Issue 107 – Is “Ghost Inside My Child” Filled with Lies? [Part 1]

By Kirby Robinson

I had one of the most unfortunate experiences of my life as I watched the pilot episode of Bio Channel’s Ghost Inside My Child. By the time the final credits rolled, I can admit that I finally found a show worse than Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal.

No, Chip Coffey isn’t affiliated with this show, although he would have enjoyed being a part of this exploitative mess, if only to get a paycheck. As with his former show, on Ghost Inside My Child, the fame hungry parents/grandparents are allowed to hog air time by exploiting kids. The parallels between the two shows include: false claims, deceptive story editing, and the truth of God’s message is left in the ditch.

Also like Psychic Kids, the 1-hour program features three families, each one parading their offspring who have made claims that they’ve been reincarnated and remember details of a past life.

One case featured a boy whose last life took place during WWII where he was a fighter pilot who was shot down over the Pacific. That means the person floated around the spirit realm for over 50 years awaiting a body.

What these types of shows count on is that:

1 People know nothing about these subjects.

2 People are so soggy-brained that what they think is the truth is actually bad new age teachings/false teachings.

3 People don’t even bother to use their intelligence--they buy what they see on a “reality” TV show as being true.

4 Everybody needs to be special and be on TV. They don’t mind seeing a child exploited for fame and profit.

I predicted in an earlier column this is the kind of thing  the show will produce  in the pilot alone  that these so-called reincarnates would have to have some kind of claim to fame. Here, we don’t get tales of a simple farmer in Nebraska who lived from 1908 to 1989.

1 James was fighter pilot who died in battle.

2 Cade was one of the victims in the Twin Towers on 9/11.

3 Carson was a victim in the Oklahoma City bombing.

What’s next? Featured kids will claim:

1 I was Caylee Anthony and yes, Casey did kill me
2 I was James Earl Ray and no, I didn’t shoot Martin Luther King.
3 I was J. Edgar Hoover and no, I didn’t wear a dress.

That is how this show would sell itself. Every week you’ll see stardom-starved families making totally false and outlandish claims. Just like Psychic Kids, this show is filled with fakery. They fail to tell the whole story about the families featured in the show. Either they have an agenda to make money off the claims or there are reasons that are more sinister.

The program is produced by Joke Productions [no this is not a joke]. Here’s a link to their site:

The producers linked to the show are: Suzanne Stratford: http://fox8.com/author/suzannestratford/page/2/

Peter Spoerri:

If you watch the end credits for this piece of exploitive crap, you’ll notice that it was done without any expert input. What they are trying to sell the public isn’t real for the most part. Any aspects that are real aren’t well presented.

Let’s take a look at a few of them:

The show’s title: Ghost Inside My Child. Such a title might be somewhat appropriate for children haunted by evil spirits or demons. But when it comes to a show on the issue of reincarnation, it has no business being used. Ghosts have nothing to do with the process whatsoever.

Those who think that no religion ever existed until the new age came along and distorted the concept are being misled. What many fail to understand is that the Buddhist faith does not teach the standard reincarnation, but what is called rebirth. Here is an article that gives you everything you need to know about the differences: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reincarnation

The false reincarnation that the new age teaches is that you keep coming back as a human being. This is NOT TRUE. The reason why it’s called a precious human rebirth is that one can study the dharma [teachings of Buddha] and attain enlightenment. If they practice another form of Buddhism, they seek enlightenment for themselves as well as for all sentient beings. Buddhists point out you can come back as a hungry ghost, an insect, a cow, or a human being.

I can’t wait for the scene when a child says “Mom, I remember being Lassie and licking my ass and having fun with the French poodle next door.”

If you are a Christian, you don’t believe in either reincarnation or rebirth. Christ never taught on the subject nor can you find it in the Bible. What is frequently misquoted is the Book of John, chapter 3, verse 3: “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

Chip Coffey and his fellow new agers paraphrase that line with something about no one can access the father unless they are born again. Nope, it doesn’t work.

Here is a great post on the entire subject from a Christian perspective:

Next week we really expose some sick lies and deceptions on the show.

It's unfortunate that you can't let others have the freedom to say what they know to be the truth. I am a Christian. And I have never believed in reincarnation. But I don't dismiss this as being a lie. These children are clearly effected by this. And I know as a mom myself. I wouldn't want to have to deal with something so traumatic. To not know why something like that would be happening. And seeing your child suffer horrific memories of past disasters. These parents are not using their children for fame. They are sharing their experience. To maybe help others that are experiencing the same thing. There is nothing demonic or evil about it.

Anonymous said...

I like the last post (August 13 at 12:35am) You are a good person. You're right not to judge. I didn't dismiss it as 'lies' either.
There is so much that we don't know. It's better to KNOW that we don't know everything. Try to understand our kids rather than dismiss them and tell them to "Stop making up lies!".
I don't have a dramatic story, but I had 3 sons. Two of them were really gifted in unique ways. But my youngest son would frequently talk about his "daughter" when he was only 3-5 years old.
I don't live near any little girls, and I only had boys. It made me wonder, that's for sure!

If Carson can remember Dana. & her son Chrisopher and Miss Wanda who was the cook of the Murray day care center then this is all true. Kirby Robinson, I have never heard a more emotionally unbalanced response to a television show. Thank you for reminding me why I don't cruise the internet. You are a hypocritical and jealous sycophant.

thank you for that am happy that we helped make your day

Lori, there is a Facebook page for the show Ghost Inside My Child. You should be able to send your message to the producers of the show.

I can completely see the skeptical point of view of this show... I have watched the 4th episodes that have aired and questioned the reasoning behind some of the families. It is all hard to believe unless you have had your own child tell you memories. I've never once even seriously considered reincarnation until my youngest of 4 children started talking about being bigger and dying when she was just 2 years old. I asked all my friends whether any of their kids had talked about being bigger. It is really a shocking thing to hear from your child while at the same time having an overwhelming feeling what they are saying is true. Do I believe in reincarnation? Honestly I am still on the fence. Do I believe there's a definite connection for these children and another person's life? Definitely yes. I am sure you will take me over the coals but the producers of this show contacted me after I made a comment on Facebook. After months of contemplating I agreed to do the show and have my 6 year old daughter's story be told. It's not for fame or anything else... I don't even want to be on TV let alone have us exposed to cynicism and cruel remarks. The ONLY reason I agreed to do it was to help other parents. When your child says these things you feel completely at a loss as to what to say or do and in this day in age after turning to friends you turn to the internet. Most of what I read freaked me out more... it was NOT comforting. But when I watched one of the shows I identified with the mom Erika whose young son Luke remembered jumping out if a window because of fire. Listening to her and to Luke helped my family and my daughter come to terms with what she was remembering. I ended up talking to Erika for 2 hours before I agreed to do the show. My only hope is that my daughter's story helps another family. I am not doing this to further promote reincarnation or anything else... I am doing it to say this does happen, some children really do remember things from the past, are they reincarnated - that I don't know, and most importantly to give another family some comfort that they aren't alone. I am Christian so I have prayed about this extensively. It's been a difficult decision to say the least.

eyeontheparanormal said...

how sad making money off your child cashing in like a syage mom or in this case a staged mom

Cindy said...

Thank you for your judgmental reply! It's much appreciated.

There's no money, gifts, etc involved. No one gets paid to be on the show. If they were going to pay our family I wouldn't have agreed to do it.

Again, I can completely see some of your views as I am a very skeptical person myself. I was just trying to present an honest view from a parent who has been through this. Thank you for your time.

Also thank you for adhering to your own rules... you are obviously respectful of others when they try to be respectful of you.

I have read the Bible. I believe in Jesus and Heaven & Hell. I have talked to a pastor friend. Have I once stated that I believe in reincarnation? No, I am still questioning all of it. I do believe there is some connection though and some children have these types of memories. No idea why or what the connection is. I have no interest in furthering or promoting reincarnation. Just in giving some comfort to other parents.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the little boys story Heaven is for Real... my daughter has said things about about Heaven, meeting God, and knowing Jesus... this was when she was 2 years old.

It seems that Jesus and the disciples did believe in reincarnation. When the early christians threw out all the texts from the gospels that didnt match the way they had decided the christian message should be they overlooked the text about the blind man. who sinned him or his parents that he was born blind. he had to have lived before to have sinned so that means reincarnation. what else could it be

Anonymous said...

Who are any of you to say you hack sit about reincarnation? All of you and me know as much about reincarnation as we do about god, So take your feet and insert them into your ignorant mouth.

Anonymous said...

What an article. You personally insult someone who commented on your post. You are by far the most disrespectful "bloggers" ever seen!

Anonymous said...

That you don't believe in something does not mean it does not exist. Many sceptics can tear down the bible in two seconds but that doesn't make it real or fake. There are places in the bible that can be quoted to support anything you believe in. Saul heard Christ on the road to Damascus, Mary Magdalene and other disciples saw Christ after he had died on the cross which would make him a ghost. On the mountain the disciples saw Christ standing with the spirit of Elijah and moses. According to the bible Elijah is John the baptist. You can scream and shout and have a blog to try to convince others to believe in what you believe doesn't mean that you are right. Everyone will come to believe in their own truth as they go through life and have their own ' personal experiences'

Anonymous said...

Nobody knows what happens when you die! Who are you to say your beliefs are true.

Anonymous said...

I am the unnamed mom who helped Cade discover his name from his past life when he died on 9/11. I came across his mother elsewhere on the internet and decided to try to help. I have no connection to Cade or any member of his family. I am not a part of the show and I received nothing for the work that I did for him. I expected nothing. I did it to help a child who was suffering.

I took the information that Cade gave his mother and worked through the list of victims, working one clue at a time. Once I narrowed it down I researched several families and found the one victim whose life matched all of Cade's clues.

That person is no one famous, it is not a name many knew until he became a victim and Cade's family had chosen not to give out the name out of respect for that family.

The show is real and so are their memories. There is no way he could have known anything about that person unless it is true.

Just because you have not experienced what we have doesn't mean we are wrong. It just isn't your time to experience it yet.

Anonymous said...

So far Kirby darling you haven't proved the children's reincarnation program is fake, where is your proof? Show it to us all wise person. Don't put others down with no proof just because you got a bum deal in life. That gives you no right to say someone is faking a show.

I personally find it rather bizarre when the believers in one completely unproven mythology attack the believers of another for being gullible nonthinkers. Really? You've accepted one set of unverifiable beliefs; other people accept different ones. None of you can provide scientific evidence. I'm not saying you have to; there are clearly 'more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophies.' And I realize that the show, like almost all television shows, is a bunch of crap. But I simply do not see anything remotely logical or sensible about subscribing to one set of unprovable beliefs and displaying contempt for and being entirely dismissive of another one held by millions of people.

“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”

My child, at age ten, asked to be taken to a part of town she had never been to before, and a part of town I had only ever visited once or maybe twice.

She told me in detail who lived in the homes, their occupations and personal information about them.

These people lived and died over 100 years ago.

And, all of the names, addresses and professions matched the information from city directories of the era.

This was in the early days of computers, back when there maybe a couple thousand web pages.

I attack no one for their beliefs and try to be open to what others have to say. I find that by not attacking we can all learn something ...

May I suggest you concentrate more on finding peace in what you believe? Moreso, practicing tolerability of those with other beliefs?
Find your peace, sir.

As Christians we know that it's appointed unto man once to die and then the judgement. These mamas and daddy's are needing 5 minutes of fame. It's so sad that these children are being exploited for a few bucks and a little tv time.

Unknown said...

If you ask me, what happens in your afterlife depends on your official religion. For example, if you like to follow Hindi religion, you can go all "Hello, new life!" But if you're Christian, you're all like "I must not waste this life." It's all dependent on which religion you are devoted to.

Anonymous said...

Believe it or not, I'm Christian and I believe 100% in reincarnation. Just so I can get reincarnated. Eat my spiritual dust, suckers. Heh. Heh. Heh.

I question the existence of everything and do not dismiss anything. If I did I would commit intellectual suicide. If some parents are using there kids for fame with a fake or a real story, shame on them. If they are reaching out for help maybe something different. If this is a real thing, I wonder how many kids never do get help? Scary to think about.

Ghost in my child is nothing but a bunch of bullshit idc what anyone says.....and people who claim to be Christian but say they believe in reincarnation are obviously not Christians cause they don't believe in that that's basically calling God a liar cause God says there's heaven, hell, and purgatory not another life...God wouldn't lie...sooo yeah...and I could care less if anyone has something negative to say to me I believe God not you I'm 18 and have more sense than most of the people on here

Anonymous said...

To say that Christians do not believe in reincarnation, that might be true today, but the early Christians, the Gnostics, did indeed believe in it, and some of the Apocrypha refers to that belief. The decision to ban the belief was orchestrated by the Roman Catholic Church, with the thinking that if worshipers were given the hope of redemption through reincarnation, i.e. a second chance, they would not be willing to do penance in this life.

Anonymous said...

I'm a catholic I've seen the show ghost inside my child I honestly don't believe these children are reincarnated now I'm not saying their memories aren't real memories...but if you read the bible it warns about familiar spirits which is a demon that can pretend to be a spirit of a Dead loved one or just the spirit of a dead person in general they can possess people this is the same thing these children are remembering things that seem to be real people and events that took place and noway these kids could have known this stuff so its the work of familiar spirits ( demons)now I know some of you may not agree with me but that's the catholic response to this I hope the families having these problems find comfort and help....God bless

The Apostles confronted Jesus, And and said that Elias would prepare the way for the coming of the Mosiah, And Jesus replied and said , He has come already, And they have done to him what they will do to me. John The Baptist is the who prepaed the way, THis to me says that John was the reinarnation of Elias. This is one of the few examples in the scripture that indicates that reincarnation does happen.
The Book of Thomas, NOT in the Bible, makes a comment about those who don't measure up to the kingdom of God get to come back and try again.
After all we are spirit, If we were judged on the first try on earth none of us would make it. Christ died for sins, However it makes since to keep us here until we over come our short falls, And quit doing evil, And perfect out souls, He died for our sins but if we keep at them, do we deserve to enter into the glory of GOD?. If we haven't changesd our ways?, Yes Jeseus says we'll be made perfect, But he also says if we die in our sins we'll be resurrected in our sins. I would prefer to live again and get my soul perfected here on earth over being resurrected as a sinful person. Ther our verses in the scripture that do conflict, If we are forgiven of our sins, then explain the verse that says we'll be resurrected in our sins.! Do you beleive that if we don't get the gospel in this life we are doomed to damnation for ever?. Mormons beleive in the baptism for the dead by proxy, Which flies in the face of all other christians. Why then does the other 50% of the world still beleive in reincarnation. Part the reason our world is in turmoil, Is because people are unwilling to bend a little and take a look at another persons views and why they beleive the way they do. The catholic church has sent more people to their death than any other organization on the planet.!Think about that!. And how far back do they go with this idology. My way or the hiway The Bible is not in built in cronologlical order either.

Also, your cashing on asking people if they want to date hot Philippine women online is a bit, disrespectful. But I guess those iDateAsia.com dollars don't have any demons attached to them at all, do they because what you're doing is right and just.

Text 1:
It is incredible how narrow minded so many people are in the name of "Religion". My first son(almost 30 now), woke up extremely upset one night when he was about 18 or 19 months old. While I was trying to comfort him, all he wanted was his other mother, not me. He spoke his first word at 4 month could hold a conversation with adults at 1 and by the time he was 2, he would translate German to English/ English to German for others. That night he did calm down and went back to sleep, but there had been numerous times as he was growing up when he told me that he had no hugs for me because he was saving them for his "other" mother and so on. My second son was terrified of tsunamis growing up. The last time that he asked to reassure himself that a Tsunami couldn't reach 'us here' was when he was 14 years old and we lived in the Mountains in New South Wales in Australia. He has seen spirits for most of his life and talked about seeing them, even being 'freaked out' by them after each and every encounter. (Not once did I tell him to snap out of it, or some other nonsense adults usually say to their children when they themselves have not got a clue. We discussed these events as they occurred and did not dismiss them). At almost 28 he claims not to believe in ghosts, UFOs or any number of weird and strange things, but he still remembers some encounters. Conclusion: The reason some young kids "remember" and others do not is very simple. The ones that speak early can talk about it and the ones that speak later do not. Yes, it really is that simple. My older son was a walking talking dictionary at 5 (he taught himself to read and write by age 3 and was tying his shoe laces at about the same time). He talked about his memories from "before".

Anonymous said...

Text 2: My younger son would say gobbledygook and his brother would tell us what he wanted. This form of communication continued until the younger one was nearly 3 and started to make sense. He did not talk about a previous life, but instead he experienced other supernatural events long after his brother had forgotten about the last life, something most kids will do naturally by about the age of 4 when other things become more important for them and then you get those kids who for whatever reason, can not let go. These are the kids that you naysayers should have compassion and yes, also have pity for. Have you, the religious know-it-all, "experts" on what is and what isn't real, never once wondered who your little angels actually talk to and play with, when they tell you about their imaginary friends? Or how your "gifted" little darling sits at a piano and simply knows how to play, or why some kid can recite the Alphabet backwards or how some kid is an absolute genius at maths by the age of 3, or what about the 4 year old Chess protege? I could go on, by you get the idea I am sure. These kids STILL REMEMBER people. And those kids who never say or see anything mostly because they are scared, well they grow up to be narrow minded people such as a lot of people on this site for instance. So pull your head in and do not force your views and stunted beliefs on to the rest of us and remember that the next time your little darling does something extraordinary, way earlier than Jack and Jill over the hill and you praise them for it, ask yourself where they picked up this incredible new skill. No doubt you will not want to know the answer, but hey... they still REMEMBER.
So now you can all go ahead and pour your evil comments out about my post. I will not be drawn back into this conversation, I just thought I aught to throw in my two cents worth. I will however check from time to time to see if everything I have said her, will now actually makes some sense at least where your children are concerned. The rest? I suppose if all else fails, you could try discipline and routine. Because remembering you were an absolute B%*#@!d in your previous life, does not give you the right or the entitlement to be one this time around as well.

Hi all, I just started watching this show here in the UK, October 2015. I'm watching episode 2 of season 1, I noticed the Mother of Elijah (Leitreanna) and Father( Matthew, the war veteran) have both been on another paranormal show about hauntings! I'm thinking in this case these could be actors used in place of the real parents as I know some identities are hidden for the privacy of the families. Is anyone else aware of the episode and couple I refer? It did make me somewhat suspicious of the validity of this show as if they are supposedly the real parents (it didn't state that actors were used in this case) then why were they in another paranormal tv show? ( can't remember which one unfortunately, anyone else know?) I am interested in the concept of reincarnation, as I had the same thing occur with my son at two years old, he would tell me things of him being here before and like many of these children was very advanced in his development and intelligence from a very young age. I myself have early memories of coming from somewhere else and telling my parents about this...I'm curious to ascertain which show I have seen the two people I refer. Thanks for any input of a positive nature and please let's remain kind to one another thanks, in peace Shaishannah :-)

Ok, I just found out that Leitreanna and Matthew Brown are indeed Elijahs real parents and they were on Paranormal Witness speaking of other paranormal experiences they have had. Mystery solved in my mind. And why not share these experiences and educate people of what goes on.

The worst part is some of these people have gone so far as to contact the families of 9/11 victims with their claims. It's sickening. They have no right, and it's obvious the kids are paranoid and scared. If their parents have been feeding them lies for years then they honestly believe those lies.
