

More importantly, I find it difficult to take anyone seriously if they're incapable of even properly spelling the simplest of words.

Demon Exorcist - Entertainment, nothing real or tangible.

Agree with the 8/14/14 post. Hopefully the Demon Exorcist/Dwayne Claud crew never resurfaces.
