Issue 110 – “Ghost Inside My Child” The Web of Deceptions [Part 4]

Radio Appearance

Next week I’m scheduled for a radio show where I’ll discuss demonology.
Wednesday, April 10th at 9 PM [EST]
Twilight Paranormal Radio Show

The Leininger Case Conclusion

Where is the proof that any of the events ever took place? We see no video proof the child acted this way. We have no audio proof that James ever said these things.

It’s easy to sit in front of the camera and report such stories. I guess the family and the producers expect us to blindly accept these statements.

One thing to note is that the majority of videos concerning the three kids featured in “Ghost Inside My Child” aren’t actually of the children, but are reenactments of the events.

James’s parents tout that the paintings prove his stories. James states, “When I draw these pictures I don’t know.” Of course, he wouldn’t as the resident artist in that household is Andrea. She’s the one who studied art. She guided her son in the drawing.

They come up with the idea that James is the name of the pilot that died. This is easy to remember, as it’s his current name. Also, James is a very common name for that era. When they locate a James that died, he didn’t fly the right plane. The family claims it was a Corsair, a very common plane for that era in the Pacific conflict. However, this James didn’t fly one. Such details don’t bother Andrea. She says “it doesn’t matter that is our son.”

They locate a living sister to the dead pilot, James Huston. The family talks to his now elderly sister, Anne Barron, on the phone. Later they all meet, claiming that James knows all these things about her and that is all the proof you need to buy the story.

What the viewer is never told is that they had many long talks on the phone with the sister. What information did she tell them that they could share with the son?

Andrea becomes tired of the case and decides it’s time to move on, close the book, and I guess start writing another one to further cash in on the story. There is one last deception to explain away towards the end of the narrative. They state that they decided to go to the place where James Huston was shot down and have a memorial service for him.

But the above is not the truth. They were hired to be on a Japanese TV show to discuss their case and this was all part in the TV program.

Lastly, they say James drew a new picture minus all the violence. We see the drawing and James is older but the style matches the early drawing exactly.

Maybe the moral of the story is that when you’re in tough financial straits and you want to start a business, make up a wild story, turn it into a book and exploit your child.

Oklahoma City Bombing -- the Reincarnate Can’t Get the Story Right

The next case features Beth from Tipp City, Ohio a single mom [a common feature just like it was on Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal]. Beth has three daughters. The youngest, Carson, begins talking about the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, when she is five-years of age. The girl gets the story wrong. She says that the driver of the truck was a nice man who did a bad thing by driving his truck into the Federal Building and it blew up.
 al
The driver of the truck was Timothy McVeigh, who by all the reports we could uncover, was moody and withdrawn. He was at war with the “oppressive Federal Government” due to buying into the many conspiracy theories of the ‘90s. “Nice men” don’t blow up buildings. You can read more about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_City_bombing

Timothy McVeigh didn’t drive the truck into the building. He parked the truck in front of building and walked away. A timer set the bomb off.

Two questions we have to ask:

1 If Carson was inside the building, how did she know how the building blew up?

2 Is this not a sign the story is made up? This is a logical assumption that a person would drive a truck into a building and blow it up [often featured in books, TV, film]?

That is all the proof we are given to establish that this child is really a reincarnate, outside of one incident—Carson tells Beth she liked her Oklahoma mom better.

The pair journey to Oklahoma to see the site of the bombing. There aren’t any new details and when the mom said they both cried we see no tears from either of them.

Case 3 ~ “Mom, I’m Falling and My Brains Are on the Sidewalk!

A mom is convinced her child died during the terror attacks on 9/11. Can I get a book deal?

Molly and Rick from Land O’ Lakes, Florida, have an exceptional child by the name of Cade. Grandmother Fae claims that as a baby, he looked at people in an odd fashion. The boy was an early bloomer, walking and talking before the age of three. Cade claims he was killed falling from a high-rise. The family decides it has to be the Twin Towers. They claim airplanes scare Cade, yet he’s interested in them. We see a shot of one he got for Christmas. How does it scare him if he plays with them?

Additionally they claim tall buildings scare him and he doesn’t want to go in them.

Never are we shown the fits and the results of the nightmares he suffers.

Was he force-fed this information?

Over time, he comes up with more information. The family claims it proves he died in the 9/11 terror attacks. What that information is we are never told. Here are some interesting things to point out.

1 Cade claims that as he was falling he could hear things rattle inside him. From what we could uncover from accounts of people who survived long falls, there are no accounts of people hearing their insides rattle.

2 The boy claims that he died as he hit the pavement and could see his brains spread across the sidewalk. There a few issues about this.

A. You die from the shock of such a long fall prior to hitting the pavement.

B. In none of his accounts does he ever mention the hundreds of police, firefighters, EMT’s, and their cars, trucks, etc around the World Trade Center.

3 There is a shot of Cade walking across a bridge between two tall buildings. How could he have a fear of tall buildings and do this? He exhibits no signs of discomfort such as crying or shaking. We only see a young boy walking across the bridge.

The mother claims Cade said he wanted a new name. Yet she fails to reveal what it is.

Another fun fact: Molly goes to the message board run by guess who? Carol Bowman. She’s that past life regression therapist seen in the Leininger episode.

The story wraps up with claims that Cade is having trouble in school and many teachers have complained of his behavior. If you look at the notes, they are all written on the same type of paper and in the same style of writing.

In the end, you have one thing going on: EXPLOITATION.

Training the Mind: Verse 8

In the final verse, we read:

May all this remain undefiled
By the stains of the eight mundane concerns;
And may I, recognizing all things as illusion,
Devoid of clinging, be released from bondage.

The first two lines of this verse are very critical for a genuine practitioner. The eight mundane concerns are attitudes that tend to dominate our lives generally. They are: becoming elated when someone praises you, becoming depressed when someone insults or belittles you, feeling happy when you experience success, being depressed when you experience failure, being joyful when you acquire wealth, feeling dispirited when you become poor, being pleased when you have fame, and feeling depressed when you lack recognition.

A true practitioner should ensure that his or her cultivation of altruism is not defiled by these thoughts. For example, if, as I am giving this talk, I have even the slightest thought in the back of my mind that I hope people admire me, then that indicates that my motivation is defiled by mundane considerations, or what the Tibetans call the “eight mundane concerns.” It is very important to check oneself and ensure that is not the case. Similarly, a practitioner may apply altruistic ideals in his daily life, but if all of a sudden he feels proud about it and thinks, “Ah, I’m a great practitioner,” immediately the eight mundane concerns defile his practice. The same applies if a practitioner thinks, “I hope people admire what I’m doing,” expecting to receive praise for the great effort he is making. All these are mundane concerns that spoil one’s practice, and it is important to ensure that this is does not happen so we keep our practice pure.

As you can see, the instructions that you can find in the lo-jong teachings on transforming the mind are very powerful. They really make you think. For example there is a passage which says:

May I be gladdened when someone belittles me, and may I not take pleasure when someone praises me. If I do take pleasure in praise then it immediately increases my arrogance, pride, and conceit; whereas if I take pleasure in criticism, then at least it will open my eyes to my own shortcomings.

This is indeed a powerful sentiment.

Up to this point we have discussed all the practices that are related to the cultivation of what is known as “conventional bodhichitta,” the altruistic intention to become fully enlightened for the benefit of all sentient beings. Now, the last two lines of the Eight Verses relate to the practice of cultivating what is known as “ultimate bodhichitta,” which refers to the development of insight into the ultimate nature of reality.

Although the generation of wisdom is part of the bodhisattva ideal, as embodied in the six perfections, generally speaking, as we saw earlier, there are two main aspects to the Buddhist path-method and wisdom. Both are included in the definition of enlightenment, which is the non-duality of perfected form and perfected wisdom. The practice of wisdom or insight correlates with the perfection of wisdom, while the practice of skillful means or methods correlates with the perfection of form.

The Buddhist path is presented within a general framework of what are called Ground, Path, and Fruition. First, we develop an understanding of the basic nature of reality in terms of two levels of reality, the conventional truth and the ultimate truth; this is the ground. Then, on the actual path, we gradually embody meditation and spiritual practice as a whole in terms of method and wisdom. The final fruition of one’s spiritual path takes place in terms of the non-duality of perfected form and perfected wisdom.

The last two lines read:

And may I, recognizing all things as illusion,
Devoid of clinging, be released from bondage.

These lines actually point to the practice of cultivating insight into the nature of reality, but on the surface they seem to denote a way of relating to the world during the stages of post-meditation. In the Buddhist teachings on the ultimate nature of reality, two significant time periods are distinguished; one is the actual meditation on emptiness, and the other is the period subsequent to the meditative session when you engage actively with the real world, as it were. So, here, these two lines directly concern the way of relating to the world in the aftermath of one’s meditation on emptiness. This is why the text speaks of appreciating the illusion-like nature of reality, because this is the way one perceives things when one arises from single-pointed meditation on emptiness.

In my view, these lines make a very important point because sometimes people have the idea that what really matters is single-pointed meditation on emptiness within the meditative session. They pay much less attention to how this experience should be applied in post-meditation periods. However, I think the post-meditation period is very important. The whole point of meditating on the ultimate nature of reality is to ensure that you are not fooled by appearances can often be deluding. With a deeper understanding of reality, you can go beyond appearances and relate to the world in a much more appropriate, effective, and realistic manner.

I often give the example of how we should relate to our neighbors. Imagine that you are living in a particular part of town where interaction with your neighbors is almost impossible, and yet it is actually better if you do interact with them rather than ignore them. To do so in the wisest way depends on how well you understand your neighbors’ personality. If, for example, the man living next door is very resourceful, then being friendly and communicating with him will be to your benefit. At the same time, if you know that deep down he can also be quite tricky, that knowledge is invaluable if you are to maintain a cordial relationship and be vigilant so that he does not take advantage of you. Likewise, once you have a deeper understanding of the nature of reality, then in post-meditation, when you actually engage with the world, you will relate to people and things in a much more appropriate and realistic manner.

When the text refers to viewing all phenomena as illusions, it is suggesting that the illusion-like nature of things can only be perceived if you have freed yourself from attachment to phenomena as independent discrete entities. Once you have succeeded in freeing yourself from such attachment, the perception of the illusion-like nature of reality will automatically arise. Whenever things appear to you, although they appear to have an independent or objective existence, you will know as a result of your meditation that this is not really the case. You will be aware that things are not as substantial and solid as they seem. The term “illusion” therefore points to the disparity between how you perceive things and how they really are.

Next week a new blog series will begin.

Training the Mind: Verse 7

The seventh verse summarizes all the practices that we have been discussing. It reads:

In brief, may I offer benefit and joy
To all my mothers, both directly and indirectly,
May I quietly take upon myself
All hurts and pains of my mothers.

This verse presents a specific Buddhist practice known as “the practice of giving and taking” (tong len), and it is by means of the visualization of giving and taking that we practice equalizing and exchanging ourselves with others.

“Exchanging ourselves with others” should not be taken in the literal sense of turning oneself into the other and the other into oneself. This is impossible anyway. What is meant here is a reversal of the attitudes one normally has towards oneself and others. We tend to relate to this so-called “self” as a precious core at the center of our being, something that is really worth taking care of, to the extent that we are willing to overlook the well-being of others. In contrast, our attitude towards others often resembles indifference; at best we may have some concern for them, but even this may simply remain at the level of a feeling or an emotion. On the whole we are indifferent we have towards others’ well-being and do not take it seriously. So the point of this particular practice is to reverse this attitude so that we reduce the intensity of our grasping and the attachment we have to ourselves, and endeavor to consider the well-being of others as significant and important.

When approaching Buddhist practices of this kind, where there is a suggestion that we should take harm and suffering upon ourselves, I think it is vital to consider them carefully and appreciate them in their proper context. What is actually being suggested here is that if, in the process of following your spiritual path and learning to think about the welfare of others, you are led to take on certain hardships or even suffering, then you should be totally prepared for this. The texts do not imply that you should hate yourself, or be harsh on yourself, or somehow wish misery upon yourself in a masochistic way. It is important to know that this is not the meaning.

Another example we should not misinterpret is the verse in a famous Tibetan text which reads, “May I have the courage if necessary to spend aeons and aeons, innumerable lifetimes, even in the deepest hell realm.” The point that is being made here is that the level of your courage should be such that if this is required of you as part of the process of working for others’ well-being, then you should have the willingness and commitment to accept it.

A correct understanding of these passage is very important, because otherwise you may use them to reinforce any feelings of self-hatred, thinking that if the self is the embodiment of self-centeredness, one should banish oneself into oblivion. Do not forget that ultimately the motivation behind wishing to follow a spiritual path is to attain supreme happiness, so, just as one seeks happiness for oneself one is also seeking happiness for others. Even from a practical point of view, for someone to develop genuine compassion towards others, first he or she must have a basis upon which to cultivate compassion, and that basis is the ability to connect to one’s own feelings and to care for one’s own welfare. If one is not capable of doing that, how can one reach out to others and feel concern for them? Caring for others requires caring for oneself.

The practice of tong len, giving and taking, encapsulates the practices of loving-kindness and compassion: the practice of giving emphasizes the practice of loving-kindness, whereas the practice of taking emphasizes the practice of compassion.

Shantideva suggests an interesting way of doing this practice in his Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life. It is a visualization to help us appreciate the shortcomings of self-centeredness, and provide us with methods to confront it. On one side you visualize your own normal self, the self that is totally impervious to others’ well-being and an embodiment of self-centeredness. This is the self that only cares about its own well-being, to the extent that it is often willing to exploit others quite arrogantly to reach it sown ends. Then, on the other side, you visualize a group of beings who are suffering, with no protection and no refuge. You can focus your attention on specific individuals if you wish. For example, if you wish to visualize someone you know well and care about, and who is suffering, then you can take that person as a specific object of your visualization and do the entire practice of giving and taking in relation to him or her. Thirdly, you view yourself as a neutral third person impartial observer, who tries to assess whose interest is more important here. Isolating yourself in the position of neutral observer makes it easier for you to see the limitations of self-centeredness, and realize how much fairer and more rational it is to concern yourself with the welfare of other sentient beings.

As a result of this visualization, you slowly begin to feel an affinity with others and a deep empathy with their suffering, and at this point you can begin the actual meditation of giving and taking.

In order to carry out the meditation on taking, it is often quite helpful to do another visualization. First, you focus your attention on suffering beings, and try to develop and intensify your compassion towards them, to the point where you feel that their suffering is almost unbearable. At the same time, however, you realize that there is not much you can do to help them in a practical sense. So in order to train yourself to become more effective, with a compassionate motivation you visualize taking upon yourself their suffering, the cause of their suffering, their negative thoughts and emotions, and so forth. You can do this by imagining all their suffering and negativity as a stream of dark smoke, and you visualize this smoke dissolving into you.

In the context of this practice you can also visualize sharing your own positive qualities with others. You can think of any meritorious actions that you have done, any positive potential that may lie in you, and also any spiritual knowledge or insight that you may have attained. You send them out to other sentient beings, so that they too can enjoy their benefits. You can do this by imagining your qualities in the form of either a bright light or a whitish stream of light, which penetrates other beings and is absorbed into them. This is how to practice the visualization of taking and giving.

Of course, this kind of meditation will not have a material effect on others because it is a visualization, but what it can do is help increase your concern for others and your empathy with their suffering, while also helping to reduce the power of your self-centeredness. These are the benefits of the practice.

This is how you train your mind to cultivate the altruistic aspiration to help other sentient beings. When this arises together with the aspiration to attain full enlightenment, then you have realized bodhichitta, that is, the altruistic intention to become fully enlightened for the sake of all sentient beings.

Truth is Stranger Than Fiction: Chip Coffey Liar Liar, Pants On Fire

Due to popular demand, we've decided to rerun this infamous blog in honor of April the 1st.

By Beatrice Marot

Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him or around him and so
loses all respect for himself and for others and having no respect he ceases to love.
~Fyodor Dostoyevsky

I have to warn you . . .  you are about to enter the Goddess Zone. My life is very unique and if you’re going to read my story, I only ask for you to be open, to let go of your limitations because I am about to take you on an adventure beyond reality as you know it.

My name Beatrice means “Bringer of Joy” and I like to think so and in order to tell my story I have to introduce you to my spirit guide, Merlin who is my co-star and director in spirit and by the time I am done sharing my daring tale you will understand exactly how real Merlin is in my life.

Kirby Robinson has asked me many times to share my story of the nightmare that I went through with Chip Coffey, but I have always declined in the past. I have never sought to hurt Chip Coffey even though he deliberately destroyed my life and livelihood as a top rated psychic on Keen.com.  The only thing I have ever sought from Chip Coffey is that he simply tell the truth and apologize and all will be forgiven.

But a soul energy like Chip Coffey cannot tell the truth, they cannot bear to be wrong or “found out” and the mask of civility they wear is simply that, a mask that hides the true motives behind every grafter that ever walked the Earth. They need and desire above all else power, fame, wealth and control.  In modern times we call them sociopaths, in ancient times we called them demons.

Sociopaths are incredibly charming, clever, witty, a real pleasure to be around and as long as they are the center of attention, as long as your light does not outshine theirs, as long as you live and breathe to manifest their dreams you are cherished and adored. And Chip did adore me for two years. We spoke several times a week. I shared my most intimate secrets with him.  He was my confidante and my dear friend and I loved him like a brother. I shared with him all of my knowledge and wisdom about the spiritual realms and he was always the eager listener, once telling me in that confident tone he exudes with his charming southern vernacular, “You know Beatrice, you’re gonna be famous . . . you mesmerize people.” To which I would giggle, “Oh Chip, you’re so sweet.”

You are cherished and adored as long as you serve them and their agenda but when you become a threat, you must be eliminated and there is no mercy. The speed at which a true sociopath will change their colors is lighting and they will spin a story to absurdity . . . rather than admit the truth and in this case, that Chip Coffey did a great wrong to a good friend.

This is a story about friendship and betrayal told with facts and without judgment because betrayal is at the core of all the ills that affect our society and my purpose in life is to inspire change and raise the consciousness on the planet and every single person that I read for is also here for that reason. In order to do that effectively, I had to experience the incredible pain of betrayal and unreal cruelty at the hands of someone to whom I did absolutely nothing to but be a cherished friend. Alas, I made a great faux pas in the eyes of the grafter . . . I became number one psychic in Voices From Beyond on Keen.com

My story is not meant as a means to seek revenge on Chip Coffey for the betrayal of my friendship and the cold callousness with which Chip continues to play puppeteer to some very misguided souls. The women that have been my tormentors who do his bidding are truly the blind being led by the blind. I am a true seer and by sharing my story, you will come to know the difference between a real seer and sincere healer and a cold reader and clever raconteur.

My story is not to malign Chip Coffey. Chip Coffey is simply a character in a morality play that will allow me to teach very important life lessons that you really do reap what you sow. I hope to inspire those reading my story to walk the path of truth and whatever your beliefs are, the truth is the same for everyone. The truth is an ideal energy that vibrates at a frequency of love and when that truth is realized, a human being treats all beings as a part of themselves and you would never betray yourself now would you?

And this is where my spirit guide Merlin comes in and just so you know, like most spirit guides, Merlin is very funny and he is always making me laugh even through the darkest times and at times, the times got really really dark to the point where I almost committed suicide and I ended up in the loony bin on a three day involuntary hold.

It was funny when the Doctor asked me the question, “Do you hear voices?”

“Yes, I get paid to hear voices, but they didn’t tell me to kill myself, that was me.”

As I sat down to write the first chapter, I asked Merlin, “Well, what should the first chapter of my story be called?” And in the same moment, uploaded a podcast on my Facebook page by Reap Paden aka The Angry Atheist who was sent by God as my Angel and Knight in Rusty Armor called “Liars” with a graphic of a pair of pants on fire and I heard Merlin say, “Call it, Chip Coffey …Liar Liar, Pants on Fire.”

Stay tuned to the light  . . .

This is a podcast featuring Bea Marot on Reap Paden's Angry Atheist radio show.

Let Me Introduce You to My Jesus

By Kirby Robinson
copyright 2008-2013

Over the past few years there has been an effort to alter the story of Jesus Christ, His life, and how he died. These fictitious alterations have more often been wrong than right, and have confused and bewildered people, thus causing inner conflict and doubt.

I’m going to write about my Jesus, the Jesus that I have grown to love, admire, respect, but never completely comprehend. My Jesus is the only Son of God. Sent here to earth to end the need for the Law of Perfection that the world suffered under until the day He was nailed to the cross. Born of Mary, a virgin, and Joseph, his earthly father, He was not a child of some rabbi or spiritual leader, or of a Roman centurion. Jesus, the child, turned into a man who under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Lord himself, was taught all the knowledge to understand and comprehend His role in the struggle of good over evil, of light over darkness, of love over anger, and of peace over unrest.

If He did travel to India and Tibet to study under great masters, that’s fine, but it’s not important. If He didn’t, that’s good as well. If He got caught up in politics and wanted to see Israel free of Roman power, so what? He was a man, He had the power to think, and speak His own thoughts. But none of that really matters. Was he married to Mary Magdalene? Had children, even? Again, that’s not an issue that I hang any great importance upon. For what is the greatest expression of being a man loving a woman and giving life to a child? So if he experienced this, great. If not, then He sacrificed a normal family life so that he could serve all of mankind. Did He come up with totally original and new ideas about the world? Some bold, brave, and new kind of thinking? No. Does that make him less a teacher if His message is simply one of love and compassion? Caring for your fellow man? That there can be victory over illness, suffering, and bondage in this very life and in death? That there is the reward of being one with the Father and being reunited with your loved ones? The most excellent truths we can seek are often the old ones. And when He learned what the final act of His earthy life had to be, the betrayal, the trial, the beatings and floggings, carrying His own instrument of death, and finally, hours of suffering, being nailed up on the cross. Nails driven through both His hands and feet. With bones broken, organs bruised, blood flowing from countless cuts, He knew what He had been born to do. Not only had He come to give a message to an unlistening world, but also He came to this earth to live and die for all of us.

As His last breath left his body, He spoke: "Why hast thou forsaken me?" and "Blame them not for what they do for they know not." His blood flowing to the ground to pay a price so we can seek healing and salvation. With His breath gone, His body moved into a tomb, the darkest hours of Christ’s life was at hand. There was one final task He had to do. The hardest and most challenging task still lay ahead.

Christ had to descend and stay in hell for 72 hours. Alone, cut off from angels, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord Himself. He had to endure 72 hours of torment. What deepest recesses of hell He must have been cast down into. What manner of demons must have been unleashed upon Him? His spiritual body must have been torn to shreds. The devil, Lucifer and Satan only had 72 hours to force Christ into forsaking His power. Understand that Lucifer has access to the heavens. He knew about Revelation and the final conflict to be played out in Armageddon, and he knew that unless he broke Christ, he was going to lose the battle.

Jesus Christ is and was the ultimate Bodhisattva, (the Sanskrit term Bodhi [enlightenment] and sattva [being], meaning someone who releases all sentient beings from suffering). He had to take on all forms of physical illnesses during those hours on the cross. Every infirmity ever known to man, Christ had to endure. So we could be healed. Think of that, will you? Every form of cancer, every infection, virus, and germ released on his body. Every form of mental illness was unleashed on his mind. Each and every major and minor sin He endured. He had to go to hell and suffer the full might of evil for every single person that had been born, for all times, past, present and future. He paid the price for believers and nonbelievers. This is what grants us the grace of salvation for those who seek it. This is what grants us dominion to cast out demons. If Kirby Robinson’s name were used to cast out a demon, the dark forces would laugh, as I have no spiritual authority. But because of the dark hours that Christ spent in hell, He never gave up. He could have, but He didn’t. He knew that if HE could not withstand the onslaught of evil, then who could? Not you, nor I, but only Him.

Why is it that more and more people are trying to take Jesus off the cross and turn His works and teachings into myths and lies? His life was led to the fullest for every single person that has and will ever inhabit this planet. Some have been insinuating that His life was part of some wild conspiracy. He used the cross as a means of escape. He snuck out of Israel and lived under an assumed name in another country. A wise man once said that the smartest thing that the devil ever did was to convince people that he did not exist. I say, the smartest thing the devil ever did is convince people that Christ did not pay the ultimate price. He may sell that bill of goods to others, but not to me. I have Christ in my heart, spirit, and mind. My Christ lived for me, my Christ taught for me, my Christ suffered for me, my Christ died for me, my Christ rose for me, and my Christ will always be there for me. Will yours?

HAPPY EASTER!

What Does Demonic Oppression Do To a Person?

By Reverend Mark Hunnemann

The answer I was given a number of years ago was this: demons oppress people by breaking them down physically, emotionally, and spiritually; often to the point where they are at their wits end…. or even end their own lives. The manner in which the demonic do this is limited only by their extensive, depraved imagination….and they are relentless. It is obvious that they get a perverse pleasure from causing a person or relationship to unravel. It is not uncommon for an oppressed person’s home to be a pig-sty….an outward symbol of inner, psychic dislocation; and they are laughing at both. I think of Jim Morrison, the poet of psychic dislocation, in People are Strange: “…women seem wicked when you are unwanted, roads seem uneven when you are down…” People’s perceptions become strange when oppressed.  (and under the effects of acid!)

In 1979 I enrolled in a three year Masters of Divinity degree, and afterwards was ordained in 1985. Once I put the books aside and got involved in actual pastoral ministry, I learned the following truths in a visceral way: ministry is messy, and hurting people hurt people. Both are intensely biblical. Though all Christians could benefit from being reminded of these facts of life, I wish to apply them specifically to those who have been called to help those suffering from demonic oppression. My daughter texted me tonight Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me all who are weary and heavy laden…” Bone weary from sleep deprivation, and heavy laden with the effects of chronic and acute diabolical torture, we approach our clients at the nadir of their lives. It is so humbling to hear, “This is the lowest I have ever been. Had you not come when you did, I am not sure what I would have done because I can’t take it anymore. Thank you for coming to help me. Everybody else had given up on me….” To hear those words is humbling and precious, isn’t it?

Oftentimes family and friends give up on them because they don’t understand. To make matters worse, the average person I have assisted has been turned away by several pastors. And to top it off, many have been neglected, mis-diagnosed, or judged harshly by Christian demonologists. Friends, what are we doing? Physically, emotionally, and spiritually these folks are wrecks, which means they just might not be doing very well spiritually; their patience may be very thin which means they are short-tempered and angry; and they just might not live up to our standards of responsibility when they are struggling to stay alive. C’mon, how do we feel when we miss just one nights full rest? Try being a young mom who hasn’t had a decent night sleep in months because of being tormented by demonic shadows every night or possibly even being raped by these supernatural putrid perverts. Jesus showed his most tender and gentle side to those who had been beaten down by demonic oppression/possession…or those with had symptoms similar to it.

“Don’t mess with that case because he is nothing but an attention seeking king, and he gets angry at everyone who has tried to help him in the past. It is all in his head… He has gotten so good at faking it, he even has his wife and kids in on it.”  That is a composite of warnings I have received from folks over the years. I ALWAYS listen carefully, but occasionally I want to find out for myself…especially IF they are seeking my help—in EVERY case I’m glad I did (because it turned out they were wrong). You know the drill…certain people get a reputation, and soon nobody wants to help them. If you have uttered similar words, perhaps you need to remember what we have been talking about—the deleterious effects of demonic oppression. DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT WRITING SOMEONE OFF, UNLESS YOU SPEND THE HOURS NEEDED TO SIFT THROUGH THE WRECKAGE—AND COMMUNICATE THAT YOU REALLY CARE FOR THEM AND ARE NOT JUST AFTER DATA ACQUISITION.

Just a basic knowledge of psychology is helpful here. The nexus of attitudes and behaviors of the demonic oppressed is complex and unique to each individual. We really need to cry out to the Holy Spirit for wisdom before we dismiss someone. My point is this: the very things that we see as red flags in our criteria for determining those who are faking demonic oppression (attention seeking, anger, irresponsibility, inconsistency in memory, seeming exaggeration, and so on), these are often part of the complex of symptoms  that demonic oppression causes! Again, the very signs we look for in spotting the fake cases, are often the signs of a case being genuine! To put it simply, hurting people hurt people (we will get hurt), and I trust we all would agree that demonic oppressed folks are hurting. But often when folks display hurtful behavior we see that as a red flag, when it is the very thing we should expect from those experiencing diabolical torture. I am reading John Mc Cain, his autobiography, and he speaks of the savagery of his captors while a POW. The NVA and VC seem to know demonic tactics well. As I get older it is being impressed upon me of how madness surrounds demonic activity...sheer madness.

Why do we believe that demonic oppression breaks people down so comprehensively (especially spiritually), but then turn around and question: is their faith in Christ real or strong enough to do this cleansing successfully, when Jesus NEVER asked that question before he exorcised anyone? What of the power of faith the size of a mustard seed? Spiritually is where folks are hammered the worst. One can’t say everything in a blog, but certainly Jesus is the only means by which we can liberate folks. However, am I being a Pharisee by expecting people to clean up their lives before I deem them “cleansable”? It is similar to cleaning up ones act before becoming savable….which is a false gospel.

To be forewarned is to forearmed—expect folks to be tough to deal with at times. Sure we need to be discerning, and establish ground rules, but hurting people hurt people, and ministry is messy….especially this ministry. In the pastoral ministry I saw all kinds of evil and the effects of evil, but it did not compare with the relentless and savagery of the evil found in helping folks with demonic oppression. I bow before the Lord in worship for calling us to be co-workers with Him in liberating the captives. Please, let us be extremely careful that we not dismiss one of God’s wandering and savaged sheep.

Bad Bad Thing Award Goes to Bogus War Heroes

By Kirby Robinson

Bogus War Heroes

It’s a bad bad thing for anyone who tries to pass themselves off as a solider… and it’s a good good thing for anyone who dedicates their time money to expose them.

We’ve exposed more than a few fake para-celebrities, false teachers, cult leaders, fraudulent members of the cloth, along with a few child molesters and their protectors.

But one other group that gets our blood pressure rising is those guys and gals who pass themselves off as war heroes. They try to reap the benefits and praise by wearing uniforms [often mismatched] and flaunting medals, pretending to have put their lives on the line.

Here is a great article about two groups: Guardian Valor and Fake Warriors Project, run by veterans who expose the fakes.

Do you know of a para-celeb, psychic, ghost hunter, demon chaser or false teacher who’s eligible for the award? You can take part by sending us a name and why you think they should receive the BAD BAD THING award. Contact freeallspirits@live.com for more information.
