Issue 89 – Christianity, Buddhism & "I Am Six" News

By Kirby Robinson

We've never been as busy at the Eye as we have been over the past few weeks. Soon you'll be able to read the results of some shocking things we uncovered—and we don't get shocked easily.

A while back I took part in what was to be a fair and balanced interview but turned out to be an ambush interview on a radio show that I won't name. The group of "ladies" that took part showed their ignorance about Eastern religion and philosophy by making such statements as: the Hindu religion only has one god that they worship. Someone claimed that I couldn't be a Christian and study Tibetan Buddhism. I'd like to address this issue.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama isn't a God-King and he claims to be nothing more than a simple Buddhist monk. To study Tibetan Buddhism you don't worship anyone or anything. It's a system of belief that is meant to train your mind to follow the middle way and to show love and compassion.

I've been attacked by the misinformed, the misguided and those who seek to keep the deceptions going within the paranormal field that I must be a bad student. They allege there is lots of judging that goes on in this blog. Christ doesn't want doormats, He wants warriors who stand up when they witness those who take part in bad deeds.

Here are some books that show a linkage in Christianity and Buddhism:

The Good Heart: A Buddhist Perspective on the Teachings of Jesus
By The Dalai Lama

Without Buddha I Could Not be A Christian
By Paul F. Knitter

Living Buddha, Living Christ
By Thich Nhat Hanh

From Buddha to Jesus: An Insider's View of Buddhism and Christianity
By Steve Cioccolanti

If one takes the time to read any the above books, you'll see that a person can embrace the code of ethics and mind training and never violate the teachings of Christ. It's through Christ, and no way other than Him, that can you reach heaven.

NEVER MOCK GOD, NEVER MOCK THE DEVIL

Repeatedly I've stated that I was done with publishing books on PRS/Paranormal State. And I meant what I said. But back in August the phone rang at 4 AM and started a journey like no other that I've ever experienced and an investigation that changed my life.

We've heard about the case, watched the episode and heard the spin put on it by the para-celebs. Everyone connected to the case has been profiting from it for the past four years. Later this month, Ryan Buell/PRS will be hosting a 2-night event online for $75. You can watch them spin more tales, tell more lies, and show more fake footage.

Here's a recent post from Ryan Buell's page:

"I Am Six" is one of PRS's most talked about cases even to this day. Find out what happened after the cameras were turned off and how we held it together.
“I Am Six”: The story of Lara and her family’s struggle against darkness. The community rallied together around this family and now is your chance to find out what happened. Join PRS in a two part webinar series, Oct. 19th and 20th, where they will discuss the case, shed some new light on it, and interview some of those who witnessed it.

In our forthcoming eBook, you'll learn the real story and you won't have to spend $75.

You'll follow us to Quincy, Illinois and read what some of the locals have to say about the case--and about Lara who is known locally as Paranormal Girl. We visited the house, looked around and talked to the neighbors. What did they see and hear during the filming? We break down both episodes like no one else can and reveal the tricks and deceptions. We show the reader how the wounds could have been self-inflicted. We got our hands on a key piece of tape that the public wasn't ever meant to see. Most shocking of all, we stumble onto a secret that PRS and a certain para-celebrity hoped no one would ever discover.

We have returned to our realistic, hard hitting writing style and don't hold back. You'll want to read it from start to finish. And you'll learn why you don't mock GOD … or the devil.

The Dalai Lama & Peace of Mind

The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, delivered a public talk on Peace of Mind in Troubled Times at the Long Beach Arena at the Long Beach Convention Center on Saturday. I had the privilege of being in that audience and felt it was a positive experience to share.

The Dalai Lama was sponsored for this event by the Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Ling ("Land of Flourishing Dharma") a center for the study of Buddhism and the Tibetan culture.

The Dalai Lama is a powerful teacher in the line of Tibetan Buddhism. He speaks around the world appearing with many spiritual and political dignitaries. His words carry the refrains of nonviolence, compassion and human rights. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.

I was intrigued to find out that he would be speaking to the public and felt compelled to attend. When we arrived at the Wyland Whale arena the lines of people snaked around the building and well into the parking lot. The crowd was eclectic and diverse with many dressed casual, some in ethnic attire and others complete with designer six inch heels and the like.

The energy was calm and patient yet excited despite those excruciating lines to be searched to enter. There was of course one dissenter who barked his discourse even as he was regulated to be near the rows of portable toilets outside.

I heard some people say they had skipped work and traveled from many places in Southern California as well as other states and even Canada to be there. Comments ranged from “It is an opportunity of a life time,” to “I would not miss this for the world.”

Inside with an audience of close to 10,000, there was a prelude of a wonderful flute performance and one of my favorite actors, Richard Gere, introduced the Dalai Lama. His Holiness radiated a calm, mischievous and benevolent grace as he sat in the lotus position in his chair. He immediately relayed that the chair was so comfortable that he could sleep in it.

The Dalai Lama spoke English during his talk often aided by his interpreter who sat next to him. He was funny, and open almost like your grandfather telling stories in a humble way. His words held the audience in sway.

The gist of his talk could be summed up in that people who are in mental pain sometimes do not have a compassionate heart. When they are not compassionate they are judging and mistrustful which leads to other problems in society.

The key he summed up is to be in detachment and have mental peace. He related that it does not matter your spiritual perspective, your physical environment nor your physical state or property if you do not have this mental balance. He spoke a bit about nonviolence stating that it must also include condemnation of wrong actions.

It was a powerful event which seemed to touch and inspire the many attendees. I always encourage people to be in the presence of such teachers, and others when they come into town.

Some Ways to Obtain Mental Clarity

The Dalai Lama spoke about this mental peace yet he left it to the audience to discover the ways to find it. Of course the Dharma of Buddhism teaches how to obtain clarity. Yet many do not follow this spiritual practice.

I have found that meditating in the form of sitting and relaxing the mind or with actions such as writing, painting, creating, exercise, walking, dancing and cooking are helpful for a better mental attitude. Cleaning out our homes of clutter and getting rid of and releasing unused things also detoxes the mind.

Self-reflection, classes and workshops on personal development as well as talking to counselors, spiritual advisors and healing friends can help also. Our thoughts create, heal and empower us as well as others therefore it is important to be aware of our thoughts.

The Dalai Lama left us with a simple message which is that peace starts within each of us.

Are We Merely Clusters of Energy?

By Reverend Mark Hunnemann

Energy…what is it? Some would answer, “E=mc squared”. Don’t want a mathematical equation… “Okay, energy is the ability to do work.” That is only a functional definition of what it can do—I want to know what it IS. Do you realize that physicists cannot even explain what energy is, and yet a growing number of people believe that energy is ultimate reality, instead of a personal God? The basis of a 1,001 self-help books, wellness techniques and therapies, is this undefined concept, and it is re-shaping our perception of what under-girds both the natural and the supernatural realms.

“Sending prayers and positive energy”…gosh, how many times have I heard, or read on Facebook, a comment similar to that? How many times have you? The sending of positive energy has equaled, and in many cases eclipsed, the pledge of praying to the Living God from a friend to someone experiencing a trauma. Clearly, energy has taken on such a profound and practical significance for countless numbers of people—nothing reveals more about a person’s real, basic spiritual convictions than how they pray—that it has become THE central organizing principle in their worldviews. Hence, it is incumbent for Christians that we understand this issue and sift it through a biblical worldview grid…pulling down strongholds and arguments… that are raised against the knowledge of God (2 Cor.10:5).

Those who research and investigate the supernatural realm—from quantum jumping to spirit hunting—are increasingly seeing ultimate reality in terms of energy. Again, how many times have you heard, or said yourself, that trapped spirits are made of energy? EMF gauges certainly seem to verify that whatever is out there is emitting energy…that much is certain. However, it is a huge leap to go from energy to Energy, where the ultimate source of all reality is this Energy or cosmic consciousness. It has become not only personified but deified as well. This impersonal stuff that we call energy has now become our new god…our new reference point for defining the cosmos, mankind, and our relationship to the cosmos. In the beginning God created (bara—act of personal creating)…,has been replaced by…  In the beginning, Energy has always been there and is evolving….It has become commonplace to believe that we are currently experiencing a quantum leap into a higher form of consciousness or energy, and it is often stated that we are spirit energy in a body, and NOT vice versa. Welcome to Halloween 2012…

As I alluded to, this is no mere dry as dust academic theory, because it has become a paradigm or worldview shift in how one understands who they are, and how to become better at living and being human. Watch the plethora of energy healers attempting to adjust folk’s vibrational levels to harmonize with the vibrations of primal Energy.  And what must be noted with tears, is that often these energy therapies seem to work in terms of affecting vibrational change(what is really happening is not within our scope). May I suggest, though, that we are playing god in this respect, and are opening ourselves to deep demonic intervention. They (demons) are clever, and all it takes is openness to this Energy to potentially begin the possession process. Usually, at some opportune time, the demonic will find some imaginative way to gain permission for entry. We should have known better than to reject God and begin to call energy ultimate reality/god--Energy. Romans 1:18f speaks of the endarkenment, instead of the desired enlightenment, which comes when we deify, make ultimate, or worship any aspect of the Creator’s creation—including one of His greatest creations, which is energy.

To define human beings primarily in terms of energy clustering is to commit the reductionist fallacy. In other words, just because, in some sense, we are made of energy, it does not follow that we ARE energy. Consider a poem which is written in a book. There are levels of defining what that poem is, but we know instinctively that, saying that the poem is a collection of chemicals on a piece of paper, hardly does justice to explaining what a poem IS. Reducing a poem to ink on paper shows the absurdity of reductionism.  Though at the most basic level, this is technically correct, it hardly is the best, and certainly not the most comprehensive definition of a poem. What has happened to the distinctly human aspect of poetry—the expression of deep emotion, with an artistic, metric economy of wordsmithing, which is meant to communicate on a visceral level with others? You may define poetry differently, and much better, than I just have, but certainly this is much closer to the reality of what poetry is, rather than chemicals on paper. How much more horrible to take God’s image bearers and reduce them to matter/energy in motion? And if you are consistent, by rejecting an infinite/personal God, then this nihilistic definition of man is all you are left with.

It is not being intellectually consistent or honest to spell energy as Energy, because the bottom line is that this notion (energy is ultimate reality) implies that there was an impersonal beginning, and by adding upper-case you have imported personality—creating it out of thin air. The only reason why we sense or detect personality with the energy entities, is because they ARE personal beings—demons. Like humans, demons and Satan have a will, intelligence, and emotions. We have not dealt with ghosts per se, in this newsletter, but the concept of ultimate reality that often accompanies the belief in ghosts. In coming blogs we will look at specific examples of this Energy-centric worldview, as well as philosophical, scientific, and biblical problems it encounters. In the meantime, be wary of any talk of tapping into primal Energy or cosmic consciousness. In our weakness, let us cling to the God who was manifested through the burning bush—the infinite-personal God of the bible who has inexhaustible, omnipotent energy and power. The Lord is good…all the time.

An Author's Nightmare ~ Get Haunted!

By Lisa Maliga

"An Author's Nightmare" is a unique eBook as it combines psychological horror and chick lit. The idea got brewing in my mind earlier in the year after reading some bragging on an online forum about how successful a chick lit writer claimed she was. It gave me the idea of what would happen if…

Everything is going perfectly for hot young chick lit author Penelope Anne Pennington. Her serialized "Carlotta's Cakery" books are all bestsellers. She is about to launch a cakery in trendy Brentwood. A series of films based on her books are in pre-production, along with an upcoming reality TV show. Best of all, Penelope has romance in her life with Wayne Stillman, her attorney boyfriend/soon-to-be-fiancé!

But something strange is happening to all her outgoing correspondence — what she sends isn’t what her correspondents receive. To make matters worse, bizarre printed and electronic correspondence is being sent to her. Why is this happening? Is it a rival author? Is it someone that is jealous of all her success and wants to derail her happiness? Or is it something more dark and malevolent, something not of this world?

This 63-page eBook is approximately 17,000 words long. Only $1.99!

Issue 88 Real Exorcisms

By Kirby Robinson

I've been working on my new book called NEVER MOCK GOD, NEVER MOCK THE DEVIL. It's about an unauthorized investigation into Paranormal State's infamous "I AM SIX CASE" that was first aired back in 2008.

I'd like to extend my thanks to the people who've been helping with our trip to Quincy, Illinois and our investigation there, including getting inside the house. I can't thank those who helped enough. They've asked what real case looks like? How does a real exorcism sound? So I've decided to share some videos that will open many eyes to what is both an amazing example of the power of God, but at the same time a look into hell itself.

Here is what might some call the case to end all cases:

Here is an extended audio tape from the case. I strongly advise you to only listen to a few seconds of it. Not all demonically possessed people sound this bad, but if the client is speaking in their own voice that would be a red flag for me.

A Collaboration Between Science and Religion

By His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama

These are times when destructive emotions like anger, fear and hatred are giving rise to devastating problems throughout the world. While the daily news offers grim reminders of the destructive power of such emotions, the question we must ask is, what can we do to overcome them?

Of course such disturbing emotions have always been part of the human condition - humanity has been grappling with them for thousands of years. But I believe we have a valuable opportunity to make progress in dealing with them, through a collaboration between religion and science.

With this in mind, I have, since 1987, engaged in an ongoing series of dialogues with groups of scientists. Organized by the Mind & Life Institute, they have been on topics ranging from quantum physics and cosmology to compassion and destructive emotions. I have found that while scientific findings offer a deeper understanding of such fields of knowledge as cosmology, it seems that Buddhist explanations can sometimes give scientists a new way to look at their own field.

Our dialogue has provided benefits not just for science, but also for religion. Though Tibetans have valuable knowledge about the internal world, we have been materially backward partly because of a lack of scientific knowledge. Buddhist teachings stress the importance of understanding reality. Therefore, we should pay attention to what modern scientists have actually found through experiment and through measurement the things they have proved to be reality.

At the beginning of these dialogues there were very few of us from the Buddhist side at first just myself and two translators. But recently, we have started to introduce modern science studies in our monasteries, and at our most recent science dialogue there were twenty or so Tibetan monks in the audience. The goals of the dialogue are on two levels. One is at the academic level, the expansion of knowledge. Generally speaking science has been an extraordinary tool for understanding the material world, making vast progress in our lifetime though of course there are still many things to explore. But modern science does not seem to be as advanced regarding internal experiences.

In contrast, Buddhism, an ancient Indian thought, reflects a deep investigation into the workings of the mind. Over the centuries many people have carried out what we might call experiments in this field and have had significant, even extraordinary, experiences as a result of practices based on their knowledge. Therefore, more discussion and joint study between scientists and Buddhists scholars on the academic level could be useful for the expansion of human knowledge.

On another level, if humanity is to survive, happiness and inner peace are crucial. Otherwise the lives of our children and their children are likely to be unhappy, desperate and short. The tragedy of 11th September 2001 demonstrated that modern technology and human intelligence guided by hatred can lead to immense destruction. Material development certainly contributes towards happiness - to some extent - and a comfortable way of life.  But this is not sufficient.  To achieve a deeper level of happiness we cannot neglect our inner development.  I feel, for example, that our sense of fundamental human values has not kept pace with powerful new developments in our material abilities.

For that reason I have been encouraging scientists to examine advanced Tibetan spiritual practitioners, to see what effects of their spiritual practice might be of benefit to others, outside the religious context. One approach would be to take the help of scientists in trying to make the workings of these inner methods clear. The important point here is to increase our understanding of the world of the mind, of consciousness, and of our emotions.

Experiments have already been carried out that show some practitioners can achieve a state of inner peace, even when facing disturbing circumstances. The results show such people to be happier, less susceptible to destructive emotions, and more attuned to the feelings of others. These methods are not just useful, but cheap: you don't need to buy anything or make anything in a factory. You don't need a drug or an injection.

The next question is how are we to share these beneficial results with people beyond those who happen to be Buddhists. This does not concern Buddhism as such or any other religious tradition - it is simply a matter of trying to make clear the potential of the human mind. Everybody, whether rich or poor, educated or uneducated, has the potential to lead a peaceful, meaningful life. We must explore as far as we can how that can be brought about.

In the course of that exploration, it will become obvious that most disturbances are stimulated not by external causes but by such internal events as the arising of disturbing emotions. The best antidote to these sources of disruption will come about through enhancing our ability to handle these emotions ourselves. Eventually we need to develop an awareness that provides the ways and means to overcome negative, disturbing emotions ourselves.

The spiritual methods are available, but we must make these acceptable to the mass who may not be spiritually inclined.  Only if we can do that will these methods have the widest of effect.  This is important because science, technology, and material development cannot solve all our problems. We need to combine our material development with the inner development of such human values as compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, contentment and self-discipline.

New Age Seductions

By V. K. Bronz

I would like to share a personal experience I had about 37 years ago. I realize there are many who don’t believe in God or the supernatural abilities people have, so I ask that you please don’t just dismiss what I have written the minute you see the word God. After all personal experiences should not be pushed aside just because our personal beliefs are being tested.

When I first got saved I was totally ignorant of the gifts the Lord has given each Christian that he might overcome the wiles of the enemy, never the less the Lord taught me quickly.

I had a voracious appetite for the Lord and I wanted to know everything I possibly could regarding the things of the Lord; I read and read everything I could get my hands on, until one day I was reading an auto biography of a turn of the century saint, As I read I felt in my spirit a change of the spirit behind the words. What was even more strange, is I recognized the “feel” of the spirit that was in those words. I know this is a strange statement but as I read that autobiography it was written by one person and the sentence I had just read was written by a different person; I could feel the difference plain as day. I looked at the producers of the book and sure enough it was the “spirit” of the person I had recognized when I read that one sentence!

The producers of that book had changed the wording to have it mean something entirely different than what the original author had intended.

Fast forward thirty years later and I was writing on the holiness of God when I noticed in the footnotes of a very old book a reference to “The Book of Enoch”. Somewhere out there was supposedly another book of the bible that was not included in the bible. This book had been “found” during the second century.

I began to research and quickly found that this “lost” book of the bible had been translated in the seventies. I began to read it and was so blessed by the praises of our God expressed by the Angels and the story of Enoch’s close knit little family sharing the word to each other. What word you say, back then before it was written, the wonderful knowledge the Angels came down and began to share with them. Yes, this book said the Angels came down and began to share all the hidden knowledge of the creation of the world. They introduced themselves giving their names and who they were. I felt a check in my spirit (unease) because it has been my experience Angels never point to themselves they point you to God. I pushed the check aside because their praise of God had touched me so.

As I read my spirit kept feeling a coldness almost like what you see in some of these movies out now that are all black and dark metallic looking and feeling. I pushed it aside and kept reading because after-all the angels were praising God so beautifully. When it came time for the Angels to explain to Enoch (the angels had taken him to heaven to show the wonders of God) who that third person was with God and the Holy Spirit, they didn't say he would be the savior of the world they did say he was the son of god but no mention of the sinless lamb of God. It was like oh that’s the son of God. Period. On to next subject. The red flags flew, the alarm bells rang, yet I still dismissed this by thinking, well this is before the Lord came to earth .

I also took notice that every time the Angels were in heaven with Enoch and they saw God, he was always at a distance and was not approachable. Now if God had sent his Angels to tell this little family of Adam and Eve all the secrets of the universe why would he never have anything to do with Enoch when he came to heaven? Remember Enoch walked with God and was not. God walked with him on the earth their relationship was so close that he took him to heaven without death on a chariot. And God is our Father he has a loving father’s heart, why would there be no fellowship with Enoch like there was on earth.

As I came to the end of the story there was reference to a “Book of Noah” so I quickly read it. I was so put off by the blatant fantastical description of Noah’s son Lemech sitting up at his birth praising god with bazaar looking features of red eyes and snow white hair and skin, but as I read it I felt that same coldness I felt with “The Book of Enoch”.

When I was finished reading the Holy Spirit prompted me to go to the word; as I began to read the word of God I felt the familiar sweet soft loving presence of the Lord who is the word, as I read I immediately knew the cold distant dead word I had just read was NOT from God. Not only did I feel the presence of the Lord as the word, I had a vision; the life that is the word was coming off of the page like a fog and entering into me. I began to cry and thank the Lord for his Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth; at that moment I knew if I had received that false book I would have received the false “demon” or spirit that was attached to it and forever more it would have perverted the true word of God in me. I was and still am shocked at the enemy’s ability to be the angel of light, there seemed to be no difference between him and the Lord. The difference is indiscernible; had it not been for the loving Lord showing me, it would have fooled me.

Oh people, this is what This New Age has done, authors and preachers take what feels good and sounds good twisting the truth just enough to get us to except it, using a different word that sounds close, changing other peoples words to mean what benefits them and in receiving what they say we receive damnation because we are excepting demons unaware. Even the number one bible translator in the world; Wycliffe, has fallen. They have taken the words Father and son out of the bible translations because it offends Muslims. No longer will people read Jesus is the son of God but now they have changed it to he is Lord. No longer will people read God is our Father but it will read Allah. I was tempted to do the same when I wrote this article. I knew the minute I mentioned the word God many would stop reading; but I can’t let the desire to have my experience heard cause me to omit part of the truth. I would be just as guilty. I feel so sorry for those so afraid of having their beliefs challenged that they can’t even respect each other enough to hear what they are saying.

But then again if we read more of other peoples words than Gods we won’t know him, just a shadow of him and The age old trick of Satan, to take the truth and ever so slightly twist it so it no longer means what God said, but now is a pathway to hell, will be effectively used on us.

Anytime we are told there is hidden knowledge or secrets no one else knows BEWARE this is where the Mormons got their religion. The “Angels” told John Smith the secrets of attaining paradise. Anytime anyone such as Rick Warren or any person tries to tell you your purpose is something different than Loving the Lord God with all of your heart soul mind and body run like hell. If there is a supernatural world out there then it stands to reason there has to be the one who created it. There is nothing more glorious and holy then being given the honor and position of Sons of God.
