Issue 122 – Long Island Medium eBook/Father Gabriele Amorth is Crucified by Charisma News

By Kirby Robinson

Our new book on the Long Island Medium will be coming to an online bookstore early next month. Father Gabriele Amorth gets crucified by Charisma News [so who needs demons?]

It's been a very busy start to summer for the EYE ON THE PARANORMAL crew. Tonight, the new radio show is being launched at 7 PST.  Here's the info:

Theresa Caputo, The Long Island Medium -- Investigated
After carrying out an intensive investigation into the world of the Long Island Medium, we'll be releasing our findings in an eBook next month. What the Long Island Medium is Selling I'm Not Buying… and Neither Should You will be available on Amazon, B&N NOOK, Smashwords and Kobo.

Coming to online bookstores in early July

What we uncover should be a warning to the public—DON'T accept the claims of this particular psychic/medium. The truth will leave you wondering how to get your time invested into the show or [if you paid money for her events], how to get your money back. We look into her readings, her show, and her mentor. We follow her path in the On the Road Florida special, and what we find is shocking.

Father Gabriele Amorth Ambushed on Charisma News…with Nutjobs like these, the Devil Doesn't Need Demons

I have the utmost respect for Fr. Gabriele Amorth. I've had a chance to reread his book http://www.amazon.com/Exorcist-Tells-His-Story/dp/0898707102/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1371589769&sr=1-1 and review his teachings. I've never been disappointed by them even during the time when the existence of Lucifer is doubted-- something that's going on in the Church--he held dear to his faith.

He went public with things that were on his mind concerning the rite of exorcism. This was after the pope was alleged to have confronted a man in a wheelchair who might have had demonic issues [was he possessed, oppressed, or just had an infestation, no one but the pope knows]. Father Gabriele expresses some concerns that the church needs to train more priests to become experts in the rite of exorcism. He also wants the church to allow priests to perform an exorcism without seeking permission from church authorities.

Charisma News picked the story up and ran with it. For those who aren't familiar with Charisma News, only tea partiers and diehard anti-liberals are usually the target audience. The theological view is aligned with Falwell and Robertson. They don't say anything bad about big time preachers like Paula White and the Crouchs'.

I might have disagreements with Catholic doctrine but posting the following crosses the line.

That would be correct...
However.."followers" these people are NOT.
A follower of Christ is not a practising homosexual.
A follower of Christ does not perpetrate sex with a child.
A follower of Christ does not bow down to idols.
A follower of Christ does not put their 'faith' into anything other than Christ Crucified.
A follower of Christ calls no man his 'father', over or above his Heavenly Father.
A follower of Christ has repented of SIN.
A follower of Christ lives in Holiness before a Holy and Just GOD.
A follower of Christ acknowledges The Blood atonement of The Lamb of GOD as 'The One and Only' means by which a soul can be saved.
This 'church' and its cohorts are the greatest threat and opposition to The Gospel of Christ, equal to the Islamic movement...in its opposition of The TRUTH...found in Christ Crucified.
Jesus Christ is NOT just some obscure figure hanging on a cross.
HE is NO LONGER on The Cross.
HE came and lived among us, died for SIN, was buried and rose victorious, and now sits at the Right Hand of GOD as our mediator.
HE is our Redeemer.
HE is our Saviour.
HE is our Lord of Lords and SOON coming King of Kings.
Wake up people..prepare your hearts..your Redeemer lives, and IS returning SOON.....for a Spotless Bride....Amen.

It's sad that the poster chooses to lump every member of the Catholic Church into one pile. To use his logic, we must start questioning anyone claiming to be a Protestant due to the fact of the scandals that have swept through the Christian church. Those have included pastors cheating on their wives, pastors' wives cheating on their husbands, pastors cheating with other pastors, pastors having sex with minors, and misappropriation of church funds. Not to mention the false teachings that run rampant, as well as false teachings of well known televangelists. Why can't we just have a calm and decent conversation on doctrinal differences?

Dalai Lama Calls for Secular Ethics

The Dalai Lama doesn't find bright-coloured eyeshadow attractive, he's interested in the mechanics of desalination and thinks small dinners are good for weightloss.

These were just some of the diverse topics the Tibetan spiritual leader broached when he addressed more than 10,000 people at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Sunday.

The 77-year-old moved from global warming to the state of the news media, Marxism and reincarnation during his sold-out public address on the "ethical mindfulness of everyday life".

One of the key messages of the talk, which was part of his 10-day tour in Australia, was the need for "secular ethics" – a human value system that is not grounded in religious teachings.

"Ethics can be universal," the Dalai Lama said.

"Secular ethics respect all religions and non-religions.

"They are taught not through prayer, not through meditation, not through teaching in church but through education."

His argument for "secular ethics" is grounded in the belief that humans are by nature compassionate.

"Our lives start with much immense affection from our mothers so everyone who experiences that is then equipped with the potential to show that affection," he said.

It wasn't all serious. The Dalai Lama, who has toured Australia eight times, generated much laughter and applause during his two-hour talk.

When asked by an eight-year-old what it felt like to be a Buddha, the Dalai Lama responded: "Buddha? Me? Nonsense, unrealistic".

When asked about love, he related an anecdote about meeting an official's wife who was "not very attractive" but wonderful "on the inside".

Ben McDade, 26, who travelled from Queensland for the address, said he was surprised at how funny the Dalai Lama was.

"His message is really simple and easy to comprehend. It's for everyone," he said.

"The thing I've taken away from today is probably just to relax a little about everything."

Rose Levin, 32, of Darlinghurst, brought her three-and-a-half-week-old daughter to the address.

"We thought it would be really lovely to tell her one day that she'd seen the Dalai Lama," Ms Levin said. "She's got to be the youngest person here."

Yoga teachers Jacki Murray, of Gosford, and Michelle Mulliet, of Seven Hills, said they plan to use the Dalai Lama's messages in their classes.

"I first probably heard about his messages five years ago and it has led me to have a massive lifestyle change," Ms Murray said. "It helps me to stay calm and deal with the stress in my life."

The Dalai Lama will make his next public talk in Melbourne on Tuesday. He is also due to visit Adelaide and for the first time Darwin.

Peer Pressure Affecting Your Walk?

By Stephen Piersall
God's Preservation Ministry http://sfprs.org/

God is so good! Recently, I have had a closed MRI for my back and being 6’3”, 260 pounds and claustrophobic; they shoved every ounce of me in this tiny crawl space about the size of the old torpedo tubes submarines used years ago. I normally would start with my panic attacks and anxiety getting the best of me days before, but it was done in 18 minutes, and I spent the whole time eyes closed and praying to God for everybody I could think of. I had a root canal done with NO PAIN for the first time during my life. Yes, I spent every minute in prayer with that too. I also gave birth to my first (and hopefully never again) Kidney Stone. Ouch! Yes, they are as bad as the stories you might have heard, and the prayers that days were in desperation. LOL. Lastly, completed a pre-surgical physical, and the results show I am the healthiest I have been in years.

Since our ministry is growing and helping many other people with Christian Deliverance counseling, and still attending classes at our local church and Internet courses, it has brought closeness to God that one can only cherish. So intimate, that when I wake up, the first thing that comes to mind is God and my personal prayer list of those who have needs. It is the same at night when taking our two dogs out for the last time before bed; looking up to the sky, talking to God, and thanking him for all he is doing in my life. The late Walter Payton, NFL, Chicago Bears running back was nicknamed “Sweetness." With God beside me, it is pure “Sweetness."

Leaving the hospital, passing many people and the Holy Spirit within me must have turned up the volume on my ears. Hearing couples arguing over petty things, gossiping all around, my ears were just buzzing. This doctor is no good, and this neighbor all the time complains about different highly public viewed clergy on TV. Yikes, jumping back into the MRI machine where it was safe and just praying to God in peace, (except for the LOUD MRI noises) seems like a great idea.

One of the pet peeves of mine is a person talking bad about others behind their backs. Here recently I have had two discussions with some of our staff about what they were doing if it gave them a good reputation with God and their business and family life. They both accepted the discussion in a Christian attitude, and I praise them both for their walk with God. What about the others I mentioned, is peer pressure affecting walking with God? This rather reminds me of back in Junior High School all over again.

The Bible says that the tongue is full of deadly poison. The tongue is like a sword. It can cut and slice apart its victims. Proverbs 21:23 states, "Whoso keepeth his mouth, and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles."

Why must we speak about what version of the Bible that someone reads? Why must we talk about clergy members who have Internet talk shows? Why must we talk badly about how someone does deliverance differently than what you believe? Jesus commands we remove evil, but no particular checklist for us to follow in doing so. There are many methodologies, and if it works, Glory to God! Why are Christians not acting like Christians? Why are some of you reading this not Christian at all?

Christian Bible thumpers as we sometimes are called, will keep trying to win souls for Jesus because that is our number-one job. Jesus proclaimed that in his Great Commission among other things. You can go through all of these biblical steps with a right heart and spirit, and the other person may still choose to respond in a negative or fleshly way. Some people have a contentious spirit and do not want peace. On the other hand, some people will agree with you to your face and make no change whatsoever. At this point, you cannot get bitter and angry. You must leave it with the Lord. Romans 12:18 states, "If it be possible, as much as in you lieth, be at peace with all men."

Did you know that of all the sins that God sees in us, they are, even so, to him except one? The sin of not accepting Jesus as your Savior is above all other sins. When you die and bow before him, and he says, “I do not know you”; your destiny in Hell will reign forever.
Matthew 7:22-23“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? Then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire, so then; you will know them by their fruits.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.”

That has happened to me also, where someone thought, I was speaking of them, when I was not. However, what this says to me, it is the Holy Spirit convicting that person's heart. Instead of leaning toward the Spirit of the Lord, they get very defensive. What we see as very immature behavior in some really can be brought back around to the enemy causing trouble in the Body of Christ, as you are making clear.

It is too late to accept Jesus as your Savior once you die. There is no purgatory or earth bound spirits or ghosts where you can pray someone to heaven or have a medium cross over someone for you. Believing in any of that is Satan’s trap to lure you. Beware of false prophets, Satan and his demons are the master of disguises! Read the Gospels and follow the teachings of Jesus.

This YouTube video will answer some questions perhaps you have. Enjoy.

Authority of Bible

By Reverend Mark Hunnemann

Why are we doing a series on the attributes of God's Word? Because it is God' Word! The bible is the ultimate criterion or authority we look to in ethics and Christian decision making, as well as interpreting His creation. What I want to focus on this time is the authority of God's written Word.

Scripture has unique authority because it is God's Word. Divine authorship is the primary reason the bible is authoritative. The Westminster Confession of Faith states:
The authority of the Holy Scripture, for which it ought to be believed, and obeyed, depends not upon the testimony of any man, or Church,; but wholly upon God (who is truth itself) the author thereof: and therefore it is to be received, because it is the Word Of God. (WCF 1.4)

Its authority is absolute because God's authority is absolute, and Scripture is His personal word to us. It is normative in that it tells us what to do and what not to do...in order to flesh out what loving God and others looks like. Influential evangelical theologians have been downplaying the significance of the normative role of Scripture as well as its inerrancy. These are brilliant men, but they apparently fell asleep in basic logic class...commit more fallacies than you can shake a stick at.

God's authority is His right to tell His creatures what they must do, and not do.7,000 times in the English bible God is referred to as Lord--Jesus tells us that our response to His Lordship is expressed, in large measure, in our bowing before the authority of His Word (John 14:15). God's control is about might; authority is about right. God made us (Gen. 1-3, heck, the WHOLE bible!!)-therefore He has the lawful right to give us norms to govern our behavior. The authority of the Bible is connected with God's Lordship, and HIS absolute authority over us. Let me mention three aspects of God's (and His written Word) absolute authority.

God's authority is absolute...means that we should not doubt or question it. In Romans 4:16-22 Paul says that Abraham did not waver in his belief in God's promise--even though both he and Sarah were way past the age of having children.Nonetheless, Abraham clung to God's authoritative Word, and so should we.

Second, the absoluteness of God's authority means that His Lordship transcends all other loyalties. We are to love our parents, but we are to love and honor Him more (Matt. 10:34-38)

Third, the absoluteness of God's authority means that it covers all of human life. Paul says, "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Cor. 10:31) God has the rightful authority to govern all areas of human life. (we will elaborate on this next time regarding the comprehensiveness of scripture)

Application 1  Regarding paranormal phenomena, we must not doubt or waver in our conviction that it is demonic. No matter how convincing it appears otherwise, we must walk by faith, and not by sight--as Abraham did.

Application 2 The paranormal community is what sociologists call a "plausibility structure"...providing peer pressure which makes demonic deception appear exceptionally plausible. But our loyalty to Christ transcends whatever our friends may think.

Application 3 The absolute authority of God's Word has jurisdiction over all people and over all areas of human life...including what we believe. (as we saw last time) In what you believe about paranormal phenomena, and how you respond to it, are you earnestly trying to glorify God? God's rule over us through His Word is totalitarian. He rules every aspect of our lives, and He wants His Lordship recognized in every nook and cranny of our lives...and of the entire planet. Obviously, His Lordship is totalitarian in a good way--He desires to extend the blessing of His presence throughout the Earth and in every aspect of human life.

House Blessings and Ceremonies to Drive the Demonic Away

By Lisa Grace

Many people have blessings and various types of ceremonies to drive demonic entities away, but then you'll hear from the homeowners that it quieted things down for a while, but they came back. This is to be expected and is not a surprise for those of us who have actually read or practice what it says to do in the Holy Scriptures.

Demons cannot be destroyed, only moved, so it's only natural they come back to places they feel comfortable in. Some demons seem to act as scouts. Scouting out the territory and then bringing more powerful evil ones to the receptive places they find. (Job 1:6-7); Jude 1:6; 1 Cor 6:3; Matt 12:43-45)

To drive evil spirits out of a home you must do the same things you would for a possession, not the made up things made popular on TV and in books that come from a place of superstition, but the things that come from the authority of God. You must be saved, which means not just believing (for the demons believe and they tremble James 2:19), but repent, which means to turn away from your sin.

Stronger spirits will require someone who is a true believer to drive them out, who does prayer and fasting. (Matt 17:21; Mar 19:29)

Again, if the occupants are not saved, the demons will return eventually, as it is the same as leaving a beautiful mansion unlocked, fully stocked, with an invitation to enter on the front door.

The Scriptures only talk about oil with spices for anointing, prayer, and fasting as being effective.

Incense was used in the temple on the altar (Ex 30: 1, Ex 30:7-9; Ex 31:1) and I only found one reference to Holy water (Num 5:17) where dirt must be taken from the temple floor and be added with the water into an earthen vessel, where the water is used in a jealousy ceremony to make sure the woman will be faithful or left barren. It wasn’t used in house blessings.

To do a blessing upon the occupants, here is an example: (2 Sa 7:29).

There are also blessings on a house and its occupants that come from tithing, which is giving the first tenth of your production to the LORD. (Eze 44:30;  Zec 8:13; Mal 3:10)

You can't ask a God you don't believe in to honor you and your house. (Is 1:15; 2 Ch7:14)

Many people will willingly take your money, and make promises they can't keep, because the demons and evil angels are not under their authority. These people may make the house uncomfortable for the evil spirits for a while, but they will return, that much I can guess from what Scripture says.
