DON’T LOOK AT ME -- I DIDN’T WRITE IT

It came to my attention last night that an eBook was published on Amazon and posted [at least parts of it] on a website. This book concerns subjects that in the past I have been very vocal about. But I didn't write the book.

Let me make some points on the matter:

1 I did talk to someone about the subject of the book.

2 I was sent a PDF file, but what I was shown was not the one published.

3 I never gave permission for the extensive excerpts taken from my published work nor for reprinting of blogs from eye on the Paranormal and Shedding Some Light.

4 The person the book is about is a done subject to me--at least when it comes to this blog.

5 I am done with this matter as I'm now focusing on the subjects of cults and lies of the new age and how both are impacting the paranormal field. And I'll focus on cults within the Christian community.

So whoever published that book--you should be willing to take the heat for it.

What Are Shadow Figures?

What are shadow figures? I am going to make this short and to the point, because there is no need to go into details which, to me, are superfluous to the question raised...WHAT are they? My thesis is that all shadow figures are demons.

In the bible, there is a warfare between Light and darkness. This is not a black/white issue, but a dark vs light issue....big difference.Throughout the bible God is seen as perfect light...indeed He is Light--as Jesus proclaimed. His followers are to reflect the Lord's light.In oppossition to the God of Light (moral purity) is the Prince of darkness...Satan and his minions.Darkness is the image of moral impurity and evil, and flees from the light (John 3) Demons are walking darkness, so a shadow figure would be a perfect expression of perfect evil.

Second, God HAD to create the human soul, because an impersonal, physical universe could not give birth to an invisible soul; that would be like water rising above its source...impossible. So...why would God create our souls to appear in such a way that they would frighten everyone, because it appears as a shadow? Does it make any sense that.God would create souls to look like that? I don't think so.

Third, if there is one word that captures the essence of all forms of shadow figures is that they are "furtive".They dart around elusively, from shadow to shadow. The first act of furtive behavior as that of Adam and Eve immediately after they sinned. They slunk around the garden trying to hide from God's holy gaze.If we see our children walking around with a furtive look, we know they have been up to no good! Furtiveness is a universal behavior of creatures who feel morally naked before a holy God, or before fellow humans. Hence, the furtive behavior of shadow figures should give us pause.There is something "wrong" with them, because they have done wrong. They ARE wrong. Pure evil (demons) walks furtively through God's world.as shadow figures.

Fourth, a salient component of the human soul is invisibility. No surgeon has ever seen one; they don't weigh anything despite what some might think.It is assumed that the soul does not change when it leaves the body; it remains invisible.That being the case, then how do we explain their sudden ability to become visible? All these shadow figures are obviously now visible. How did that occur? Who changed a key trait of "soulness" (invisibility), so that the soul becomes visible in homes all across the world? Please don't say God, because it was Him would made the soul invisible in the first place. They are better explained as demons; it avoids this conundrum altogether.

Lastly, there is a maxim that is pretty well accepted as consensus in the paranormal community: as in life, so in death. That is, if a person was a jerk in life, then he will be a jerk ghost. Common sense dicates that there must be a continuity of basic character and personality from life to death. A kind but extroverted.living man should be a kind and extroverted ghost...a godly living woman who sings Jesus's praises all day long, will ostensibly be a ghost who is godly and sings Jesus's praises continually.The problem is that all shadow figures seem to be essentially the same. Is there one EVP that captures a shadow figure praising the person and work of Jesus? I don't think so. Like you, I have heard countless hours of EVP's, and once or twice Jesus was mentioned, but there is no element of rhaphsodic praise of His beauty.

If shadow figures are dead souls, then why is there not a corresponding variety amongst them? But this is precisely what we would expect if they were demons...all of which are pure evil. Ochams razor would indicate that the simplest answer is that shadow figures are demons...all of them.

MUSINGS ON SYNCRETISM by Reverend Mark Hunnemann

Recently on The Paranormal Christian Kristine McGuire was our featured guest, and she was fabulous! A former witch, Kristine attempted to blend witchcraft with Christianity; a process known as syncretism. So, the heart of syncretism is the blending of a non-biblical belief with Christianity..Obviously, witchcraft and Christianity don't and can't mix, but there are many others who mix some elements of witchcraft in their approach to the paranormal and demonology. In fact, syncretism in the paranormal community is at a all-time high. Numerous other beliefs have crept into people's thinking that have been added to the bible. In effect, it is the opposite of sola scriptura (the bible alone). Though we will be focusing on the paranormal community, syncretism can be found all over the place, including the church. In fact, I want to start there because it explains why so few pastors are even aware of the supernatural...in any meaningful way. One more initial point: we will categorize the different syncretism options into occult and non-occult beliefs.

If only my head were a pool of water, and my eyes a fountain of tears. I would weep day and night for all my people who have been slaughtered. (Jer.9:1) Unless you have the eyes to see (a biblical worldview), then the supernatural slaughter going on across America will be dimly, if at all, seen. My heart is breaking because of a call I got an hour ago...or is it the double case in a neighboring town I’m currently immersed in....or maybe the constant concern for Christians who are ill-equipped to deal with the supernatural darkness in their homes...or...and so on. This newsletter is NOT entertainment or cool ideas. I am a broken man in many ways, and I plead with you to think hard about the ideas we will be discussing.

Why is the church so dismissive of the recent explosion of interest in the supernatural? What is odd is that even denominations that historically have stressed the Holy Spirit and spiritual warfare in general, are asleep when it comes to the nuclear explosion of interest in the paranormal.. Let me state this loud and clear: not every pastor is asleep; there are some fine preachers who are quite attuned. But, sadly, they are the exception..

What has blinded the church, and is our first example of non-occultic syncretism, is physicalism. What is that? There is nothing wrong with the physical; that is part of God's creation.(Gen.1:31) But physicalism is the belief that the physical world is all there is. Now, no bible believing pastor is going to say that the physical or material word is all there is, but when they ignore or downplay the reality of the supernatural, then they have become practical physicalists. That is, they are acting as if the physical is all there is. Too few sermons speak clearly and unambiguously about our battle with a supernatural foe. I have a blog entitled The Bible and Ghosts; But how many sermons were preached in the last ten years in American churches on the topic of the bible and ghosts? Very, very few. Hence, the average Christian is abysmally ignorant of Satan's schemes and left non-discerning when it comes to supernatural evil. The syncretism of physical-ism and the church has been catastrophic. My heart breaks for those Christians who, at this very moment, are consciously co-existing with pure evil because they think it is "Aunt Agnes".

The second non-occultic syncretism belief is scientism. This is perhaps the most prevalent -ism plaguing Christians in the paranormal community. Again, science is wonderful, but when you add the ism it spells syncretism. It is foolish to think that the soul and the supernatural realm can be put under a microscope. Am I saying not to use science on investigations? A thousand times NO! (I have to be brief) The issue is: what is the intellectual starting point for paranormal research...is it science or the bible? If you are a Christian and you answer "science" then you have mixed a nefarious blend of scientism.

Third non-occultic syncretism belief is what I call phenomenal-ism. We study the phenomena, but when the primary means of identifying entities in the paranormal realm is based on their appearance, then we again become naive. Phenomenology is something seen discussed on paranormal seminars, but what it means is the study of things as they appear. Ask many folks how to determine if something is demonic, and they will give a litany of certain things that will appear in some fashion. The problem is that if a demon appears as an angel of light, then phenomenalism will miss it every time. I realize this may sound kind of technical and dry to some, but this where it is at folks. If you add appearance to the bible as the means of identifying supernatural reality, then you have created a cauldron of syncretism.

Fourth non-occultic syncretism is pragmatism. There is nothing wrong and everything right in being pragmatic; this is merely recognizing the need for things to work. The statement ""A” works because it is true" is consistent with the bible, but if you say ""A" is true because it works” then that is pragmatism; an un-biblical view of truth rampant in the paranormal community. If the primary means of determining if a paranormal theory is true is if it works, instead of if it is consistent with the bible, then the door to syncretistic darkness has opened. The difference between the above two statements may seem like playing with words, but it is anything but play...it is deadly serious. The bible works because it is true, and NOT vice versa (the bible is true because it works).When we place ourselves as the arbiters of truth based on what we think works, then God help us. Of course truth works...that is what real, objective truth does! It works...it correspond to reality. When we posit theories based primarily on the basis of our conviction that it works, then we have fallen prey to pragmatism. We, and what we think works, should not be the primary criterion for determining paranormal truth..That is placing our autonomous reason in judgment over the bible. and it creates another intoxicating syncretism brew.

One more ism which is a non-occultic syncretism is relativism and subjectivism. Maybe a decade ago, Dr Allen Bloom wrote The Closing of the American Mind. In it professor Bloom states that one thing he knows to be certainly true is that 95 percent of the incoming freshman will have fully embraced relativism and subjectivism. This is the belief that truth is not objective and it varies from person to person. Like all the other -isms above, these two are like invisible pollutants in the air that we breathe. More accurately would be the water a goldfish swims in unthinkingly.  Even bible believing Christians have been bitten by these two -ism bugs. Christians in the paranormal community must be aware of and resist these demonic distortions of the nature of truth. The bible is true truth, and it has trans-generational and trans-cultural inerrant authority. How else can we explain the wholesale ignoring of Deut. 18? I am convinced that this "soft" view of truth has hamstrung Christians from being salt and light in the paranormal community.

When it comes to occultic examples of syncretism they are legion (pun intended).We mentioned witchcraft at the outset, and it is frightful how common aspects of witchery have infiltrated the beliefs and methodologies in the paranormal community. Practices as common as smudging are rooted in the occult. As a Christian, what is your biblical text in support of the alleged efficacy of burning sage to dispel demonic spirits or to merely cleanse an area? Does this not diminish the sole sufficiency of the work of Christ...and does it not denigrate His singular honor and dignity? The increased use of Christian psychics and mediums is surely syncretism of the worst kind. Rituals and beliefs borrowed from magick are too numerous to mention, but Christians are embracing them in the demonology field. That must stop because it is detestable to God.(Deut. 18) (the reason I keep quoting from this text is because, according to principles of sound hermeneutics, it should be our primary text)

A professing Christian that I have tried to help, had an erotic relationship with Michael Jackson, or his alleged ghost as are many women. Sadly, he/it won't leave her alone now, all day at work, and then at home, she is constantly being massaged or touched somewhere on her body. She has become a bundle of frayed nerves, and to relax she has incorporated what even she calls New Age relaxation therapy. The key, she says, to becoming whole again is for her to change her vibrational frequency. Today it is all about energy vibration, isn't it? Once again, this woman told me she knows it is not biblical, but she does it because it works (pragmatism) for awhile.  Vibrations, meditation, visualization, energy transfer, quantum jumping, hypnosis, divine consciousness, EVP collection, paganism, neo-Gnosticism, goddess, obtaining Christ consciousness; all of these and many more may fall under the expansive umbrella of New Age occultic beliefs and practices. When you add any, or a combination of them to the bible then it is syncretism.

Syncretism is like being married and telling your spouse that you are also being intimate with another person. That is how the bible views syncretism; He considers it spiritual adultery. Our Lord is deeply grieved when we try to add anything to the finished work of Christ. Please note this...we are Christians first....husbands/wives. Paranormal investigator, US citizen (and so on) are a distant second or third. The gospel according to Jesus is one in which we count the cost of discipleship; we become ever vigilant against any syncretism knocking on the door of our hearts. Where and how have you succumbed to any form of syncretism?

What Does The Bible Say About Ghosts?

I’m not to gung-ho on any Bible study that does it from English and ignores the original Greek and Hebrew translations of the Scriptures. I’m also not happy with scholars that haven’t bothered to study Jewish, Roman, or Greek social norms and mores of the times in which the scriptures were written. Way too much of the meaning is lost in translations that ignore the root of the society and time the words were coming from.

For example if I said, “It’s raining cats and dogs outside.” You would know I meant it’s raining very hard. You would not immediately assume I meant that cats and dogs were literally falling from the sky. But when you attempt to understand the Bible without understanding what Jesus and the disciples really meant, because you don’t know the language, idioms, geography, social norms, and mores you will misinterpret so much.

The scriptures were written without punctuation or verse markers. Adding it makes assumptions and twists the meaning. A commonly misunderstood passage is when Jesus was dying on the cross, he said, in Luke 24:43 And Jesus said unto him Verily I say unto thee today shalt thou be with me in paradise

When the punctuation is removed or a comma put after the word today, the phrase jives with the rest of the scriptures that say the dead "sleep". Deuteronomy 31:16 Shakab to lie down (in death) However, our first aware moment will be with Jesus in Paradise.

When we go with the meaning that the dead “sleep” and understand that the apostles understood this to be true, we can look at the words from the Greek and Hebrew that mean ghost or spirit.

Ghosts exist in Greek mythology as does communicating with the dead. The belief in ghosts was a part of their culture and did influence the cultural climate of the day.

When the apostles saw Jesus walking to them on the water, they could think of no other explanation.

However, when we look at the word studies for ghost or spirit we get:

Matthew 14:25-27 phantasma (Greek) spirit translated from (Hebrew) Av=Breath.

Genesis 25:8 Abraham gave up the ghost was the word Gava (Hebrew), which means to breathe out one’s life.

(These are just two of many examples)

In both we see it clearly does not refer to a “spirit“, but the act of dying, taking the last breath. Again, the early disciples knew death would be their estate until the judgment/rapture/second coming.

If an apparition is not that of a once living person, what is it? According to scripture, one third of the angels and supernatural creatures fell from heaven in the war (Revelations 12:7). Ghosts are simply different types of demonic/angelic/supernatural manifestations. Psychics Talk for God – Parts I & 2

Starting next week we'll launch a new feature called HEADLINE MONDAY. These will be actual headlines concerning things paranormal or paranormal-related that, more than likely, others won't share with you. The news will sometimes be funny, sometimes sad, but always entertaining!

GOD vs. PSYCHICS

I was hoping to get started with the great lie that people in the New Age and psychics prefer to keep hush-hush. It's all found in the first book of the Bible throughout the book of Genesis, and up to the New Testament. [Yet a well known psychic stuck foot-in-mouth when informing a radio show host that there was no passage in the New Testament that dealt with psychics].

But my eyesight issues this week has made doing so a little too difficult. By next week those issues will be gone as I really want to lay that foundation as I have been busy brushing up on cult awareness. I want to start taking a look at cults and the paranormal.

BREAKING NEWS ~ PSYCHICS TALK FOR GOD!

Yes folks, according to the many psychic supporters, you can forget prayer. You can get up off your knees, get out your credit card/s, and pay 'em because they can tell you better than anyone what God is saying!

Not long ago I noticed on my Facebook newsfeed a comment from one of my friends that they were going to treat themselves to a yearly visit to their local psychic. I posted a comment that why not save their money and just talk to God? He never charges and it won't be for entertainment purposes only. A few weeks later, she posted a response to my comment basically saying that psychics are great in interpreting what God was telling you. When I read things like that it really makes me go WTF?

When did the psychics insert themselves between us and God? When did God become dependent on psychics to tell us things? Yes, there were dream interpreters and prophets within the Bible but they didn't have business cards. They didn't do phone readings. They didn't post the disclaimer: FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. And if they weren't 100% accurate, they got stoned to death.

When you talk to God there is no charge!

He doesn't ask anything of us when we speak to him. God is there 24/7/365 – and that includes Leap Years! He'd like us to have a personal relationship with his Son, but that's not required. We have free will, you know.

When we talk to psychics there is always a charge.

This is an odd issue to me. Often psychics will compare themselves to prophets in the Bible and claim they have the same gift. Yet in no chapter or verse within the Bible do we ever find a prophet charging for their services. Psychics claim:  "This is how I earn a living." Again, the prophets of the Bible didn't charge any money but God took care of them. If psychics have faith in GOD and their gift is from God, He will take care of them.

Often the next fallback is for those psychics to mention that doctors have the gift of healing and they are paid. That's mixing apples with oranges. Doctors may have been guided into medicine by God. He might help oversee their decisions and care given to a patient, but the patient isn't healed by the doctor in the mysterious way God heals someone through prayer and the laying of hands.

When you talk to God he is 100% accurate 100% of the time.

When you talk to a psychic -- they can go from being 0% right on up.

When you talk to God …

There is no topic off the table. If you need healing it's there. If you need guidance on a job, a purchase, whether to get pregnant, etc., He will give you advice and help any way He can. And it's not for entertainment purposes only. God says what He means and stands behind it.

When you talk to a psychic …

There are all kinds of disclaimers and limitations. There's no guarantee whatsoever.

Let's take a look at the legal disclaimer that psychics post. Again, this is not from any particular psychic, but we took a look at many different psychics' websites.

For entertainment purposes only.

How odd that a claim is made that they have a gift, yet they have no faith in that gift. So with that statement they claim they are only an actor playing a role. You pay them to play a psychic. Which means their reading is nothing more than a sham. Why? Because it's only entertainment. What would happen if you went to a church that practiced the spiritual gifts of healing, prophecy, etc., and the pastor started his sermon by saying: "THIS IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY!" Would you stay there?

Psychics claim:

That no psychic [note they say no psychic] can predict, forecast or diagnose with absolute certainty.

That's always troubling to me. It's their escape clause. I just can't say I'll be right. Would you take a job if the boss said, "I'm not sure if you'll be paid." Would you go to a doctor who said, "My advice might be way off." Would you trust an instructor who informed you at the start of the class, "Sorry, the money you just paid for the class might be wasted! I'm not sure what I'm saying is right or not, my interpretation might be way off."

It's odd that psychics claim legitimacy via the Bible and the dream interpreters and prophets, yet they say they can't be as good as them. Yet the men mentioned in the Bible like Daniel and Ezekiel have hit things on the head 100% of the time.

Psychics will say…

They can't be held responsible for actions and decisions made by the client as a result of the reading.

What that means is that they can make things up and tell you what you want to hear. They won't be held liable for anything they tell you. So if they tell you that job will work out, that the business will succeed, that that boyfriend of yours is cheating on you, it doesn't matter if it's true. You act on it. The job sucks, the business fails, and the boyfriend isn't cheating. You take that advice depending on these psychics and boy do you pay the price.

But there is another problem. What if that man or woman was your Mr./Ms. Right and you backed away from them? What if that job or business was the career for you and you backed away from it? Who pays the price? You do. And your relationship with God does. [They say their gift is from God. If they're wrong, then God is wrong. So the trust in God is destroyed]. And the psychic doesn't care—they're just sipping margaritas on the beach.

Psychics say …

For medical or legal matters they won't talk about those topics as you need to see a medical or legal professional.

Again, they claim their gift is from God. [Next week we'll take a closer look at where that gift might be from]. Yet they have no faith in it. If they did, they could/would help people in any matter. Say what you want about Edgar Cayce, but did he ever turn someone away that came to him for medical advice?

See, I believe in the spiritual gifts. You won't find a person who believes in them more. And what I believe on top of that is that there are so many fakers, so many actors, and so many wannabes. The final and last difference between talking to God and talking to a psychic is this: He loves you yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Most psychics' love lasts until your minutes are done or you card is maxed out. And they move on to their next victim…I mean client.

Psychics Talk for God - Part 2

Did you notice the lack of response by psychics to my previous blog? Why is that? The haters and fakers would say it was simply a lack of interest in my blog. Personally, I think it had more to do with the fact that they know I'm right and they fear where I'm about to go with this blog series.

I recall being part of the new age back in the 80's. I had to chance to meet some of the top psychics, mediums, channelers, and so-called teachers. I drank with them [and we're not talking coffee], I saw their excesses [even new age teachers have groupies and bed hopping was very common], and I took lessons from them [read a bunch of religions and occult practices, mix 'em together, keep your stories straight and soak the public]. This was their best advice then and it hasn't changed. One wonders how many of them are sociopaths, psychopaths and narcissists? How many of them have absolutely no conscience and how many have sold out to the dark side? And their escape clause is that it's all for entertainment purposes only.

One of our readers asked a very interesting question after reading last week's blog.

"Not trying to stir the pot, but ministers and preachers get paid and television evangelists make big bucks. Should they feel bad for charging, too? People have to make a living."

 Ministers are people who aren't just doing a job--they are responding to a calling from God. Their hours aren't from 9 to 5, but 24 hours a day. They are on call to their flock at any time. No matter if it's a natural disaster, death, illness, or crisis, they are expected to be there. They are expected to teach the word of God to their flock. They are expected to reach out to the poor, the hungry, the sick, and those who have not heard the word of God/those who are unsaved. It's not just a job to them. More often than not, unless it's a big church, they do this for little or no pay and have to work a side job to make ends meet. In many cases, they have a family to support.

Are there pastors that make a lot of money? Yes. There are new mega-churches that do pay well. Yet at the same time, it's a 24-hour a day situation. And in the mega-churches their responsibilities are even greater; not only to the flock but to the organization as well.

TV and radio evangelists: again there are two categories: the big ones and the small ones. They are responding to the call of God to carry His word to not only a flock but to the world. Again, more often than not, it's a 24-hour a day situation.

The big time organizations have the same issues, but magnified. [No, I'm not naive enough to think that all are legit: there are good ones and bad ones]. The bad ones need to be exposed -- like Bob Larson's.

So, in the case of people working for the glory of God, they certainly deserve to get paid.

Now let's look at psychics. Are they called by God to do this? Are they on call 24/7? Do they give advice and consul for free? Do they visit the sick and feed the hungry? Give water to the thirsty? Clothe the naked? No. It's simply a way to make money. Some say that only being a psychic is a small part of their lives when they are getting paid to give readings. Their life is their life. Do they teach for free? But most importantly, do they give the glory to the Lord?

Again, they say it's a gift. If so, give it to others for free. I've never heard a pastor say I will lay hands on you or pray for you for $29.95. I will share my visions/dreams I have had about you, or the gift of prophecy, for a fee. But the psychic does.

I read a book that was written by the former flavor of the month when it comes to psychics, who said their gift was uncertain. Whatever they saw was open to interpretation. Now is this a gift the public should trust? But remember: it's for entertainment purposes only, it has that escape clause.

Where in the Bible does it ever speak of God's gift[s] of spiritual insights, visions, dreams, prophecy, laying on of hands as uncertain? Would you follow a God that was kind of right sometimes? The Bible teaches us that the God of the Bible is the God of all Gods. He hears everything, He is always there and He is always right. Where does the Bible say the spiritual gifts are not certain? The prophets of old have never been off the mark. Where does it say what He says is uncertain? He stands behind His word and His gifts. And in no chapter or verse within the Bible will you find the phrase: for entertainment purposes only.

The lies these psychics tell and force themselves to follow won't help them when the end comes. Saint Peter at the gate is no respecter of personalities. The judge that sits on the most high throne doesn't buy into popular lies and tools of mass marketing and deceptions.

10 Questions for the Dalai Lama

Do you ever feel angry or outraged? —Kantesh Guttal, PUNE, INDIA
Oh, yes, of course. I'm a human being. Generally speaking, if a human being never shows anger, then I think something's wrong. He's not right in the brain. [Laughs.]

How do you stay so optimistic and faithful when there is so much hate in the world? —Joana Cotar, FRANKFURT
I always look at any event from a wider angle. There's always some problem, some killing, some murder or terrorist act or scandal everywhere, every day. But if you think the whole world is like that, you're wrong. Out of 6 billion humans, the troublemakers are just a handful.

How has the role set out for you changed since you first came to be the Dalai Lama? —Andy Thomas, CARMARTHEN, WALES
I became the Dalai Lama not on a volunteer basis. Whether I was willing or not, I [had to study] Buddhist philosophy like an ordinary monk student in these big monastic institutions. Eventually I realized I have a responsibility. Sometimes it is difficult, but where there is some challenge, that is also truly an opportunity to serve more.

Do you see any possibility of reconciliation with the Chinese government in your lifetime? —Joseph K.H. Cheng, MELBOURNE
Yes, there is a possibility. But I think past experience shows it is not easy. Many of these hard-liners, their outlook is very narrow and shortsighted. They are not looking at it in a holistic way. However, within the People's Republic of China, there is wider contact with the outside world. There are more and more voices of discontentment among the people, particularly among the intellectuals. Things will change — that's bound to happen.

How can we teach our children not to be angry? —Robyn Rice, GRAND JUNCTION, COLO.
Children always look to their parents. Parents should be more calm. You can teach children that you face a lot of problems but you must react to those problems with a calm mind and reason. I have always had this view about the modern education system: we pay attention to brain development, but the development of warmheartedness we take for granted.

Have you ever thought about being a normal person instead of being the Dalai Lama? —Grego Franco, MANILA
Yes, at a young age. Sometimes I felt, "Oh, this is a burden. I wish I was an unknown Tibetan. Then I'd have more freedom." But then later I realized that my position was something useful to others. Nowadays I feel happy that I'm Dalai Lama. At the same time, I never feel that I'm some special person. Same — we are all the same.

Do you miss Tibet? —Pamela Delgado Córdoba, AGUASCALIENTES, MEXICO
Yes. Tibetan culture is not only ancient but relevant to today's world. After seeing the problems of violence, we realize that Tibetan culture is one of compassion and nonviolence. There is also the climate. In India during monsoon season, it is too wet. Then, I very much miss [Tibet].

What do you say to people who use religion as a pretext to violence or killing? —Arnie Domingo, QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES
There are innocent, faithful people that are manipulated by some other people whose interest is different. Their interest is not religion but power or sometimes money. They manipulate religious faith. In such cases, we must make a distinction: these [bad things] are not caused by religion.

Have you ever tried on a pair of trousers? —Ju Huang, STAMFORD, CONN.
When it's very, very cold. And particularly in 1959, when I escaped, I wore trousers, like laypeople dressed. So I have experience.

Do you believe your time here on earth has been a success? —Les Lucas, KELOWNA, B.C.
Hmmm. That's relative. It's so difficult to say. All human life is some part failure and some part achievement.

The Darkest Hours of Jesus

Over the past few years there has been an effort by many to alter the story of Jesus Christ, His life, and how he died. These fictitious alterations have more often been wrong than right, and have confused and bewildered people, thus causing inner conflict and doubt.

This Easter, I’m going to write about my Jesus, the Jesus that I have grown to love, admire, respect, but never completely comprehend. My Jesus is the only Son of God. Sent here to earth to end the need for the Law of Perfection that the world suffered under until the day He was nailed to the cross. Born of Mary, a virgin, and Joseph, his earthly father, He was not a child of some rabbi or spiritual leader, or of a Roman centurion. Jesus, the child, turned into a man who under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Lord himself, was taught all the knowledge to understand and comprehend His role in the struggle of good over evil, of light over darkness, of love over anger, and of peace over unrest. 

If He did travel to India and Tibet to study under great masters, that’s fine, but it’s not important. If He didn’t, that’s good as well. If He got caught up in politics and wanted to see Israel free of Roman power, so what? He was a man, He had the power to think, and speak His own thoughts. But none of that really matters. Was he married to Mary Magdalene? Had children, even? Again, that’s not an issue that I hang any great importance upon. For what is the greatest expression of being but a man loving a woman and giving life to a child? So if he experienced this, great. If not, then that act of sacrificing a normal family life so that he could serve all of mankind. Did He come up with totally original and new ideas about the world? Some bold, brave, and new kind of thinking? No. Does that make him less a teacher if His message is simply one of love and compassion? Caring for your fellow man? That there can be victory over illness, suffering, and bondage in this very life and in death? That there is the reward of being one with the Father and being reunited with your loved ones? The most excellent truths we can seek are often the old ones. And when He learned what the final act of His earthy life had to be, the betrayal, the trial, the beatings and floggings, carrying His own instrument of death, and finally, hours of suffering, nailed up on the cross. Nails driven through both His hands and feet. With bones broken, organs bruised, blood flowing from countless cuts, He knew what He had been born to do. Not only had He come to give a message to an unlistening world, but also He came to this earth to live and die for all of us.

Just as His last breath left his body, spoke: “Why hast thou forsaken me?” and “Blame them not for what they do for they know not.” His blood flowing to the ground to pay a price so we can seek healing and salvation. With His breath gone, His body moved into a tomb, the darkest hours of Christ’s life was at hand. There was one final task He had to do. The hardest and most challenging task still lay ahead.

Christ had to descend and stay in hell for 72 hours. Alone, cut off from angels, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord Himself. He had to endure 72 hours of torment. What deepest recesses of hell He must have been cast down into. What manner of demons must have been unleashed upon Him? His spiritual body must have been torn to shreds. The devil, Lucifer and Satan only had 72 hours to force Christ into forsaking His power. Understand that Lucifer has access to the heavens. He knew about Revelation and the final conflict to be played out in Armageddon, and he knew that unless he broke Christ, he was going to lose the battle.

Jesus Christ is and was the ultimate Bodhisattva, (the Sanskrit term Bodhi [enlightenment] and sattva [being], meaning someone who releases all sentient beings from suffering). He had to take on all forms of physical illnesses during those hours on the cross. Every infirmity ever known to man, Christ had to endure. So we could be healed. Think of that, will you? Every form of cancer, every infection, virus, and germ released on his body. Every form of mental illness was unleashed on his mind. Each and every major and minor sin He endured. He had to go to hell and suffer the full might of evil for every single person that had been born, for all times, past, present and future. He paid the price for believers and nonbelievers. This is what grants us the grace of salvation for those who seek it. This is what grants us dominion to cast out demons. If Kirby Robinson’s name were used to cast out a demon, the dark forces would laugh, as I have no spiritual authority. But because of the dark hours that Christ spent in hell, He never gave up. He could have, but He didn’t. He knew that if HE could not withstand the onslaught of evil, then who could? Not you, nor I, but only Him.

Why is it that more and more people are trying to take Jesus off the cross and turn His works and teachings into myths and lies? His life was led to the fullest for every single person that has and will ever inhabit this planet. Some have been insinuating that His life was part of some wild conspiracy. He used the cross as a means of escape. He snuck out of Israel and lived under an assumed name in another country. A wise man once said that the smartest thing that the devil ever did was to convince people that he did not exist. I say, the smartest thing the devil ever did is convince people that Christ did not pay the ultimate price. He may sell that bill of goods to others, but not to me. I have Christ in my heart, spirit, and mind. My Christ lived for me, my Christ taught for me, my Christ suffered for me, my Christ died for me, my Christ rose for me, and my Christ will be there always for there for me. Will yours?
