Witchcraft And The Occult On The Rise

Before I start, I would like to say that this is not targeting anybody of any religion whether I agree with it or not. Everybody has the right to believe in what they want to believe in. I respect that. As I’ve said many times I go at it with a biblical point of view. But I do not tear down what others believe in. I’m not perfect, no one is. And on the other side of that I will never deny or be ashamed of giving my heart and soul over to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. That doesn’t require being perfect. You’re allowed to still love Jesus whether you’re perfect or not. But no one is perfect. However, no matter what they do, if they repent God forgives. You can’t tell somebody they still can’t love the Lord Jesus Christ because of mistakes they made. That’s completely ridiculous. If they are in a leadership type of position that’s a different story.

I know that there are Wiccans that mean well. They want peace and joy and are genuinely kind people that have their personal beliefs. I spoke to one for about 25 minutes before I wrote this blog. They want peace. Just like any type of group or society or religion you’re going to have your radicals. Just like in politics. That’s a good example to use. You know someone going dark. Taking it too far. There are ‘Christian witches’ (oxymoron) now.  I received a couple of emails asking me if that was in the Bible, and it’s not. Christians that were also witches but for doing good. That will be a whole other blog that I intend to explain into further details about that. I’m seeing more and more of that as well.

I’m nondenominational. I believe in what the King James Bible says. So I guess you would call that Christian. I’m not a member of any church. In my humble opinion the churches just preach and preach about things that really make them look bad. A lot of them hardly read out of the Bible. They promise crazy things if you send them money and what happens is that leaves a bad taste in people‘s mouth, as it should. But it ruins it for the people who are honest and their church uses those resources to help feed the hungry or when there’s disasters like hurricanes and things of that nature. But there are still good churches around, don’t get me wrong, but it’s mainly turning into this new age from what I have been told.

Here’s a little information on a Christian Minister who took his beliefs way too far. Jim Jones was a man who was responsible for, I think, about 912 people who drank poisoned Kool-Aid. It was a mass suicide in the name of God. He wasn’t stable mentally. He took his beliefs way too far and wanted to be like God. He wanted to be worshiped and revered. Doesn’t that sound familiar? That’s exactly what Lucifer did in heaven. That 1979 event was the origin where that phrase was coined. ‘don’t drink the Kool-Aid’. I think. I will actually be blogging about that in more detail very soon. I just wanted to use Christianity as an example. I have no illusions, denominations just divide people. And I know some people in the church are very corrupt. Some of these churches are not safe anymore. They are cherry picking out of the Bible to their convenience. Or even worse, rewording it. They need to be preaching the word of God and explaining the end times. They need to dig into the Bible and try to save as many souls as possible. Yes, people should tithe, I believe you should give what you can. That helps them feed the hungry and help out in disasters, that’s the reason why. To do God's work.

There are so many accounts of evil spirits in scripture to really affirm the reality of powerful spiritual forces of evil and wickedness. Evil spirits (also known as demons or devils), are depraved and quite familiar with our human weaknesses and desires. They know them very well. Some are more vile than others. It is said that evil spirits speak to all of us to inject ungodly beliefs into us. These are thoughts that steer us away from our relationship in and with Jesus Christ.

YouTube is full of HUGE resources on how to summon demons, cast dark spells, blood atonement, etc. Some of you may not understand what blood atonement means. That is another topic that I will go into and explain. If I try to explain it now it would get too far away with our original subject. But it really blew my mind -- with just a few words I typed into the search engine generated all of this stuff and everything related to it. There are satanic temples being built. The  first one is in Boston. With a very large baphomet statue in the front. It will also show people doing stuff on camera going into places or playing with ouija boards and that is just opening the door to possible negative activity.

There is a gentleman who has a YouTube channel with a large following, I won't mention his name as I do not want to advertise for him, but he is showing step-by-step instructions on how to do all kinds of rituals. A lot of them have to do with summoning Satan and all kinds of demons. This individual has many viewers backing up his beliefs. They have the right, and he has the right to believe in that. I am just pointing out how easy it is to gain access to dangerous information. This person even showed how to do a revenge ritual and he even warns ‘be careful that you are mentally capable to handle any bad consequences you send that person's way, including death.’ This man has such a huge following and support. He claims to work with a lot of demons. He does demonstrations in the desert, in the woods... in different places. And thousands watch. And how many try to emulate it? God only knows.

This is scary. And it’s not getting any better, it’s getting worse. There are so many things out there to target the youth or anyone who is interested. They’re already trying to push pedophilia on people. They’re trying to groom us, by normalizing pedophilia. They want us to think ‘God pedophiles have been around for years’ (pedosexual is another term they prefer). They may not see it as a present danger. And all this blood atonement is quite real. As I said in any religion or belief things can go too far and go radical. There’s always somebody that will take it too far. You can count on it.

I feel like I need a shower after my researches. For real! There’s only so much I can research in a day without it really taking an emotional toll. That’s why I do it in increments. And when I’m done, I don’t think about that subject and I go on about things till it’s time for me to research and write a blog. I can’t dwell on it. If I did I’d go crazy. People need to be aware of it. Which is why I've written this blog and am writing many more--to help spread light and truth in these dark times.

Introduction to Systematic Theology: Why Knowing God & Solid Biblical Content is Especially Important in a Pagan Culture

Theology is applying the whole of the bible to the whole of life. For example, when we study God’s omnipotence, we will ask what does the entire bible say about it, and try to apply it.

My name is Mark Hunnemann and in 1973 I became a Christian, and it was quite a change. I immediately was introduced to JI Packer, John Stott, C.S. Lewis, Francis Schaeffer, RC Sproul and other wonderful writers who had profound influence upon me…their theology and love for the Lord. Kept me from slipping back into old lifestyle.

I went to seminary and was a pastor for many years and had the honor of preaching the whole counsel of God. I am sitting because this is not church, and I am teaching—not preaching.. I invite you to fact check everything I say. I’ve written a book entitled Seeing Ghosts Through God's Eyes and working on a second one. I have been deeply involved in helping folks who are struggling with demonic oppression—passion of mine.

 We live a pagan culture in which mind-less experience is the key to spiritualty, but it leads to delusion and oppression. We and our children need as much biblical content as possible, and the most loving thing you can do as a parent and grandparent is to grow in your knowledge and love of God.
In a sense, every Christian is a theologian—for better or for worse—and the ‘for worse’  aspect is no small matter. The epistles and Jesus warn us that heresies are destructive attacks by wolves against God’s sheep; and wolves are not very kind to sheep. Therein lies my passion for this series. Gallop recently did a poll and it left me speechless—the amount of biblical theological ignorance amongst professing Christians is astonishingly high. Breaks my heart. And my passion is to take profound truth and make it understandable and catch on fire! So, I invite you on a journey of discovery together—to delve deeply into the meat of God’s Word. I believe there are many Christians hungering for solid meat and I want to do my humble part to help in that regard.

The bible says that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. The ideas that don’t just flit around our brains momentarily, but the ones that penetrate the heart, are the ideas that shape our lives. And ideas have legs. We are what we think. Sound theology is required for a godly life because we have to first know the truth before we can do the truth. So, no Christian can avoid theology. Some may strenuously deny it, but every Christian has a theology.  The issue is do we have a sound theology? Do we embrace true or false doctrine? You may be surprised to hear this but every wrong belief I embrace is sin due to not loving God with all of my mind.

Before giving a more concrete basis for studying theology let me address several common misconceptions or concerns—with brief replies.

1. First, does not Jesus teaching about embracing the Kingdom with child-like faith (Mark 10:15) imply a simple faith? Yes, but there is world of difference between child-like faith and child-ish faith. The latter is obstinate and refuses to bow before authority and settles for a diet of spiritual milk. The implicit trust of a child is something we never grow out of but we are to grow to into maturity—solid meat. 11 About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

2. Many Christians have developed an aversion to theology because of their distrust of theologians. I understand…and have experience first hand of the devastating effects of higher-critical methods of ‘scholarship’ which is just a mask for unbelief and often shoddy scholarship. Most seriously, they have vandalized God’s holy Word, and caused serious damage to people. Academia is filled with wolves who are unregenerate pagans who are intellectually arrogant. But please remember that we must not throw out the baby with the bath water; to reject theology is to commit spiritual suicide.

3. The false pietism of our day denigrates the mind. But the pattern in scripture is deep doctrine and then application. EG But we are told in Romans 12:1-2 to be transformed through the renewing of our minds. some emphasize a direct experience with the Holy Spirit, which bypasses the mind,

4. Theology breeds arguments and controversy. Yes, it does because truth implies error, and error must be confronted or we accommodate it by our silence. What kind of world do you want our grandkids to live in? Jesus’s life was a storm cloud of controversy, as was Paul's because truth matters. It is godless controversy we are to avoid, not godly controversy, which is needed. To avoid controversy is to avoid Christ. We are not to argue about non-important issues, and the THE mark of a Christian is love.

5. We have unconsciously been influenced by the relativization and subjectivism of the truth. The concept of truth has changed and this has belittled the importance of the content of truth and the intellect. One of the glories of our faith is that it is a system of coherent, rational truth. It is much more than a system of truth, but not less. We should rejoice in this in light of the content-less spirituality of pagan, New Age. One hand clapping may sound profound but it means nothing rational.  I recently did a video on the  “Cosmic Christ” and I chose this title carefully because I wanted to catch the attention of New Agers and I wanted to accent the cosmic dimension of the atonement-Christus victor. But it was mainly to show the CONTENT of the true Christ vs the myth of the pagan conception of Christ. I next want to do one entitled the Cosmic Christ and His alien, extra-terrestrial righteousness! Hehe  Actually, I am not kidding because the term ‘alien righteousness’ is a theological term for the righteousness of Christ which is extra-terrestrial—outside the earth, and reserved in heaven. See if I can work ET in the title too! His righteousness is imputed to us in justification.

Suppose someone says: why theology? All I need is to love to Jesus. First, which Jesus? (New Age, Jehovas Witness, etc.) Who is He and what did He do? What happened on the cross?  Second, ‘love’ can be defined and expressed in a thousand different ways. And Jesus Himself said: “teaching them ALL that I commanded you.”

Positive role of theology: just as we get to know a person better as we know more about them, so our knowledge of and love for God should grow as we study about His Person and work---in creation and redemption. For our soul to be inflamed with a passion for God then it first has to pass through our minds.  (CS Lewis quote)

I am at a point in life at age 62 where I wish to record the truths of God’s Word. Knowledge without devotion is cold, dead orthodoxy. But devotion without knowledge is irrational instability; one is left vulnerable to being undiscerning to the wiles of the devil…and I see people falling left and right. How can people believe in earthbound spirits? Recently a friend went back to being a witch. 11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherdsc and teachers,d 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,e to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
Avoid syncretism which is blending of non-Christian thought with bible. Solid theology helps avoid that..become discerning. Like eg of bank teller and counterfeit.

Growing in the knowledge of God is a great joy and honor. It is a delight to the soul. Takes effort and discipline, but this is a matter of life and death—even eternal life and death. And this series is designed, by God’s grace, to enable us to love Him more and be more effective in your witness to a lost and broken world. Dig in!

In 1974 I graduated from High School and many changes have taken place in our culture since then. And I can assure you that “residual energy” was an unknown subject. How did we get to the place where residual energy has become so common a notion?

How did we get to the place where the notion of residual energy is so commonplace? Why has energy taken on such a distinctive role, not just in hauntings but in healing, and our understanding of reality? I think of Reiki as just one example amongst many. While what follows does not explicitly address the notion of residual energy/haunts, it does attempt to explain the transition from energy to Energy, as the Ultimate reality. We have moved from a God-centered worldview to an Energy-centric/occult worldview, and this has given rise to such notions as residual energy.

Dr Peter Jones, author of The Other Worldview, has shown how the New Age/Pagan Worldview has displaced the biblical worldview as the dominant worldview. In the mid- 60s it came into USA, and it’s no coincidence that the ascendancy of the Energy centric worldview coincides with the popularity of residual energy.

"Sending prayers and positive energy"...gosh, how many times have I heard, or read on Facebook, a comment similar to that? How many times have you? The sending of positive energy has equaled, and in many cases, eclipsed the pledge of praying to the Living God from a friend to someone experiencing a trauma. Clearly, energy has undergone a radical evolution recently; it has taken on such a profound and practical significance for countless numbers of people. Nothing reveals more about a person's real, basic spiritual convictions than how they pray. For many, energy has become THE central organizing principle in their worldviews. I remember in seminary, a professor said that how a person prayed spoke volumes about what their true theological beliefs were. Hence, when the prayer of professing Christians includes pledges of sending positive energy, then we know this energy belief has deeply infiltrated the Christian community. Just 15 years ago...did you hear or say that positive energy was being sent on behalf of a beloved? I seriously doubt it. Therefore, it is incumbent for Christians that we understand this issue and sift it through a biblical worldview grid...pulling down strongholds and arguments... that are raised against the knowledge of God (2 Cor.10:5). Otherwise, like the ancient Israelites, we shall fall into an unthinking syncretism; the blending of the truth with falsehood—and incur God’s discipline.

Ultimate Reality, according to God’s Word, is the tri-personal, Living God; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in loving, joyous communication for backwards eternity to eternity future. Nothing/ No-one is “further back” or more basic. He existed eternally before He created energy and the universe. However, today, many people seem to assume that Energy/Universe is Ultimate reality, but that is an occultic, demonic deception. But it does explain why the notion of residual energy has taken hold so quickly in our culture which has largely jettisoned the biblical God from its thinking. We have rejected the Living God and exchanged it for the lie, worshipping nature—and energy in particular. (Romans 1:25) An idol doesn’t have to be a figurine (it can be mental instead of metal) because, by definition, and idol is whatever is uppermost in our affections or considered to be the ground of our being.

Those who research and investigate the supernatural realm-from quantum jumping to spirit hunting-are increasingly seeing ultimate reality in terms of energy.

Energy vibrations of the cosmos or cosmic consciousness. Energy has become not only personified but deified as well. This impersonal stuff that we call energy has now become our new god...our new reference point for defining the cosmos, mankind, and our relationship to the cosmos.

In the beginning God created (bara-act of personal creating) has been replaced by...  In the beginning, Energy has always been there and is evolving....It has become commonplace to believe that we are currently experiencing a quantum leap into a higher form of consciousness or energy, and it is often stated that we are spirit energy in a body, and NOT vice versa. Raise your vibration levels and you’ll experience wholeness with the Universe. Instead of personal holiness before a holy God, we now seek personal wholeness by enhancing our energy vibrations. This pagan worldview has altered our view of God, reality, sanctification and countless other vital aspects of our worldview.

As I alluded to, this is no mere dry as dust academic theory, because it has become a paradigm or worldview shift in how one understands who they are, and how to become better at living and being human. Watch the plethora of energy healers attempting to adjust folk's vibrational levels to harmonize with the vibrations of primal Energy and the Universe. And what must be noted with tears, is that often these energy therapies seem to work in terms of affecting vibrational change and healing. May I suggest, though, that we are playing god in this respect, and are opening ourselves to deep demonic intervention. They (demons) are clever, and all it takes is openness to this Energy to potentially begin the oppression process. Usually, at some opportune time, the demonic will find some imaginative way to gain permission for entry. We should have known better than to reject God and begin to call energy ultimate reality/god--Energy. Romans 1:18f speaks of the endarkenment, instead of the desired enlightenment, which comes when we deify, make ultimate, or worship, any aspect of the Creator's creation-including one of His greatest creations, which is energy. We have rejected the Living God and exchanged it for the lie. (Romans 1:25) The essence of paganism is the denial of the Creator/creature distinction, and that incenses God. He hates it and we should hate what He hates—the idea, not the people who embrace it.

It is not being intellectually consistent or honest to spell energy as Energy, because the bottom line is that this notion (energy is ultimate reality) implies that there was an impersonal beginning, and by adding upper-case you have magically imported personality-creating it out of thin air. The only reason why we sense or detect personality with the energy entities is because they ARE personal beings-demons. Like humans, demons and Satan have a will, intelligence, and emotions. We have not dealt with ghosts per se, in this book, but the concept of ultimate reality as energy often accompanies the belief in ghosts. It is this occult worldview change which gave rise to its enormous popularity.

There is a flow to human history and we have seen how our culture has arrived at this juncture where energy plays such a vital role in defining reality. Be wary of any talk of tapping into primal Energy or cosmic consciousness. In our weakness, let us cling to the God who was manifested through the burning bush-the infinite-personal God of the bible who has inexhaustible, omnipotent energy and power. Yahweh.

10 Reasons Why Infinite Alternative Realities Are Not Possible

Recently I was communicating with Laura Maxwell regarding a discussion she had with a man who stated that he was ex-New Ager, but he believed in alternate realities or universes. Numerous insights shared here came from Laura, The idea is that there are allegedly infinite incarnations of each of us in every conceivable situation, in infinite universes. Infinite means infinite, not just a whole lot. What are the ramifications of this belief, and are they compatible with Christianity? Does the bible have any insights on cosmology, and how many universes there are?

First, let’s lay the foundation. The bible/Proverbs says that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of both wisdom and knowledge. Though these two are closely tied together in Proverbs, “knowledge” tends to focus on correct understanding of the world and our place as creatures, while “wisdom” is the acquired skill of applying that knowledge in a way that pleases God. May God enable us to please Him in our pursuit of accurate understanding of the totality of His creation and our place in it.
Again, the idea is that there are infinite realities and some see these universes as bubbles, and each one may have different scientific rules and moral codes.

This notion is common in occult/New Age circles, and is used to express New Age concepts, such as quantum jumping. However, mainstream theoretical physicists and cosmologists are championing this idea on print and on TV frequently. Our concern is that this notion is becoming quite common amongst professing Christians as well. Just as some drugs may act as gate-ways to more serious drugs, so some beliefs are gate-way beliefs which often to lead to a slippery slope down into the darkness of occultic beliefs and practices. And that is my concern about Christians embracing this concept of multiverse.

I need to affirm that of all people, Christians should let their imaginations soar to the stars because we have a solid foundation to distinguish between reality and fantasy. So, anything I say here should not be construed as a squashing of a PROPER use of our imaginations. Positing infinite universes as fact (and not in fiction) is not a proper use of reason, the Word, or imagination.

A new word appeared in cosmology literature—multiverse…instead of universe. Here are my reasons for challenging it:

1. Multivese or infinite universes is a contradiction in terms because the universe is supposed to include everything.

Definition of ‘universe’—all existing matter and space considered as a whole; the cosmos. By definition, the universe contains everything there is. Hence, the notion of infinite universes is infinitely absurd and internally self-contradictory.

You cannot have multiple/infinite everythings. Most physicists and cosmologist are not Christians and have non-biblical presuppositions which guide how they interpret the data/phenomena—and it’s NOT the fear of God. You can look at the same evidence and different presuppositions will lead to radically different conclusions (e.g. cosmic background radiation). Arguments for infinite realities/universes are often circular in nature…assuming the very thing to be proved.

Some scientists appeal to the Anthropic principle, and state that we ‘create’ universes by existing to observe it. However, creating reality through our minds is classic occult belief. We cannot create anything from nothing, much less a universe, which is something only God can do.

We believe in the basic reliability of the sense perceptions because, the same God who made the external world also made our 5 senses to accurately perceive God’s world. There is a correspondence between what we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell and the external world, because God created both. Immanuel Kant dropped a bombshell on modern man with his distinction between noumena (thing in itself) and the phenomena (what we observe), and never the twain shall meet. But the Christian has no such problem!

2. Occam's razor (principle of preferring simpler explanation)would clearly prefer the simplicity of a single universe, which easily and comprehensively explains the phenomena. The notion of infinite universes raises more questions than it answers, and unbelief was the assumption that gave rise to it. It adds infinite complexity and confusion, which is contra Occam’s razor principle.

3. The teaching is that there are infinite variations of all of us. If there are infinite Mark’s, then which one will be judged?  The absurdity of it would be humorous if it weren’t so tragic. Hebrews 9:27 states that each person will die once (not infinite times), and will immediately face judgment. Infinite variations of me/you is inconsistent with personal judgment. I have to keep my points brief. J
If everyone has infinite identities, then so should Jesus and Hitler. That is blasphemous and utterly heretical. And there would be universes in which He didn’t die for our sins…again, unthinkable. In fact, there should be a universe in which you/me were Jesus. Or Lucifer is good. It is utterly arbitrary to affirm infinite identities, except balk when it comes to being God’s Messiah. That is special pleading, an informal  logical fallacy. That just shows that folks can’t live with the logical extension of this absurd notion.

4. The word ‘universe’ is a combination of two Latin words-uni  (one), versus (turned)…or combined into one, whole. The idea is that of unity amidst vast diversity of the cosmos. This is a faint but lovely picture of the unity amidst the diversity of the Trinity. For millennia, philosophers dealt with the ‘one and many’ problem in an attempt to explain reality. (Unfortunately, modern philosophy, for the most part, has given up on such discussions) How can we explain how the unity and diversity that we observe on the macro and micro levels, or the one and many, came to be? Look around and see/feel the unity amidst the diversity in nature! Whether you are looking through a microscope at the complexity of a cell, or a picture from the Hubble Telescope, this phenomenon is staggering! A recent trip to the NC Zoo accented the diversity of animals, and yet they are all animals.Which is more ultimate: unity or diversity?

The pre-Socratic  philosophers were consumed with trying to explain the nature of reality, and especially how there can be such unity in nature with all its mind-boggling diversity? Ancient philosophers like Heraclitus and Parmenides  came to opposite conclusions. One stated that unity was ultimate and the other that diversity/change was ultimate. There were even the ‘atomists’ who posited atom like particles that explained the unity and diversity! So, which is ultimate?
The biblical answer is that both are equally ultimate, as reflected in the oneness of God, but existing in three Persons. What a fantastic answer we have for modern man who is lost in the darkness of their autonomous reason…and has no basis for true and accurate knowledge of God’s world. “He who trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.” (Proverbs 28:26)
My point is that the notion of a uni-verse was born out of a Christian worldview in which scientists understood that Jesus is the Logos that coheres all reality together (Colossians 1:16-17; John 1:1-3)), and that the vast diversity of the cosmos reflects the unity amidst the diversity in the Trinity. In other words, the universe was seen as a thing of wonder and mystery which reflected the very character of God Himself. (Romans 1:18ff)

ALL that God created is contained in this one universe in which there is a mind-boggling unity amidst the staggering diversity of God’s universe. The scientific laws we have discovered are really God’s laws which He implanted into the very fabric of reality or the universe. They display the unity and diversity principle as well, whether it is astronomy to zoology. When I walked outside today, taking in the loveliness around me, I saw a jet 30,000 feet up. How wonderful it is that God has created a world in which, through the cultural mandate in Genesis, we can discover His laws in the warp and woof of the universe, and make such fantastic inventions!

However, the notion of a multiverse brings in its wake chaos-which is demonic. The unity/diversity model is lost and chaos reigns, with infinite bubble universes bumping into each other, and there is no cohering principle. The multiverse model is a sign of how far how our culture has drifted from the Triune God into foolish flights of cosmological fancy, which leads to a horror of great darkness because there is no meaning  or coherence in this model of infinite universes.

5. Which leads me to my next point. Those who espouse the notion of multiverse have to assert, if they are consistent, that each alleged universe (here the inner self-destructive nature of its language appears)has its own scientific rules and moral codes. Each universe has its own understanding of truth regarding all aspects of life. Focusing on the latter, we see that this notion is at odds with the biblical insistence that Truth is objective and absolute because God’s law is based on His unchanging character. As Laura pointed out, the notion of multiple truths is absurd and is contrary to God’s Word regarding truth being unchanged and unchanging. Infinite truths leads to a horror of great darkness, in which wrong is right, and vice versa.John 17:17 says that God’s Word is not only True, but it is Truth itself (Greek, alathea, noun),and is thus the standard of truth against which everything else must be tested or compared)So, the notion of multiverse has serious problems from which there is no escape.

6. The notion of infinite universes is impossible because only God is infinite—even the universe, though enormous, is not infinite. If there were infinite universes then they would be God because they are infinite, which is an aspect of divinity. Infinite is not a whole lot—not 10 to billionth power comes even close to a speck compared to infinity. Infinity means there is no end….endless numbers of universes. If this does not concern you, then it should because it is an attempt to become like God, through the guise of science. The infinity of God is what theologians refer to as an imcommunicable (non-transferable) attribute of God. Just as God’s omnipotence and omniscience are divine attributes, so is infinity.Our God is too small!!

7. Are we to believe that Satan is a good being, possibly the Messiah, in one of these other infinite universes? God forbid! But it shows the ugliness and absurdity of this view.

8. Anyone familiar with the Judeo-Christian worldview, will instantly realize that the notion of infinite universes is hostile or contrary to their/our worldview. This is especially true when it comes to the biblical teaching regarding the nature of reality. The growth of the occult worldview has opened the door to this heretofore unthinkable model of reality.

9. Let us now look at the biblical data:

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) Bereshith bara Elohim shamayim we ha eres (Hebrew)
3  By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.(Hebrews 11:3)
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things (panta, Greek) were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. (John 1:1-3)
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things, (ektisas ta panta, Greek)
and by your will they existed and were created. (Revelation 4:11)
16 For by him all things were created (ekthisthe ta panta, Greek), in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together…. 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.(Colossians 1:16-20)

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.(Romans 8:18-23….bolds added to several texts)

I quoted these texts because they answer most the questions pertinent to this discussion.

Notice that in most texts it is explicitly stated that ALL THINGS (not just one of infinite others) that were created through Jesus, and it’s a clear reference to the universe created in Genesis 1:1.All things means all things-what we call the universe.

Genesis 1:1.is a fundamental presupposition that runs through the entire bible. In this verse we see the creation of matter, and the space-time continuum. This is not a summary verse; it is God’s first act in which the one universe was spoken into existence—the very fabric of space and time. Heaven and earth is an expression meaning ‘everything’ ;seen or unseen. This interpretation is supported by the New Testament (see Hebrews 11:3 and Revelation 4:11) It is the biblical teaching of God creating the entire created world/universe ex nihilo (out of nothing). Contrary to other pagan beliefs, Moses and NT authors tell us that God did not create from pre-existing matter. By His sovereign, all mighty power, God spoke the entire creation into existence. Hebrews 11:3 emphasizes the ‘out of nothing’ aspect of creation.

Genesis 1:1 tells us from the outset that God created the heavens and the earth, which means EVERYTHING. It is an amazing comment about God creating everything he created, and there is no mention of alternate universes. The same is true of the other verses. Note especially John 1:3 where it says that ALL things were created through Him, And to make sure we heard him correctly John adds, that nothing was created that Jesus did not create…NOTHING. John could not have been clearer. It is as if He said—“there is nothing that exists anywhere that I did not create. My creation of the universe includes all that I created.” Does that not exclude alternate universes?  Everything that was created, was created by Jesus, and is identical with our universe, both visible and invisible. Only by eisogesis (reading into text ones views) can one extract the notion of multiverse from these anti-multiverse verses.

In Colossians, Jesus not only created everything but He sustains it as well. In John 1:1-3, the Logos/Logic (Jesus, and Greek word can be translated either Word or Logic) created and holds the fabric of creation together. Jesus is the Logic of the universe.

The New heavens and earth in Revelation in 21 and 22 indicate that the space time continuum will be sustained through eternity because heaven will be here on earth and we will have glorified but material bodies, which occupy space and live in time. (2 Corinthians 5; 1 Cor. 15) Eternal life in heaven does not necessarily entail the end of space and time. Why should it? You don’t have to worry about CERN or anyone else changing the basic fabric of God’s creation which He upholds with His omnipotent right arm, and will extend through eternity. Whatever Cern is doing, they can’t mess with God’s basic creational pattern which is eternal in nature. I was going to mention the Mandela Effect but think that is an issue for another day. The alleged bending of time/space is a distinct issue from alternate realties.

In Genesis 3 and Romans 8 (see above) the Fall of Adam effected the entire creation—ALL that God had created. In Romans 8 it states that the universe/all creation ‘groans’ due to the Fall, and longs for Jesus’ return so that it, too, will be liberated from the consequences of Adam’s sin. In v.22 it states explicitly that ‘all creation groans’ due to Adam’s sin. How can this jive with infinite universes because that would mean that ALL CREATION does not mean what it says. In fact, it would seem to mean the opposite, since infinite other universes were allegedly not touched by Adam’s Fall. But the Word of God is explicit that all creation was touched by both the Fall, as well as the cosmic ramifications of the blessed Atonement.

The Fall caused:
1. Man separated from God;
2. Man separated from other men (beginning of violence between humans);
3. Man’s separation from himself (origin of psychological problems);
4. Man's separation from nature (hostility and fear between man and animals),
5. Separation of nature from nature (nature became ‘red in tooth and claw’)

Jesus’ death had cosmic ramifications for the entire creation. (see Col. and Romans) Ephesians 1:14 says, “..A plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Him, things in heaven and on earth.” Nowhere do we see alternate realities that were not affected by the historical Fall, nor by the scope of Christ’s atonement. The central theme of the drama of redemption is that the work of Christ on the cross is the central axis for the history of God’s entire creation, whether in heaven or on Earth…and He silenced all demonic powers. All of human and comic history revolves around the cross. That is, ALL of God’s creation was affected by the Fall, and has now been (or will be at Christ’s return) experience full liberation. The cosmic nature of Christ’s death is often overlooked. He not only defeated sin, Satan/demons, death, but He secured the redemption of the entire universe.

Instead, this is powerful refutation of infinite universes because we see that Adams Fall affected everything—except heaven. The universe, as we know it, was affected to its outer reaches. You cannot fit infinite universes into this drama of Fall and redemption.

So serious was this sin problem that God gave His all—He couldn’t have given more—and are we to believe that there are infinite me/you that do NOT need salvation? That is both repugnant to the Word and reason. The bible says that Jesus died ONCE for ALL. Any view that diminishes the perfection of the Person and Work of Christ, is a HUGE red flag, and is The Litmus Test for whether a belief is biblical or not.

As Laura reminded me, Hebrews states that Jesus died “once for ALL.” If the other alleged infinite universes are inhabited by intelligent beings, as is stated to be the case, then they either didn’t fall, or if they did, then Jesus would have had to have taken on infinite incarnations (each to be appropriate for the fallen inhabitants…Hebrews 2) and die infinitely. This is monstrous and contrary to Jesus dying “once for all.” Surely the folly of man’s autonomous knowledge of the world is nowhere more evident than here. If God The Father ever has to choose between the singular honor and dignity of His only Son, and our unrestrained imagination, then He will always choose His Son.

10. Contrary to many people’s opinions, the earth IS the center of the universe—not spatially, but in terms of it being the singular focus of God’s affection and love, from all eternity; past present and future (See Ephesians 1). All the mysteries and beauty of the entire cosmos were created for God’s glory and for our pleasure. From Genesis 1 to Revelation 22,, the earth was to be the temple of God, as well as His footstool.

 In Genesis 2, after finishing creating of ALL things, God rested and saw the earth as His temple, which is where it will be for all eternity after Second Coming (Revelation 21-22) Again, how can one fit this in with the concept of infinite universes? God will reign here….Immanuel—God with us!

When Satan fell, where was he sent? Earth, and not one of infinite possible dimensions. We see in Job and elsewhere, that Earth is the locus of God’s enemy, and not some alternate universe. This is implicit evidence of this being the only reality or universe. The location of the battle royale of the ages is our planet—not some far off galaxy or alternate universe.

So, unless we want to think that, when God said that He created ALL things, that God meant only our “little bubble” but not the infinite other bubbles, then we need to take God’s Word at face value.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Bereshith bara Elohim shamayim we ha eres. God said it. That settles it. I believe it. Thus, I will not preface my comments with: “In my opinion…”

It is this existing universe, mentioned in Genesis 1 and Revelation 21-22 in which the Triune God will reign on THIS Earth for all eternity, with all of His adopted sons and daughters, through Jesus Christ.  How can there be infinite other universes if God has said that the planet we live on will be His dwelling place forever and ever? Can’t we see that this notion could only have arisen in a culture riddled with an occult/Gnostic worldview?

Let us rejoice that, as Isaiah says: “…God created the Earth so that it might be inhabited…”, and that for all eternity we shall reign with God over His redeemed creation.

Will the Real Carl Jung Please Stand Up?

Last time we looked at the two competing worldviews of today, and throughout human history—Oneism (monism) and Twoism (biblical theism). How did Christianity (Twoism) begin to lose its influence? There are different ways of answering that question depending on how far back one wishes to go. I want to focus on recent developments.

There is a flow to human history, and cultures like ours don’t just emerge from nowhere, nor do they remain static. During the 20th century secular humanism was seen as the arch-enemy of biblical Christianity. However, recently even non-Christian scholars are saying (even celebrating) that we now live in a post-secular culture, as well as the rebirth of ancient paganism. Indeed there is a wedding of the ‘New” science with spirituality (Eastern). In order to understand the changing direction of our society we need to meet Swiss psychologist, Carl Gustov  Jung, the creator of transpersonal  psychology.  He and his followers have had, and continue to have, a huge influence in the reshaping of Western Civilization. Many see Jung as the father of the New Age movement, which may come as a shock to some of you, but it is why I am focusing on him.
Carl Gustav Jung (/jʊŋ/; German: [ˈkarl ˈɡʊstaf jʊŋ]; 26 July 1875 – 6 June 1961), often referred to as C. G. Jung, was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who foundedanalytical psychology. His work has been influential not only in psychiatry but also in philosophy, anthropology, archaeology, literature, and religious studies. He was a prolific writer, though many of his works were not published until after his death.

The central concept of analytical psychology is individuation—the psychological process of integrating the opposites, including the conscious with the unconscious, while still maintaining their relative autonomy. Jung considered individuation to be the central process of human development. [37]

Individuation is a process of transformation whereby the personal and collective unconscious is brought into consciousness (by means of dreams, active imagination or free associationto take some examples) to be assimilated into the whole personality.

Jung created some of the best known psychological concepts, including the archetype, the collective unconscious, the complex, and extraversion and introversion.(Wikpedia).

It was Jung who coined the terms “introvert’ and ‘extrovert’, and the Meyers-Briggs personality type indicator was developed from his theories. As we’ll see, Jung’s introduction to Indian religion profoundly affected him, and in turn, his views trickled down to have an all pervasive impact on pop culture, across the board. Jung was an associate of Freud, but early on, they had a parting of the ways. Freud had no use for spirituality, but Jung saw it as the key to psychological healing. But his spirituality was not Christianity. For example, the integrating of opposites (individuation) is occultic, as we shall see.

For many people their early years are truly formative, and Jung was no exception. Though his father was a Lutheran pastor, it seems it was liberal formalism, and it was a turn off to Jung. His paternal grandfather was Grand Master of the Swiss Order of Freemasons, and his maternal grandfather was an occultist and spiritualist. His maternal grandmother was a seer who communicated with the spirits of the dead (demons) and gave prophecies. Carl’s mother was a medium who spent long periods enraptured with the spirits that visited her at night. For many years Jung attended séances with his mother and two cousins. Demonic influence came early and heavy.

Will the real Carl Jung please stand up? As we shall see there was much more to Jung than scientific theories and personality types.  Richard Noll, a psychologist and history of science professor at Harvard, dropped a bombshell on the academic community. The Jung Cult: Origins of a Charismatic Movement and The Aryan Christ: the Secret Life of Carl Jung stated thus: “This 20th century mask (of scientific research) was constructed deliberately, and somewhat deceptively, by Jung to make his own magical, polytheist, pagan worldview more palatable to a secularized world conditioned to respect only those ideas that seem to have a scientific air to them.” Makes sense given his background.

Noll was vindicated with the publication of the Red Book fifty years after Jung’s death. In this volume Jung explains what he went through after his spit with Freud. During this time he experienced ‘psychotic fantasies’ and ‘numerous paranormal phenomena’. He became immersed in the world of the dead. In the Red Book, Jung gives details of what he called ‘numinous experiences’, which included his relationship with a spirit-guide named Philemon, whom he described as a pagan old man with the horns of a bull and the wings of a bird. As Jung began to have many paranormal experiences, Philemon introduced him to Abraxas, the devil-god of Gnosticism. Philemon referred to Jung as Christ. The demonic nature of Jung’s life and work is sadly indisputable. For a long time I thought Abraxas was simply the name of one of Carlos Santana’s albums!! lol

He further admits the significance of his paranormal experiences with the spirit world from 1914-1930 when he “..pursued…with the help of alchemy….the inner images…that threatened to break me.”

Everything he wrote after these experiences was , as he put it, the ‘outer classification’ of them. In other words, all of Jung’s complex theories and voluminous writings, were a series of ‘footnotes’ to his early and direct experiences with the spirit realm (the demonic).Near the end of his life Jung said, “We can no longer practice any psychology that ignores the existence of parapsychology (paranormal phenomena).” (pg 58, The Undiscovered Self).

Jung was involved with what has been called “depth psychology”. As Christians, we must realize that there is a deep depth to human nature. So, in this sense Jung was helpful.

As Dr Peter Jones says, “For Jung, the future of psychology lay in the development of paranormal spiritualism. This becomes evident in the Red Book…” (The Other Worldview, pg. 33) Transpersonal psychology was based on Jung’s own experience of the paranormal and on newly rediscovered pagan  traditions and symbolism/myths. His original doctoral dissertation was titled, “On the Psychology and Pathology of So-Called Occult Phenomena”.

Last time we noted that at the heart of the occult/Oneist worldview is the blurring or combining of creational distinctions. Oneist gives it away does it not? All is ONE….monism, dressed in western garb. Individuation, or the blurring of creational distinctions, was at the heart of Jung’s thought and he learned this concept from studying Eastern religions. We see that this modern mania to mock/erase God’s distinctions within His good creation, got its impetus from Jung. I saw the TV premier of Bruce Jenner’s outing, which was followed by a short-lived series. It saddens me to see how influential this man is becoming in further popularizing this notion of ‘individuation’.

The Collective Unconscious…. "there does seem to be a basic ambiguity in Jung's various descriptions of the Collective Unconscious. Sometimes he seems to regard the predisposition to experience certain images as understandable in terms of some genetic model" [75] – as with the collective arm. However, Jung was "also at pains to stress the numinous quality of these experiences, and there can be no doubt that he was attracted to the idea that the archetypes afford evidence of some communion with some divine or world mind' (accent added), and perhaps 'his popularity as a thinker derives precisely from this" The collective unconscious included the psychic memories of individuals of the past…leading way back. “ (Wikipedia)  The statement regarding his popularity due to this concept is an understatement!

It is difficult to exaggerate how significant this notion of accessing or communing with the collective unconscious --universe/divine/world mind has become in New Age circles today. The Star War series resonates with this notion of ‘the force’, as do many other movies , TV shows, games, ect  It has become deeply ensconced in our culture.

STOP…and REFLECT---the modern view of psychological health is based in large part on a pagan worldview on how the world and humans work!  The individuation he spoke of was clearly a Oneist worldview, which we spoke of last week. Jung was a prophet of a Oneist  worldview, where all is god, and god is all. All creational distinctions (good/bad, male/female, etc.) were joined together in his system, in order to achieve maximum psychic health.

What is the legacy of Jung? His ideas have infiltrated every aspect of culture. His psychological model described healthy human behavior as connection with one’s subconscious and with archetypes. Sexual and spiritual liberation were essential for the therapeutic health of the subconscious and being re-united with the divine. His psycho-spiritual model of healing had enormous influence, inside and outside the church. Many mainline denominations saw Jung as therapeutic ‘savior’ from the atheistic Freud. Pastoral care givers were affected and there was a flood of pastors becoming Jungian analysts.

Wealthy families like the Rockefellers, the McCormick’s, and the Mellon’s financially supported Jung’s vision, and were clients themselves. This helped to popularize Jung’s theories. Speaking of his theories, this is a blog, and not an academic paper, on Jung. I didn’t have time to elaborate on his all his major theories. However, all that is said in this blog comes from sources well documented (e.g. P. Jone’s book).

Jung provided a spiritual and therapeutic mechanism for the individual’s subconscious to be liberated from the ethical demands of holy living and the pain of guilt. Ethics were relativized and personal desire became the basis for psychological healing and human maturity. In a justification of an extra-marital affair with a young student, Jung wrote, “Nothing matters but the completion of the self.” Jung died in 1961 but his verbiage became the motto for the sexual revolution of the 1960’s—‘If it feels good, then do it.”

Jung’s therapy caught on, and today, the subconscious trumps every other authority or truth, including (and especially) the bible. Discovery of the inner self has become a national passion, leading to unprecedented narcissism. Being in tune with the Universe as well as consciousness raising has become ubiquitous in a thousand different New Age flavors….all tracing back to Jung….who was inspired by the ancient ‘perennial philosophy” or pagan/occult worldview.

Take a moment to think of several New Age theories or practices—everything from ascension to yoga-and one can hear the terms and categories Jung introduced into Western culture. I can think of no modern thinker who did more to derail our cultural train off its biblical tracks than Carl Jung. His influence is found virtually everywhere….even in the church.

Lest I be misunderstood, I affirm the value of much psychology/psychiatry. We need Christians in these fields to ‘bring every thought captive to Christ.”  Christians can bring a true/realistic view of human nature to the discussion, as well as a full-orbed approach to psychological healing based on the finished work of Christ on the cross, plus nothing. And we bring a knowledge of the Fall, which brought in its wake (among other disconnects) man’s separation from himself…beginning of psychological problems. The bible is not an exhaustive handbook on psychology, so there are many useful things we can learn from this field.

The New Age has matured and wears many, many different masks. However, if you look at the common motifs in each, one will see the categories and methodology of Carl Jung—and the Oneist worldview he championed. Much more could be said regarding perhaps the most influential thinker from the 20th century up till today. However, for anyone who wants to understand how we got to the horrible place we are currently at, and how to sensitively speak the unchanging truth with courage and effectiveness to our generation, then one needs to let the real Carl Jung to stand up….and be challenged.

Two Conflicting Worldviews—Oneism vs. Twoism

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)….biblical worldview

“In the beginning was the universe/energy/consciousness…”    “In the beginning the universe created the universe.” The OTHER worldview…….the pagan worldview.

 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.(Romans 1:20-23)

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. (Hebrews 11:1-3)

and by your will they existed and were created.” (Revelation 4:11)

Many people don’t realize that America has experienced a Second Revolution, beginning in the 1960’s. It was similar to the French Revolution it that its goal was to bring radical change to the forms, structures, values, and ethics of the status quo. It had to destroy before ushering in utopia. It is seeking to bring in a New Age with the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. However, the dawn of the New Age is now at its high noon. Though this revolution, in its inception, was relatively bloodless, its consequences have been brutally bloody. 60 million unborn children have died in this ‘enlightened’ age…and this is just the USA. And for the New Age worldview to succeed, Christianity has to be neutralized.

Neo-paganism has led to neo-barbarianism. We stand at the graveside of western civilization and we must weep and wake up! In order to speak the timeless truth of the gospel in a meaningful way in our changing culture, we need to understand what the underlying assumptions or worldview is of those around us.

 One of the reasons people seem to talk past each other when debating issues like: earthbound spirits, poltergeists, residual energy, abortion etc. Is that the underlying worldview is rarely addressed. Every person has a worldview which acts like spectacles through which they view all of reality. It affects how we think, how we act, and how we feel.If that is not discussed then we will unlikely persuade people on any deep level.

I want to begin a series which contrasts the two conflicting worldviews of today. Though it may appear reductionistic, this is a simple but accurate way of summarizing the only two worldviews that have existed since the dawn of time.(in my book I mention several worldviews, but they all can be boiled down to two, and just two).

Why is there something rather than nothing? And what is the nature of that something? Where did we come from? Colin Gunyon stated, “There are, probably, ultimately only two possible answers to the question of origins, and they recur at different places in all ages: (either) that the universe is the result of creation by a free personal agency, or that in some way or other it created itself. The two answers are not finally compatible, and require a choice, either between them or an attitude of agnostic refusal to decide.”

I want to gently ask—how can you live with yourself if you have not taken the time to understand why you are here? How can you expect to experience a meaningful life if you don’t care what the meaning of life is—its origin and its explanation?

For the sake of simplicity, Dr Peter Jones says that there are only two ultimate worldview explanations of origins—what he calls Oneism and Twoism. These are two mutually-contradictory ways to think about the world. Let me let Jones explain what these terms mean. I highly recommend this book by Dr Jones, a brilliant scholar who is an astute observer of what is happening in our culture. (see below)

Oneism—“sees the world as self-creating (or perpetually existing) and self-explanatory. Everything is made up of the same stuff, whether matter, spirit, or a mixture. There’s one kind of existence, which, in one way or another, we worship as divine (or of ultimate importance), even if that means worshipping ourselves. Though there is apparent differentiation and even hierarchy, all distinctions are, in principle, eliminated, and everything has the same worth. This is ‘homocosmology’, a worldview based on sameness. The classic term for this is ‘paganism’, worship of nature.” (pg. 12 The Other Worldview, Peter Jones)

In other words, there is ultimately only ONE reality…..creator and creation are compressed. Hence, Oneism. This false worldview takes on many different faces, but the bottom line is the same—ultimately, there is only one kind of ultimate reality.

Twoism—“The only other option is a world that is the free work of a personal, transcendent God, who creates ex nihilo (from nothing). In creating, God was not constrained by or dependent on any pre-existing conditions. There is nothing exactly like this in our human experience of creating; our creative acts are analogous to God’s. There is God, and there is everything that is not God—everything created and sustained by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This worldview celebrates otherness, distinctiveness. We only worship as divine the distinct, personal, triune Creator, who placed essential distinctions within creation. This is a ‘heterocosmology’, a worldview based on otherness and difference. This is often called ‘theism’. (pg.13) (Islam and Judaism are deficient attempts at Twoism, but ultimately are Oneist due to lack of Trinity)
 In other words, there are ultimately only two kinds of reality—The infinite/personal Creator, and His creation (visible and invisible)…..Twoism
 Phrases you may have heard that express Oneism
 I’m not religious, but spiritual (this has different meanings but I suggest that Christians not use this verbiage)
 Breaking or denying boundaries
 Breaking taboos
 Abolishing ‘either/or’ thinking
‘As above, so below’ (no distinction between divine and human)
Non-duality
Oneness—all is one
Enlightenment, chakra, it’s all relative, synchronicity with the Universe, raising energy/consciousness levels, affirming/afforming changes in reality, sending positive thoughts, innate human psychic powers etc, etc.

Whether implicitly or explicitly embraced, these two world views are antithetical….mutually exclusive. One is true and the other is false.  In the moral worldview of the bible knowledge is never ‘neutral’. That is why Paul calls one of these worldviews ‘the truth’ and the other worldview ‘the lie’ (Romans 1:25)

Oneism is the lie, and Twoism is the truth.

From the opening line in Genesis to Revelation (see above texts), the bible insists that there are two, and only two, kinds of reality…..the Creator, and everything else…the creation. But paganism merges the two into an idolatrous one.

 From time of gestation (mid sixties) to full birth (mid-nineties), a pagan Oneist worldview has virtually overrun and taken over our culture.  Pop culture (movies, TV shows, books/novels, spirituality, sexuality, ect.) has been both a cause and symptom of this Oneist juggernaut. For those who are sensitive, the amount of change that has occurred in the last 30 years has been staggering and heart-wrenching—nothing short of a second American Revolution…that has spread worldwide.

Secular humanism and pagan spirituality are both Oneist worldviews. For quite a while secular humanism was the dominant enemy of Christianity, but it is sputtering due to its lack of explanatory power and its consequences (two world wars). Ironically, our culture is not becoming less spiritual, but MORE spiritual…..but this spirituality is from hell. It denies the Creator (see Romans 1:18 ff) and deifies the creation.

We shall look at this in more detail in the coming weeks. But we must ask: is it over? Is it too late? The answer is not a nostalgic return to the 1950’s. We need a generation of spiritual warriors who are valiant for truth and are aware of this worldview shift…to bring the biblical worldview back and pray for revival/reformation.

 For now, my main goal was to make folks aware of the two competing worldviews.

 Next week we shall look at Carl Jung’s  massive contribution to this paradigm shift.

Essential Oils & Raindrop Therapy, Demonic Doorways, Part 2

Continued from Essential Oils & Raindrop Therapy, Demonic Doorways, Part 1

In this continuation of using Essential Oils and Raindrop Therapy we laid the ground work as to why this is purely Demonic.  Recapping these oils are infused from a blend of LAKOTAH Native American healing aspects along with Eastern Medicinal (Hindu) practices.  The reason why this is improper for Christians to partake is because of how they are made – nothing more than potions!

“Many people have said that we communicate to our Father through the pineal gland. I have not found documentation on that, so I don’t know that it is a correct statement, but I do believe when you have a spiritual experience you get this warm, burning, fuzzy feeling in your bosom. The chemical that creates that warm fuzzy feeling in your bosom is secreted from the pineal gland, and that may be the reason we are told by some scientists that the pineal gland is responsible for that communication which is very special” (D. Gary Young).

This is so totally New Age and demonic. D. Gary Young says this in the section called “Increasing Spiritual Communication.” Well, if he was actually communicating with the true God of the Bible he would know truth.  Because this oil opened his third eye, this is why he is spouting demonic lies and not Biblical truth!

D. Gary Young goes on to advise, “Let me share this with you–if you want to have a beautiful experience, take three drops of Cedar wood and mix it with six drops of Sandalwood and one drop of Cassia–then go into that sacred, quiet space and put this on and do your prayers and your meditations, and when you regain consciousness, write down what you remember. It will be a beautiful experience for you.”

Regain consciousness? What kind of experience is this? I will tell you what kind of experience that is - DEMONIC POSSESSION. Folks when I pray and have a good time with the Lord God Almighty I am not in an altered state of consciousness. This is so occultic and Demonic I don't even know how Christians as well as others who are not Christian cannot even see this!

To really understand where I am going, you need to understand what this type of witchcraft is. I am sure you have all heard the word 'potion' before. And maybe in a Bible Study you have heard the word for sorcery in Greek is Pharmakeia (Strong’s Greek 5331). These words refer to medicines or drugs that are combined together to accomplish a physical or spiritual intention. It is a potion. By the way I had to engage the Spirits of Pharmakeia in several past cases as RULING Spirits within several people!

What most people don't understand is that this practice of Raindrop Therapy opens your 'fifth' element up known as Akasha. In Vedantic Hinduism, Akasha means the basis and essence of all things in the material world; the first material element created from the astral world. A Vedic mantra “pṛthivyāpastejovāyurākāśāt” indicates the sequence of initial appearance of the five basic gross elements. Thus, first appeared the space, from which appeared air, from that fire or energy, from which the water, and therefrom the earth. It is one of the Panchamahabhuta, or "five gross elements"; its main characteristic is Shabda (sound). The direct translation of Akasha is the word meaning "upper sky" or 'space' in Hindu.

Many aroma therapists associate holistic aroma therapy with the theories of life force, vital energy, meridians and chakras, all of which are rooted in Taoist, Hindu and other eastern philosophies and eastern religions. Many alternative therapies are associated with New Age ideology and healing, based on the idea that God is a ‘universal force’ or ‘energy’ rather than the Christian belief in a personal God and Heavenly Father. Does this line up with the Holy God of the Bible, absolutely not!

Now if you think that this Essential Oil company and these other oil companies are not using psychic energy through WITCHCRAFT to charge their oils go ahead and read what D. Gary Young from Young Living oils has to say about it:

“Let me share a concept that we are going to get into later this week. You hold the oil in your hand and project your thoughts–whether you actually hold that oil and give it a blessing. To me, it isn’t the focal-ness of what you are saying that determines whether that oil has been blessed for that purpose, but the fact that you have directed your energy into that substance. That is what enhances the substance to do more and go further than it would ordinarily.”

D. Gary Young goes on to stated “That is an area where people say, ooh–now we are getting out in left field here. This is starting to sound like voodoo medicine.  Believe me, if anyone has that feeling, write it down!  Before class is over, I am going to show you scientifically how that works. It’s very frustrating for me at times when I talk to people about prayer or meditation or focusing thought without words and making things happen. We are so programmed to think Oh, you can’t possibly do that, that’s the workings of the devil.”

D. Gary Young goes on to state “Somewhere in Galatians it says, “All things that are good are of me.”  Write that down and keep that in mind.  Go look it up. That will do you more good than me doing it for you. It’s there.  All things that are worthy or of a good report.  It’s a beautiful scripture. When somebody starts to criticize you about what you are sharing with them and saying these are the workings of the devil, just pull out that scripture and read it to them. If they are an atheist, it won’t do you much good–and that is when you just stomp on their toe! Tell them if they had more faith, their toe would heal quicker! (12 Oils of the Bible, Gary Young)

People the scripture this man is quoting is from Romans 8:28, not Galatians and this scripture refers “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”  The KEY is called according to his purpose – thus meaning you work the WILL of God in your life – Casting out demons, going laying hands on the sick, washing the feet of your brothers, etc!

D. Gary Young is practicing witchcraft and so many Christians who are not doing their homework and just going with the 'feel good' moment are getting caught up in this 'sifting' of God.  This is exactly how witches have been using oils, way before Christians ever got involved. And this is exactly how Young Living is openly marketing their oils - BLATANT WITCHCRAFT!  People you need to stop using this falseness, get your life right with God, ask for forgiveness and repent of your evil ways. Then and only then can you cast out these Witchcraft & Demonic forces and layers out of you!

Are Dream Catchers Proper?

In this blog I hope to convey the paranormal aspects of those who use Dream catchers.  I have been inside the homes of people who have this for what they believe help with aspects of ‘blessings and protection’ as they have conveyed to me.

According to Wikipedia the Dream catchers have long been a part of Native American religion, lore, and art, originating with the Ojibwe, or Chippewa, and the Lakota, a confederation of seven Sioux tribes.   In some Native American cultures, a dreamcatcher (or dream catcher; Lakota: iháŋbla gmunka, Ojibwe: asabikeshiinh, the inanimate form of the word for "spider" or Ojibwe: bawaajige nagwaagan meaning "dream snare") is a handmade object based on a willow hoop, on which is woven a loose net or web. The dreamcatcher is then decorated with sacred items such as feathers and beads from the base of the circle.

The Ojibwe people have an ancient legend about the origin of the dreamcatcher.  Storytellers speak of the Spider Woman, known as Asibikaashi; she took care of the children and the people on the land. Eventually, the Ojibwe Nation spread to the corners of North America and it became difficult for Asibikaashi to reach all the children. So the mothers and grandmothers would weave magical webs for the children, using willow hoops and sinew, or cordage made from plants.

As one might suspect, the purpose of a dream catcher is to catch dreams—that is, to trap bad or evil dreams and channel good dreams to the sleeper. Dream catchers are usually placed in a window or above the bed, allowing the good dreams to drip down the feathers onto the sleeper below.

So do you see what this says above regarding the lore?  A spider woman who took care of children, really?  Does anyone with a sense of logic even see this?  Sounds very creepy and eerie to me with nothing more than a demonic force which is behind this aspect.  Especially if those of Native American heritage know of God and HIS son the Lord Jesus Christ.  Which makes this even worse for those who would even own or put ‘faith’ into this cursed object because of the intention of ‘magical’ aspects.

Essentially, the Dream catcher is intended to manipulate the spirit world.  Really, an object to manipulate the spirit world?  Why not then just hang an Ouija board over your bed or window to ask for some ‘magical’ aspect to protect you?  What I am doing here is making light of the dangers of using something like this within your life let alone your home.

Some people believe in the efficacy of Dream Catchers while others are unsure but are superstitious enough to keep one in the bedroom.  If you are Christian you are not to have anything to do with superstitions.  Others see dream catchers as part of a cultural history or a piece of art which looks good in their home or dangling from a rear-view mirror of an automobile!  These are not art, these are very powerful pieces of demonic objects which give demonic forces the rights to be in your presence and home.

Therefore, knowing the background of what Dream Catchers are about and their talisman-like use, people who profess Christ Jesus in their lives are to have nothing to do with them.  Is such concern warranted about this object?  Let’s examine a passage found in the Bible.  In 1 Corinthians 8 we find the apostle Paul is speaking to Christians living in an extremely pagan culture ruled by superstition, magic, and sacrifices, all done in the name of various idols.  The sacrifices were a particular concern, for the meat sacrificed was then sold at market.  Some Christians felt eating sacrificed meat was endorsing the sacrifice and therefore inappropriate for a Christian; others believed that, since they were not worshiping the idol themselves, it was not wrong.

So what did the Apostle Paul’s guidance offer these people?  Here is what the guidance implies: “There may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”—yet for us there is one God. . . . However, not all possess this knowledge.  But some, through former association with idols, eat food as really offered to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled” (1 Corinthians 8:5–7).

Ultimately, “food will not commend us to God.  We are no worse off if we do not eat, and no better off if we do,” yet we must be careful “that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak” (1 Corinthians 8:8, 9).  Just as it was with meat associated with idolatry in the 1st century, so it is with superstitious objects that we have today like a ‘Dream Catcher’.

The Christian needs to understand that false gods are nothing and that a Dream Catcher has no power in itself. Therefore the believer in Christ Jesus could easily see a Dream Catcher as nothing more than a craft or a cultural expression of ancestry.  However, before one buys a Dream Catcher and hangs it in the window, one should consider other people’s reactions to such an object.  The question becomes – “will others see it as a charm to manipulate the spirit world?”  Will someone assume the one in possession of a Dream Catcher approves of Indian religions (of pagan origins) but yet professes Christ Jesus as the Savior?

Keeping a dream catcher is a matter of conscience or free will.  Therefore as long as it is not used as a good luck charm, it might be innocent enough to some. However, consideration must be given to the very origins relating to a ‘Spider Woman’ protecting infants and young children.  To me that sounds like nothing more than Witchcraft dressed up to appear righteous.

Therefore if you are a person who has one of these objects within their home or life you just might want to reconsider. "The Dream Catchers" are often associated with the New Age movement, which is very un-Christian like.  If one truly holds to the mythology associated with Dream Catchers, I believe it very unwise to have one.

In a nutshell, one is assigning God-like power to an object. Therefore putting a created object ahead of God Almighty who created all, therefore is a sin (Rom 1:25). In essence, it is making that object an idol and can apply to all sorts of objects such as: amulets, tarot cards, crystals, horoscopes, ouija boards, a talisman, etc...

While many of you may scoff at this, I believe these things can and will open a door to evil spirits. Many Christians have reported this happening over the years.  Regarding Dream Catchers specifically, one can read testimonies from some Christians who have hung these things in their bedrooms or in other areas of their homes and had terrible nightmares as a result of this action.  Those who actually believe in the power of Dream Catchers believe they can ‘manipulate the spirit world’ and stop ‘negative energy.’  Don't you think it might be dangerous to associate with things found in the "spirit realm?"

A Spiritual Black Light

Recently my daughter-in-law mentioned how different the world is from what it used to be—it is more dark and dangerous. She is not alone in her observations. It seems that the vast majority of people know that our culture is in severe decline. Speaking personally as one who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s, there is no doubt that our country is vastly different. Where people differ is WHY this decline is occurring. Back in the day black lights and posters were immensely popular. I had my own and had fun with them. I would like to suggest that at the core of the cause of our cultural decay is a different kind of black light. I’ll come back to this shortly.

Vishen Lakhiani, founder of Mind Valley—which is perhaps the world's largest distributor of Neo-New Age teaching—is a kind and gentle man. I began receiving their daily emails a few years ago and have immersed myself in their emails and videos in order to understand what is happening in our world. I must add that I always pray before watching or listening to this material.

Recently I have been doing a series on the massive worldview shift that is occurring, where the paranormal is the ‘new-normal’, and that the idea of a Creator God distinct from His creation is being displaced by this new paradigm of paganism.

All the questions that entail a person’s worldview—what is ultimate reality, what does reality consist of, the nature of history, what is the meaning of life, what is the foundation for ethics, the nature of man, and what happens when we die? How we answer these extremely vital questions is determined by our worldview as well as informing our worldviews, especially what we believe is Ultimate reality. How a believer in the biblical God and creation answers these questions will differ drastically from those who see ultimate reality as oneness with the Universe….that creator and creation are co-extensive….or some variation of the notion of a collective unconsciousness (C G Jung) that we must tap into paranormally.

I mention all this so that as we explore one sample of this Neo-New Age thinking we will not miss the forest for the trees. If we are to be effective witnesses for Christ in our day then we must understand the ideas behind the ideas—the worldview shift. Otherwise we will miss the forest for the trees.

A few days ago I watched a video by Christie Marie Sheldon (one of the most popular teachers in the vast Mind Valley library). The basic premise was how to change your reality through changing your energy frequency. This has become a hot topic and millions are buying into some form of this teaching….including many preachers. It is the internet and companies like Mind Valley that are accelerating the speed with which these ideas are spreading. Whereas the Roman system of roads figured into the quick spread of the gospel, modern technological developments have shrunk the world and caused unprecedented spread of the gospel,  and also of anti-gospel messages.

In her presentation, Ms. Sheldon asserts that she can see other people’s energy fields, and she claims to be able to see the blockages to one’s consciousness, and how/when they were acquired…..and how to clear them.  Pretty heady stuff! No wonder she is one of the most popular presenters at Mind Valley, as well as amongst celebrities and CEO’s, etc. I can say from personal experience she is VERY persuasive. Some source is giving her very detailed and personal information into people’s pasts (or past lives)…..at this point she functions much like a psychic….with all the attendant dangers.

Again, her basic claim is that we can change our reality (love life, abundance, etc.) by altering our energy vibrations. She buttresses her claims by appealing to recent scientific discoveries. This is important because, as I have been saying, this new worldview is a marriage of the new science with paganism. It is claimed that a scientist was studying water molecules and that in natural state they are asymmetrical. However, when he placed a label on a bottle of water which said “love”, then as he studied the water in that bottle it displayed a lovely shape, much like a snowflake. He did the same with labels like ‘joy’ and ‘peace’. The results were varying shapes that were symmetrical and lovely. Since the human body is 70% water, then the inference is that focusing on the higher frequencies of positive thoughts would change our reality. Do you see how this “new science” is no longer at odds with spirituality, as the older secular science was? The problem is that most of this new science is wed to the new pagan spirituality, which is actually quite ancient….just clothed in modern garb. Whatever you think of the ‘experiment’, I must remind us that Satan has a keen interest in this evolution of science and spirituality.

How do we clear blockages that keep us from receiving from the universe all the love and abundance it wants to give us? She first mentions that we need to be acutely aware of how we may have self-limiting thoughts deep down.  I think it is important to say that, up to a point, she is right. A certain amount of “positive thinking” is good and healthy….even biblical.….We all have emotional scars but they need to brought before the throne of God and the teaching of the bible re the immense dignity of being made in God’s image….as well as the love of God that has been lavishly poured inside of us, if we are in union with Christ. If we believe we are failures or useless, then they will usually become self-fulfilling prophecies. However, it is due to self-sabotage and not due to some blockage in our chakras, as Ms Sheldon and innumerable other Neo-New teachers claim. We look to God and not His universe for affirmation and healing.

Some Christians will not even mention or admit that they may have a debilitating illness or disease because they think that by verbalizing it, then one is altering reality through negative affirmations. That is tragic and unbiblical. How can we pray with specificity re your disease if you are hesitant to even mention it? Sadly, the prosperity gospel, which has has been influenced by pagan categories, continues to attract many.

But back to Neo-New Age teachers…

Why do these teachers attract millions of followers? I think it is largely due to their scratching where most people itch. We want to make our lives count….to find love….to reach our full potential, and they give sensational and plausible sounding advice on how to make quantum leaps in these areas. However, they all state that the key is raising our vibrational energy in such a way as to align with the universe, which will then shower abundance upon us. That is idolatry, pure and simple. (Romans 1:18ff).

At this point, Ms. Sheldon led the group through a cleansing exercise. Starting from the head and going to the feet she systematically asked them to picture the liquid, loving light flowing through each body part. Then, she asked them to visualize this loving light going through their feet, and LET THEIR INFINITE BEING TO EXPAND. For the universe to respond, she guided them to expand to the moon….upwards and further out til she had their energy from their infinite being expanded beyond the galaxy. At each stage she said, “Feel the love, love, love….let the universe love you.” And at some point she said “You are now connecting to the oneness and source reality….see and feel your connection to the light.”

What light? Supernatural darkness can create a blaze of seeming liquid love and light which overwhelms the senses. This is the black light I referred to earlier. Not only are we being asked to initiate an OBE (out of body experience), but to astral project. And this OBE will allegedly lead to the consciousness cleansing interaction with the light. All of this is cause for great concern.

I say this with love, but these exercises are fraught with peril. We are finite beings (body-soul composite), not infinite energy in a body. And the practice of expanding one’s soul infinitely outward till it melts into the oneness of the universe, or meets some light/source energy in order to raise one consciousness/energy frequency, is a path to a false/counterfeit light. An increasing number of people are claiming to have had exquisite spiritual experiences while doing consciousness raising exercises. I do not doubt the reality of many of these experiences but I do question the identity or source behind these life-changing encounters with the universe or higher states of consciousness. My heart aches for all these dear folks who are seeking direct encounters with this ultimate reality, which in reality is a spiritual black light.

Do you see how this teaching is a reflection of the massive paradigm or worldview shift? We need to be able to connect the dots and see the common big idea behind the thousands of Neo-New Age expressions of it. One need not be an expert on all the various teachings—it is impossible—but to be an effective witness for the gospel we do need to recognize that behind it all is a shift away from the infinite/personal creator God of the bible and His creation (which is distinct from Him), towards the now dominant pagan worldview. Or Oneism vs twoism as we mentioned before.

It saddens me deeply to say this since I loved the 60’s-70’s, but that is the era when the floodgates of spiritual black light was opened, and so many things starting going downhill. Even Dr Drew recently mentioned that one can directly trace most of the current ills in society (especially psychology and relationships) to the 70’s. 2 Corinthians 11:14 mentions that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light….or we might paraphrase a spiritual black light. Behind all the hype and promise of spiritual light and abundance through raising one’s vibrational frequencies, is a counterfeit light. A light which at its core is pure darkness and evil. John 8:12 states that Jesus is the Light. Amen!

Will the Real Carl Jung Please Stand Up?‏

Last time we looked at the two competing worldviews of today, and throughout human history—Oneism (monism) and Twoism (biblical theism). How did Christianity (Twoism) begin to lose its influence? There are different ways of answering that question depending on how far back one wishes to go. I want to focus on recent developments.

There is a flow to human history, and cultures like ours don’t just emerge from nowhere, nor do they remain static. During the 20^th century secular humanism was seen as the arch-enemy of biblical Christianity. However, recently even non-Christian scholars are saying (even celebrating) that we now live in a post-secular culture, as well as the rebirth of ancient paganism. Indeed there is a wedding of the ‘New” science with spirituality (Eastern). In order to understand the changing direction of our society we need to meet Swiss psychologist, Carl Gustov  Jung, the creator of transpersonal  psychology.  He and his followers have had, and continue to have, a huge influence in the reshaping of Western Civilization. Many see Jung as the father of the New Age movement, which may come as a shock to some of you, but it is why I am focusing on him.

Carl Gustav Jung (/jʊŋ/; German: [ˈkarl ˈɡʊstaf jʊŋ]; 26 July 1875 – 6 June 1961), often referred to as C. G. Jung, was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who foundedanalytical psychology. His work has been influential not only in psychiatry but also in philosophy, anthropology, archaeology, literature, and religious studies. He was a prolific writer, though many of his works were not published until after his death.

The central concept of analytical psychology is individuation—the psychological process of integrating the opposites, including the conscious with the unconscious, while still maintaining their relative autonomy. Jung considered individuation to be the central process of human development. ^[37]

Individuation is a process of transformation whereby the personal and collective unconscious is brought into consciousness (by means of dreams, active imagination or free associationto take some examples) to be assimilated into the whole personality.

 

Jung created some of the best known psychological concepts, including the archetype, the collective unconscious, the complex, and extraversion and introversion.(Wikpedia)

 

It was Jung who coined the terms “introvert’ and ‘extrovert’, and the Meyers-Briggs personality type indicator was developed from his theories. As we’ll see, Jung’s introduction to Indian religion profoundly affected him, and in turn, his views trickled down to have an all pervasive impact on pop culture, across the board. Jung was an associate of Freud, but early on, they had a parting of the ways. Freud had no use for spirituality, but Jung saw it as the key to psychological healing. But his spirituality was not Christianity. For example, the integrating of opposites (individuation) is occultic, as we shall see.

For many people their early years are truly formative, and Jung was no exception. Though his father was a Lutheran pastor, it seems it was liberal formalism, and it was a turn off to Jung. His paternal grandfather was Grand Master of the Swiss Order of Freemasons, and his maternal grandfather was an occultist and spiritualist. His maternal grandmother was a seer who communicated with the spirits of the dead (demons) and gave prophecies. Carl’s mother was a medium who spent long periods enraptured with the spirits that visited her at night. For many years Jung attended séances with his mother and two cousins. Demonic influence came early and heavy.

Will the real Carl Jung please stand up? As we shall see there was much more to Jung than scientific theories and personality types.  Richard Noll, a psychologist and history of science professor at Harvard, dropped a bombshell on the academic community. The Jung Cult: Origins of a Charismatic Movement and The Aryan Christ: the Secret Life of Carl Jung stated thus: “This 20^th century mask (of scientific research) was constructed deliberately, and somewhat deceptively, by Jung to make his own magical, polytheist, pagan worldview more palatable to a secularized world conditioned to respect only those ideas that seem to have a scientific air to them.” Makes sense given his background.

Noll was vindicated with the publication of the Red Book fifty years after Jung’s death. In this volume Jung explains what he went through after his spit with Freud. During this time he experienced ‘psychotic fantasies’ and ‘numerous paranormal phenomena’. He became immersed in the world of the dead. In the Red Book, Jung gives details of what he called ‘numinous experiences’, which included his relationship with a spirit-guide named Philemon, whom he described as a pagan old man with the horns of a bull and the wings of a bird. As Jung began to have many paranormal experiences, Philemon introduced him to Abraxas, the devil-god of Gnosticism. Philemon referred to Jung as Christ. The demonic nature of Jung’s life and work is sadly indisputable. For a long time I thought Abraxas was simply the name of one of Carlos Santana’s albums!! lol

He further admits the significance of his paranormal experiences with the spirit world from 1914-1930 when he “..pursued…with the help of alchemy….the inner images…that threatened to break me”

Everything he wrote after these experiences was , as he put it, the ‘outer classification’ of them. In other words, all of Jung’s complex theories and voluminous writings, were a series of ‘footnotes’ to his early and direct experiences with the spirit realm (the demonic).Near the end of his life Jung said, “We can no longer practice any psychology that ignores the existence of parapsychology (paranormal phenomena).” (pg 58, The Undiscovered Self).

Jung was involved with what has been called “depth psychology”. As Christians, we must realize that there is a deep depth to human nature. So, in this sense Jung was helpful.

As Dr Peter Jones says, “For Jung, the future of psychology lay in the development of paranormal spiritualism. This becomes evident in the Red Book…” (The Other Worldview, pg.33) Transpersonal psychology was based on Jung’s own experience of the paranormal and on newly rediscovered pagan  traditions and symbolism/myths. His original doctoral dissertation was titled, “On the Psychology and Pathology of So-Called Occult Phenomena”.

Last time we noted that at the heart of the occult/Oneist worldview is the blurring or combining of creational distinctions. Oneist gives it away does it not? All is ONE….monism, dressed in western garb. Individuation, or the blurring of creational distinctions, was at the heart of Jung’s thought and he learned this concept from studying Eastern religions. We see that this modern mania to mock/erase God’s distinctions within His good creation, got its impetus from Jung. I saw the recent TV premier of Bruce Jenner’s outing, which will be a series. It saddens me to see how influential this man is becoming in further popularizing this notion of ‘individuation’.

 The Collective Unconscious…. "there does seem to be a basic ambiguity in Jung's various descriptions of the Collective Unconscious. Sometimes he seems to regard the predisposition to experience certain images as understandable in terms of some genetic model"^[75] – as with the collective arm. However, Jung was "also at pains to stress thenuminous quality of these experiences, and there can be no doubt that he was attracted to the idea that the archetypes afford evidence of some communion with some divine or world mind' (accent added), and perhaps 'his popularity as a thinker derives precisely from this" The collective unconscious included the psychic memories of individuals of the past…leading way back. “ (Wikpedia)  The statement regarding his popularity due to this concept is an understatement!

It is difficult to exaggerate how significant this notion of accessing or communing with the collective unconscious --universe/divine/world mind has become in New Age circles today. The Star War series resonates with this notion of ‘the force’, as do many other movies , TV shows, games, ect  It has become deeply ensconced in our culture.

STOP…and REFLECT---the modern view of psychological health is based in large part on a pagan worldview on how the world and humans work!  The individuation he spoke of was clearly a Oneist worldview, which we spoke of last week. Jung was a prophet of a Oneist  worldview, where all is god, and god is all. All creational distinctions (good/bad, male/female, etc) were joined together in his system, in order to achieve maximum psychic health.

What is the legacy of Jung? His ideas have infiltrated every aspect of culture. His psychological model described healthy human behavior as connection with one’s subconscious and with archetypes. Sexual and spiritual liberation were essential for the therapeutic health of the subconscious and being re-united with the divine. His psycho-spiritual model of healing had enormous influence, inside and outside the church. Many mainline denominations saw Jung as therapeutic ‘savior’ from the atheistic Freud. Pastoral care givers were affected and there was a flood of pastors becoming Jungian analysts,

Wealthy families like the Rockefellers, the McCormick’s, and the Mellon’s financially supported Jung’s vision, and were clients themselves. This helped to popularize Jung’s theories. Speaking of his theories, this is a blog, and not an academic paper, on Jung. I didn’t have time to elaborate on his all his major theories. However, all that is said in this blog comes from sources well documented (eg  P Jone’s book).

Jung provided a spiritual and therapeutic mechanism for the individual’s subconscious to be liberated from the ethical demands of holy living and the pain of guilt. Ethics were relativized and personal desire became the basis for psychological healing and human maturity. In a justification of an extra-marital affair with a young student, Jung wrote, “Nothing matters but the completion of the self.” Jung died in 1961 but his verbiage became the motto for the sexual revolution of the 1960’s—‘If it feels good, then do it.”

Jung’s therapy caught on, and today, the subconscious trumps every other authority or truth, including (and especially) the bible. Discovery of the inner self has become a national passion, leading to unprecedented narcissism. Being in tune with the Universe as well as consciousness raising has become ubiquitous in a thousand different New Age flavors….all tracing back to Jung….who was inspired by the ancient ‘perennial philosophy” or pagan/occult worldview.

Take a moment to think of several New Age theories or practices—everything from ascension to yoga-and one can hear the terms and categories Jung introduced into Western culture. I can think of no modern thinker who did more to derail our cultural train off its biblical tracks than Carl Jung. His influence is found virtually everywhere….even in the church.

Lest I be misunderstood, I affirm the value of much psychology/psychiatry. We need Christians in these fields to ‘bring every thought captive to Christ.”  Christians can bring a true/realistic view of human nature to the discussion, as well as a full-orbed approach to psychological healing based on the finished work of Christ on the cross, plus nothing. And we bring a knowledge of the Fall, which brought in its wake (among other disconnects) man’s separation from himself…beginning of psychological problems. The bible is not an exhaustive handbook on psychology, so there are many useful things we can learn from this field.

The New Age has matured and wears many, many different masks. However, if you look at the common motifs in each, one will see the categories and methodology of Carl Jung—and the Oneist worldview he championed. Much more could be said regarding perhaps the most influential thinker from the 20^th century up til today. However, for anyone who wants to understand how we got to the horrible place we are currently at, and how to sensitively speak the unchanging truth with courage and effectiveness to our generation, then one needs to let the real Carl Jung to stand up….and be challenged.
