Issue 133 – Burying Ed & Lorraine Warren’s Credibility

By Kirby Robinson

Tonight’s show begins at 7 PM [PST] or 10 PM [EST].  The topic is:
The Myth-Busting Continues! Amityville Horror, The Haunting in Connecticut and The Conjuring

See this page for more information:

If you tuned in last week, you know we didn’t finish debunking the Amityville Horror case. We still have at least 30 minutes of information to share with you before moving on to the Haunting in Connecticut case--which will take up the rest of the show. The show we had lined up for September 11, debunking the claims in the book The Harbinger, is being pushed back to the 18th of September. As you may/may not know, the book focuses on the events that occurred on 9/11 because God was angry at the USA due to sin and not being closer to Israel.

We’ll then take a detailed look into the Perron case The Conjuring, or what I like to call The Concocted.

Ed Warren -- If Only I Knew How Deceptive You Were…

…and that includes Lorraine as well. Sometimes I’m hardheaded and freely admit that when I give my loyalty it takes a lot for me to regret doing so. However, after our investigation into the three cases we’re debunking on the radio show, there are many similarities.

~ All occur in New England

~ All feature families with two parents and two [or more] children

~ All feature families in transition. A blended family in Amityville; health crisis in Connecticut; and family in need of a new location in the Perron case.

~ All claim demonic activity

~ All claim something odd went on in the house prior to moving in. Amityville and the Conjuring claim it was murder. In Connecticut, the funeral home employees practiced necrophilia.

~ All the families made money off their cases

~ All families freely went public with their claims

~ None of the families can produce any proof that there was anything going on

~ All were made into feature film franchises

~ From the information that’s available, none of the cases are real

~ Ed and Lorraine Warren were involved in these cases and they cashed in, laughing all the way to the bank. I personally doubt that Ed is laughing any longer, as God won’t be mocked. I wonder if anyone with real spiritual discernment has ever brought the $109 package where you get to eat dinner with Lorraine. What’s on the menu? EVP entrees and demonic desserts? This is followed by a tour in her basement Occult Museum and ends with a walk to Ed’s grave. Do you hear Ed begging for forgiveness for all the fakery he took part in?

Throughout my career, I heard it wasn’t Ed that was full of a desire to be rich and famous it was Lorraine. Was that just a way to ignore what was really going on?

Have you ever dug into how these two got their start in the business of demonology?

It wasn’t a calling from God to do this for His glory. It’s important to note that Ed didn’t call himself a Christian demonologist but a religious one. Religion can’t cast out a single demon. Demons enjoy leading people down the religious path--religious people were responsible for killing Jesus Christ. Today, the same self-righteous religious people want to stamp out Christianity. You just don’t decide that dealing with demons is what you want to do. God decides if He wants you to deal with the demonic.

Apparently, Ed felt he knew more about art and he could paint better than anyone else could. So Ed would paint a picture of a house and in the painting he’d add ghosts floating out of the windows. Lorraine, the used car salesperson [like Jim Bakker], was the one that would tell the homeowner they had a demon issue. Not a small problem, but a big one.

That kept the pair happy for a while. In the mid-1970s public awareness on the dark side increased due to the book and movie version of The Exorcist. The Warrens knew how to work the P.R. circuit, doing lectures at every turn. Then came the Perron case and the Amityville Haunting. There was no turning back. It became less about helping people and more about helping themselves. No longer would it be a 30-second news spot. More books about these cases populated library and bookstore shelves. Ed told Ray Garton, author of the book about the Haunting in Connecticut case, to “make the shit up and make it scary.” The truth no longer mattered. Maybe it never did. Have you ever seen any tape about their cases, or any photos that couldn’t be explained away? Like the demon boy photo from the Amityville haunting…that was a young man, not a boy. He worked for the Warrens and posed for the picture in order to make more money for them.

It didn’t stop there. Many of the current crop of para-fakes like Ryan Buell copied her schemes, selling it to a new generation of suckers. Ed and Lorraine would host a class at a nearby restaurant and charge $20. They also made the student fork over a percentage of the food and drink tab.

Now that Ed is gone, Lorraine hasn’t slowed down a bit from her wacky appearances on fake TV shows like Paranormal State to the movie The Conjuring which is rumored to have two sequels in the works. How’s that? Well, they’re based on the case files of Ed and Lorraine Warren that no one has ever seen.

It’s interesting to note how Lorraine has difficulty grasping the truth. She claims an exorcism was performed on the Amityville home. None was ever done. [She also said that the haunting there was from the bowels of the earth. I think it was from someone’s bowels.]

She claims that every time she went into the house she carried a photo of Padre Pio with her. If you want to be inspired by someone who exhibits all the traits of genuine compassion, please read this: http://padrepiodevotions.org/a-short-biography/

When you say every time that means every time you are in the house you have that photo in your hand. She even shows how she held it in the documentary My Amityville Horror. So we decided to take a look at all the photos of her in the house that we could find and take a close look at them. There were some photos where you couldn’t see her hands, or only one hand. But the majority of the photos we could examine and see if she was holding anything in them. Turns out that the number of times Padre Pio’s photo was seen is zero.

Charles Lutz stated in the documentary that everyone in the home was saved and baptized. This fact must have slipped by Lorraine. No one who is saved can be possessed by the demonic. God and the devil can’t be in the same body at the same time. This simple fact is learned in demonology 101.

When I get back to LA, which, knock on wood will be soon, all the books about the pair or written by Ed Warren will go sailing out the door. They won’t land on the curb for some unsuspecting person to find, read and be deceived, but into the trash where they belong.

Nowadays there are so many like Ed and Lorraine running around in the paranormal field. Some want to help, but they still want the gravy train and all the fame baggage that follows. Others just want to hop aboard that train, as they don’t give a damn.

To me that’s scarier than any demon I’ve ever encountered.

Kirby, you are a man who lacks class, morals and decency. First, you attacked Fr. Andrew Calder after he was dead. Now, you attack an 86 year old woman in failing health. I hope that Lorraine Warren and her family file a lawsuit against you for defamation of character. And don't bother to say that they will have to prove their claims about the paranormal. They won't. You will be the defendant in court.

"both cases what was said was the truth and truth is the best defense". Were you there? How do you know it was the truth?

You sir are a complete idiot. Whom I highly doubt knows anything about the paranormal field or any kind of religion for that matter. You have nothing better to do than talk down on people you know nothing of. You are not only like these so called fakes you are writing about, you are actually far worse. You wanna take someone's hard work and credibility and try to trash it for your own personal gain. And your trashing a dead mans name at that. I've seen what these people can do first hand and I know you have not or you wouldn't be writing this trash right now. Which is all this article is by the way. So if you would like to make a quick dollar do it on some ones account that you actually know something of.

If you had seen there work 1st hand as you claim you would know they was fake as they come

So, I'm reading this, and reading, and getting the point that you don't like the Warrens, ok fine. You think that Lorraine is just money hungry, and a fake, ok, your entitled to your opinion. I for one, don't agree w you. Well, I get to the end, and what do I see, you, the hypocrite, are also trying to profit from your ventures. What happened, did Mrs. Warren call You out as a fake? Were you supposed to take a case, and she "scooped" you?

eyeontheparanormal said...

Hey Anonymous, you really have the courage of your convictions putting your name out there behind the lies you write.

Let me make it clear to you: Ed Warren, Lorraine Warren and Tony Spera are all fakes. If a demon bit them on the butt, I doubt they'd be able to tell it was a demon.

- How many clients did they leave hurting because they left the case after the publicity faded?

- How many times were Ed and Lorraine sued?

- How many books were published as nonfiction about cases they claimed as demonic? Cases that were actually fiction. "MAKE THE S%$T UP AND MAKE IT SCARY!" is what Ed used to say.

And let us not forget about the Amityville case which a judge ruled to be fake.

Ed’s dead. Lorraine is playing psychic, and you have been deceived.

Well, for starters, when you do a comment on your blog, it asks for a profile, and being that the only one that fits for me is anonymous, I personally had to choose that one. Now, I cannot speak for the other anonymous. My comment was the last one, and I stand by it, and my name is Megan, hello Kirby. I don't see how you can bash an now elderly woman,a deceased man. You work in this field, you of all people should know to never speak ill of the dead. Speak your mind, and move on. What could Mrs. Warren possibly be doing w her money that she makes? She still lives in the same house that her and Ed lived in, she does not wear flashy clothing. How do you know she doesn't donate? Her daughter has the ability as well, but does not use it, so she won't be profiting. Do you not charge to do cleaning, or a book singing, or a lucture? Like I said before, I feel a sence of jealousy on your part, and you are tired of hearing about the Warrens. From what I have gathered, you yourself, are a bit of a liar, and a opportunist.

One of their famous paranormal investigations is the Amityville Horror, which was also made into a movie based on the The Amityville Horror. The inconsistencies and fibs of the case are well documented. Another case, in which the Warrens themselves described in a book called The Devil in Connecticut, garnered far more press coverage. The Warrens were called in to help with the exorcism of a young boy.Butin 2006, when their book on the case was reissued and a film was in development, a member of the possessed boy’s family sued, claiming the whole story was a hoax. “The Warrens told my family numerous times that we would be millionaires and the book would help get my sister’s boyfriend, Arne, out of jail. The Warrens were/are nothing but sensationalists.

I am yet another anonymous. my name is Wendy. You, sir, are no more credible than any of the people you bash. You expect proof, yet you show none to support your rants. Only hearsay. just as you say, people lie. You remind me of a politician.

Hey man, as far as supporters of the Warrens go, you can't reason somebody out of something they were not reasoned into. Personally I find that the real stories behind their cases are more interesting than the demon mumbo jumbo, at least from a psychological standpoint.

I don't believe anything is true about the warrens. However, that being said, Kirby, you are not much better with your own kind of bat-shit crazy. Demonology 101? Do you take that after lunch and right before unicorns 102? Just sayin..........

Nope, as the defendant you are innocent until PROVEN guilty, not the other way around. They would first have to prove the paranormal investigations are legit, and then that this blog post hurt their source of income.

They would never win a case where someone exposes them as frauds, because they don't have any proof that they're not.

I cant believe people get so heated about other peoples opinions. the fact is that none of us can definitively say ed and Lorraine are/were a fake or that they aren't. she makes money from this, but everyone has a trade and has to make a living somehow. churches rely on donations for their services and I have seen many shows on tv with men preaching that if you want to be right with god you have to make a minimum donation for his approval. if you are going to use spirituality to attack people, maybe you should also consider those who claim to be saving you while they rob you blind. I will never understand why you choose to tell us exactly who a demonic spirit can and cannot possess when it's a fact that no one really knows anything about how any of that works. every religion has different guidelines made up by the person that created each denomination, so who's to say anyone knows for sure. and I do believe there is proof that paranormal and psychic communication exists. edgar Cayce was renowned for his abilities and never disputed against. while there is a large amount of fakes out there, we should all try to be a little more open minded, considering the fact that none of us knows all the answers to the mysteries of the religious and paranormal world around us. oh, and my name is Samantha, I had to post anonymous

Wow....just wow....... the demons don't go bump in the night.... they are the living.

Doubting but Open said...

Whether the Warren's cases were real, fake or strongly embellished, I don't know. But I do know that some of things talked about in their writings really do happen. As a nurse in PA, we are educated to accept that can be backed by science and is evidence-based. With the proliferation of TV shows such as Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State and Ghost Adventures I concluded that these people were schemers who faked evidence to keep ratings up so their shows would remain on the air and the money would keep coming.

A few years ago, I worked at a 100yr old facility where I personally experienced things that defied conventional science and logic. And I was one to not believe the other staff when they told me these things happen frequently at the property.

Do I still believe a lot of this ghost stuff is faked; absolutely. I can only attest that what I personally experienced was fact and very disturbing at times.

I stumbled across this page and I'm shocked. Your an imaginative person. You speak as if it's a conspiracy or something. There's been many religious leaders involved with them while also having a lot of respect from others. How could you be so disrespectful by mocking something that probably scares you. What they are doing is helping people, even if people are paying. Doctors, teachers, lawyers and may others that help get paychecks too. I understand that you want to call out ppl that scam, but this couple isn't one of them. Continue to be open minded and good luck;)

Of course it is all fake. They are frauds, much like their faith in gods, demons, hell and holy water that do not exist. All these year and never once have we had proof. It is a no brainer to me, but as long as you still have people believing in a god in the sky and a fire pit called hell, you will have morons that buy into this junk.

I recall the youngest daughter writing a trilogy about the haunting. She states in her books yhat there wasn't one but a number of entities that the family rxperienced while living in the house. Even though the Warrens helped to rid the house of the quote:"most hatefyl spirit". The encounters continued. Why would she lie. She gets nowhere and loses all credibility. In watching the movie I question it's honesty and veracity. The moie makes it look like Ed and Lorraine relied entirely on themselves. Granted if Lorraine was a consultant she should have corrected the director. I believe Hollywood puts their own spin on these movies ignoring the facts. I also warn against consulting psychics, seers, soothsayers, etc... the bible warns against using these people. It's ungodly activity period.

I just came across this while doing general searches, and I have to say that I hope Ed Warren paid you a visit in your sleep at some point thereafter. Also, I chose this comment on which to reply simply because of the atrocious English used: "If you had seen their work firsthand, you would agree they are as fake as possible." Is that what you were attempting to say in that rant of defamation?

Ummm, if demons are real, why hasn't anybody photographed one? Schizophrenia is real. Obsessions are real. People really lie. Some of them actually really make money by lying. Sometimes people really get hurt from that. Oh, and P. T. Barnum was also real. He really said, 'There's a sucker born every minute.' I'm not a sucker, I need evidence to explain things. Really.
Demons aren't real. Really. Bitching about demons, as some have done here, won't prove your case. Really. Cudos to the people in here who bravely (and unrewardingly) point that out to the gullible flock of idiots.

I cannot speak to the authenticity of the Warrens' cases, but I can say without any doubt that I have experienced these same issues in a home I once purchased. The home was only 3 years old and the sellers (family of 4 who had it built) were very motivated which in hindsight should have been a tip. Curtains would move inexplicably with absolutely no drafts of wind, bedroom doors would slam of their own accord right in front of us, once actually with my younger cousin attempting to hold a master bedroom door closed (there were two) by its knob it was pulled violently out of his hands slamming against the wall then slammed shut as he was falling backwards. There was a spot in the stairwell that would at certain times be freezing cold in the dead of summer while the rest of the house was around 80 degrees. I would have random shoes appear in my living room one at a time. It became so frequent I began placing them in plastic walmart bags. Then my neighbor from across the street showed up one day at my front door and asked if we had seen any shoes around. I was shocked and handed her two plastic walmart bags of her and her husbands missing shoes. She then asked if we had ever experienced any other strange phenomenon. I asked what kind. She then described everything that was happening in my house. I asked her how she knew about that. She said the same things had been happening in her house (although to my knowledge I never lost any shoes while there) since she and her husband bought their home 5 years prior. She had conducted some research on the property and discovered a civil war battle had taken place on opposite sides of the creek that bordered the back side of my property line. She then surmised the land itself was haunted by the spirits of the dead soldiers. I'm not convinced that she was right about that, but I do know something was there. Although I never saw a physical manifestation of the entity itself other than the objects it manipulated it did speak my name once. My full first name is Jonathan, but everyone my whole life has called me Jon. But the night this thing spoke my name from behind me it said very clearly "Jonathan". That was all. There were other things that happened while we were there but I don't really feel I need to tell every last detail of ever occurrence. I stayed there exactly one year and one week before selling the house to a manager who worked at the same place I did. Several months went by and I stopped by his office and asked how he was liking the house. He said he loved it. I asked if everything was going okay with it and he said, very matter of factly, are you asking about the ghost? You could have knocked me over with a feather. He said yes it had visited him several times. He had named it and built it a shrine (he is Native American). He said it hasn't bothered him since. Now I'm not asking anyone to believe me. I don't need you to. I'm not trying to sell you anything or make a profit off of you in any way. I know what happened because I was there. I only wrote this because I get so sick and tired of reading people's comments on the blogs calling people of faith stupid, ignorant and superstitious. I was raised in the church and therefore believed in demonic presences already but merely in an academic fashion. I never ascribed them as something that effects people in today's times. I found out I was very wrong. You can choose to believe people of faith are crazy, foolish, backwards, superstitious, or whatever other adjective you wish to use. I know that makes it easier to cope with your surroundings. The acceptance of the existence of demonic and supernatural forces beyond our control and understanding is not an easy thing to live with, but when you put your faith in Jesus Christ you have an ally bigger than any other force. I don't believe every parnormal story I hear to be true but I'm not as quick to disbelieve it now after all I witnessed. God bless and keep you all.

How can you claim to debunk accounts of paranormal occurances & nearly in the same breath base some of the reasoning behind the debunkings in Christian religious idealologies? If you are going to use a school of thought as a basis for proving or disproving anything, you'd better look into making sure that the standard itself is sound & possesses little or no controversy. Christianity or really any other religion miss the mark by a looong shot as far as being proven to be factual & thus makes any use as an objective control or standard quite absurd. This is like using inches to report the temperature or like walking into a store to buy something & the price tag saying that it costs purple.

...jesus tap-dancing Christ, you people are too much. I found this because of an incident that my mother passed on to me after watching this ridiculous movie based on the Perron family.

I'm on my kindle and typing is clumsy so I won't get too deep into things, but my uncle first heard of the Warrens in the late 70s and, living quite closely decided to put them to the test. He staged an elaborate "haunting", contacting the Warrens with a crazy story (not unlike the one from the movie) as well as pictures he took of scratches (self inflicted) he said showed up in the middle of night, etc. Sure enough they took the bait, supposedly Lorraine immediately stated shaking and quivering when she walked in and after an hour tour in a house he told them was over a hundred years old, but had really been built specifically for his family, she declared there was "at least 3 very dangerous demons as well as numerous innocuous spirits" that resided in this fifteen year old house!

My uncle is a rather accomplished author and had a tape recorder in his jacket, originally planning on letting them bring their team in for an investigation, thinking it would be quite the opportunity for a book, but could not contain his laughter at Lorraines theatrics. He came clean after she assured him this was no laughing matter and that her sense was "never wrong" at which time they went storming out of the house, but not before a confrontation. Ed apparently became VERY violent when my uncle refused to give up the tape, punching one of the neighbors (who came as a "witness" to the faux supernatural happenings) who came in between them during the heated conversation. My uncle was assured by the Warrens that if the tape ever saw the light of day or if a book should come out there would be serious litigation, apparently they had some serious cash back then as a few weeks after the event, he received a letter from one of the biggest law firms in the state warning of law suits. For this reason he never wrote more than few pages of the book...damn shame too as it might have done a thing or two to nip their fame in the bud.

We are going to hit up his storage locker looking for the tape which he knows he still has. He feels enough time has passed and he has collected mounds of contradictory information regarding these two.

With all of this said, I don't agree with the original blogger. You bible bangers crack me up, arguing over who's got the better imaginary friend. Do yourself a favor and try researching Christianity, look into the cult of Mithras (where Christianity stole most of the core concepts), think for yourselves for Christ's sake. We're all afraid of the unknown, but it's no reason to lie to ourselves...

Since no one has bothered to mention it, I feel compelled by science. So in no way can anyone say if spirits and demons are or are real. Sometimes people hear noises or what they think is someone talking. This is a common phenomenon wherein our little brains struggle to make sense and that includes hearing a noise from, let's say a fan, the brain will relay its closest guess to what that noise could be. Also, we all know energy is a part of our world. We are energy, plants are and so on. The very first law of thermodynamics states all the energy in our universe is constant. So it stands to reason that since energy cant be destroyed our energy will still be in the universe even after we die. And before anyone says ghost are energy or something like that, energy is simply reauired to do work. We could be energy in the form of nitrogen in plants and whatever else.

I have a theory about the spaces between spaces in the universe. We think a unicerse must be enormous. What if that other universe is un those spaces. So small we cant see them. Or perhaps it acts like the god particle. Id like to imagine that an alternate universe is quite literally right next to us. So perhaps what one thinks are ghosts could be energy from the other universe. If it actually is true, we could assume that evidence would be incredibly difficult to find like the god particle; showing itself so briefly we cannot capture it.

In any event arguing over opinions is ridiculous. Being of a scientific mind requires proof. For those who blindly believe in the warrens, I need more proof than they said it so it must be true. If they are right I still need proof the alternative is either true or false. Everyone leaving comments berating the blogger, the blogger can write anything because we have freedom of speech. But the debate here is meaningless if we let emotions vloud our judgements. Consider both and find the evidence and then debate in a way that clearly supports your belief in a way that is open to hearing all sides. Hope this was not too confusing or weird. Any typos in here are attributed to typing this on my cell phone.

Dear Anonymous. You seem so defensive that I almost feel you are Lorraine warren herself.

If you knew anything about Witches and Wicca, the movie , which she oversaw to make sure it was "factual" has tons of falsehoods about Wicca.

For starters as a friend of witches, they do not worship Satan as they do not believe in him. Wicca witches worship nature gods.

That being said, the other plot part saying witches kill their young to appease Satan makes no sense. Consider that if anything Wicca Witches consider giving birth a blessing.

In the end she is a hoax in my book or at least embellished facts to make stories more interesting. Not surprisingly the movie "The Conjuring" which she oversaw to make sure it was factual seems like Christian Propaganda.

Anynomyous that had the ghost story. I am not one who is against the idea of ghosts, but like in the stories that the Warrens have told is much different than what you experienced. I do not believe in invisible demons etc. There is a difference between a ghost, and a demon, let alone a witch that became a demon.

By the way, does the fact that your American Indian friend's idol stopped the haunting make you question your faith? It would make me question mine.

Hi Dayna. Thank you for your honest curiosity rather than an outright dismissal or personal attack. To your points, this may sound sort of paradoxical considering all I witnessed, but I do not believe in ghosts as they are commonly accepted today. Based on my studies of the Scriptures, and I don't pretend to understand everything pertaining to them, I believe when a person dies they are immediately found in the presence of the Lord and receive their just reward at that moment. I know there are millions of people who will disagree with me on this, both those who disbelieve the Scriptures altogether and those who interpret them differently than I. And that's okay with me. I am merely giving my opinion of things as I see them now. I believe to be absent of the body is to be present with the Lord. I do however believe in demons and demonic spirits and despite popular cultural mockings of religion itself including satan and his demons I believe they are very good at what they do and if they wish to disguise their presence by making people believe they are ghosts then that is absolutely what they will do. I believe they have one goal in their existence and that is to lead as many people away from God as possible. I believe they accomplish this in many different ways including causing confusion and disbelief. My father is an elder in the church I grew up in but always encouraged my brother and I to keep an open mind about what is going on around us. Stand fast on your faith, but never become so arrogant as to believe you have everything all figured out was his motto. Having been raised by an elder in the church I have studied mithraism as Tony suggested. Mithraism is a mystery religion whos origins are hindu and persian. People asserted Christianity borrowed from mithraism because of the similarities found in the two such as the 12 apostles and bread and wine as a sacrament and so on. And since mithraism began in persia long before Christianity, it was surmised Christianity did indeed borrow from mithraism. However, the initiatory cult version Tony refers to is Roman militant cult in origin and scholars believe it holds very little if any resemblance to its pagan origins. In fact, they now agree these fourth century Romans changed mithraism into what it is known as today because of the widespread popularity of Christianity, thus making it mithraism that borrowed from Christianity rather than the other way around. To your point about my friend, while I do not believe in the validity of other religions, I try not to criticize them either. I was taught at a very young age never to do that. I don't believe that his shrine forced anything out that didn't leave willingly. In fact, I'm not convinced it left at all. It is possible that at the time we had our conversation about it ( 7 years ago ) it had simply chose to not manifest itself at that time. I haven't asked him about this since, but per this conversation I just may do that. As far as doubting my faith goes I believe the Scriptures encourage us to challenge our faith regularly. Study to shew thyself approved is only one scripture that comes to mind. I feel if we wall ourselves in and never challenge our faith how can we grow? I enjoy healthy spiritual debate and discussion whether I agree with the person I'm discussing it with or not. Some of the best conversations I've had were with atheists who knew quite a bit about the Scriptures. Anyway, I hope this answers your questions and I hope you have a blessed day.

It doesn't take any body with common sense long to understand that both Ed, and Lorraine Warren both are fakes.

Especially in the details of Annabelle. They have a rag doll behind a glass case to perpetuate a fraud that it is indeed possessed.

Yet when you examine the details. It's funny how neither Ed nor Lorraine were possessed beyond car trouble. Surely a "demon" isn't interested in possessing your car. And even further common sense proof the idea a glass display case will keep the demon at bay. Lol... Are you kidding me? It's amazing what people will take at face value.

The author of this article has offered nothing but their opinion. I've read numerous, detailed accounts from people directly involved in these accounts that had nothing to do with the Warrens - but they certainly echoed their findings. No research has been put into this article. This is nothing but one person's very apparent displeasure with Ed and Lorraine Warren, and they're walking a fine line into lawsuit territory. Funny how the author of this article draws the Warren's as wrong for making money, and then deliberately has an Adsense link attached to his site (which generates income for him). If I have to drive, eat, sleep in a hotel, and otherwise put my life on hold and drive to help someone who asks for my help then I think covering those expenses is justified. If we're all supposed to do it from the goodness of our heart, then I'm sure that Adsense link and any other sponsors that generate income for THIS site will be removed. Right? Yeah...I'm waiting with baited breath. Next time, try giving due diligence and actual research with citations if you're going to write an article. ANY article. News sources, law enforcement reports, independent interviews with family and friends - all of these things exist in each of these cases...and you reported on NONE of it.

Without getting in to an analysis of whether the Warrens could sue (successfully) for defamation, just wanted to point out that whoever posted that " as the defendant you are innocent until PROVEN guilty, not the other way around" is confused. That standard applies in criminal prosecutions, not civil law suits.

The first time I ever saw Lorraine was on paranormal state before I ever even knew who she was. She was totally lead in info by Ryan ,like saying "is it a older woman" and I personally thought she was not real,I found out who she was and thought I may be wrong. I am still undecided but I think possibly my first instinct was right.

I look at it this way: Who cares if the warrens were real or not? I don't. All I know is because of all those years, they have provided us with hours of awesome entertainment. The movies based on them have been award winning and highly entertaining. The Conjuring, was fantastic, especially the part when the woman gets trapped in the basement with the demon, and it claps it's hands behind her right when the light went out!! Anyone who got "hurt" by them had bigger problems then them. Rent the movies, pop some popcorn and enjoy.

I read somewhere that Lorraine still sees and speaks with Ed. I hope so. It's heartwarming to think that his death is being somewhat softened by her seeing and hearing him.
I also hope she speaks more on this, and that it will be made into another movie. I think that theme would be a box office hit.

I don't know how people can believe what the Warrens said. If one did a little research they would find out it is all about money and being popular and on TV.
They have made it bad for the few people who are serious about helping others. People will fall for anything and if it is on TV they believe it is true, truth is not found in reality shows and TV.

Before I start I just wanted to make sure people knew that I do not believe in Christianity, Islam, or Judaism, nor am I an atheist.

I believe in the goddess of all things.

now with that out of the way lets touch on those frauds, I always knew they was as to them it was always demons & devils.

Now I do believe in ghost, shadow people, elementals, & other such beings however unlike ghost, the other things come from alternate universes(Science has more or less stated there are alternate universes).

You gotta love all these lawsuit warnings and reminders about karma. Sad how a handful of mediocre horror movies have convinced people that Ed and Lorraine were legit.
Ronald DeFeo's lawyer admitted that he cooked up the Amityville story with the Warrens and Jay Anson. Ray Garton, a very respected horror author and the writer for the Connecticut case, has also come out to say they were full of shit.
How many people connected to the Warrens have to say it before people quit slavishly holding them in such high regard?
The Warrens rode that sweet paranormal gravy train and ended up retarding paranormal research by forcing it into an Abrahamic framework. Both of them were media chasers, religious showmen, misogynists, and charlatans.

Unfortunately, the Warrens were fooled on the Amityville Case. HOWEVER, there do have dozens of other true events they have researched. Now, I don't care for their style or Lorraine using psychic abilities and then using Catholic relics. One superstition after another. I do belive house have been cleared by them and they have been present at exorcisms. Their nephew Zaffis is taking over much if their legacy. I am not believing it all,nor refuting g it all either. There were places they went where others feared, and they had a hea,thy fear of evil. Not like todays' shows pulling it out for entert a inmdnt!

EXORCISMS, PEOPLE! They don't exist because demonic possession does not exist. It's the 21st century, people. Stop it with this debating about the legitimitacy of the Wardens claims. THEY NEVER PEFORMED EXORCISMS - ON PEOPLE OR HOUSES. They simply PERFORMED, they were performers. They had more in common with PT Barnum than they did with Mother Teresa. But again- seriously, stop the arguing- it's ridiculous.... EXORCISMS...really?

The fact that you are blatantly biased due to your own religious views all but discredits your claims. They may not have "real" evidence that people can see or touch, but isn't that the case with most paranormal happenings? And as far as that goes, you mention God multiple times. Is there any solid evidence that God exists, especially enough to hold up in a court of law? Absolutely not. When it comes to religion, paranormal activity, demons, etc. you pretty much believe what you want.

That is stable and intelligent adults do.

Kirby didn't "bash" them. Kirby posted facts you can check yourself. The Warren's have been caught lying countless times. Ranting on because someone spoke about a public figure as if it were a personal attack against you is childish, "Megan." It's grammar school playground nonsense. "Oooo Kenny doesn't like the same cartoon we do so we hate him. He's a big poopy head" You are either a shill for the Warren's, a family member of the Warren's, or a childish fool. I know a place that is right up your alley. Truth seekers all over the world go there in search of truth and wisdom. It's a mystical magical place. This place is called "Google" If Google were a psychic it would charge you to seek out the truth and then send you on to "The Onion" for answers to all your questions. Instead, it's a simple search engine that profits off you by exploiting your privacy and by using algorithms to target which crap you are most likely to buy and then bombarding you with ads for those items until, in a moment of weakness, you finally click on an ad. They are scamming us in the logical, techno-groovy, 21st century way. Pretending they are not doing exactly what they are doing. They, at least, provide you with many sources of the truth you sought when you utilized their search engine. Mediums and psychics lying to your face and rigging special effects is so year 1 to 20th century scamming. How dull. How dated. How stupid can you be? It's the 21st century but people still insist upon buying snake oil. Fools. Do some fact checking. Look into the lawsuit surrounding the Connecticut case. Read about the con job the Warren's pulled and the damage they caused.

Just the Amityville hoax is enough for stable people to acknowledge they are/were grifters. Defeo's lawyer flat out admitted to making the whole thing up with the Lutz's. There was absolutely no up side to him acknowledging that truth. None. There were never any demons in that house before the Warren's had that young man (that worked for them) pose for that picture. There have never been any demons in that house after the Warrens cashed in on the Lutz's scam. Ronald Defeo himself admitted he never "heard voices" that told him to kill. He said it was a con. An attempt to get out of the very deep shit he was in. Several years ago he was vying for his freedom with a new theory using purported evidence, they claim was available back then, that the murders were some how Mafia related. I can't remember if he was claiming totsl innocence or not. I didn't really care. The facts do support the theory that there was more than one real, in the flesh, human, that took part in the murders. There are none that support the fantasies you have bought hook, line, and sinker.

Her daughter has "the gift"? Of course she does. Grifters teach their children how to grift. That's just good grifter parenting. Everyone knows that. She has grown up seeing how lucrative it is to con suckers.

Santa does not stuff your stocking because the lord and savior was born. The Easter Bunny doesn't leave chocolate and jelly beans because Christ rose from the dead, there is no Tooth Fairy that pays you cash in exchange for your nasty ass body parts and Ed and Lorraine Warren are not nor ever have been demonologists, clairvoyant, or blessed with the gift of discernment. Well, at least not the gift of discerning whether spirits and demons are afoot. Lorraine has, however, mastered the gifts of discerning which people are suckers and the art of alchemy.

It's time to wake up and grow up. The Warren's have been and still are good story tellers. Nothing more.
