Red Flags and the Sixth Sense

By Bridgette O’Hare

Matthew 7:15, Jesus tells us "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."

Intuition.  Instincts.  Perception.  Insight.  Sensitivity.

Or maybe you like to refer to them as “Red Flags.”

Yes, they are metaphorical.  But we have all “seen” them flying high at some time or another.  I was browsing the internet just this afternoon when a parade of red flags began waving across my computer screen.  I won’t mention the exact name of the site because I haven’t had the chance to research it.  My instinct, however, is to not trust a site to be grounded in God’s inerrant Word that combines the term “Christian” with “Spiritualism” and contains a “Zodiac Messages” page.

Websites aren’t the only place these red flags are flying.  They are soaring all around us every day.  I’ve read articles by Christians and Pastors alike claiming the name of Jesus only to unnervingly lead into their “enlightened” teaching concerning Jesus, sin, and the unseen powers that surround us every day.  I’ve been discovering this at a disturbing rate among “Christian” Demonologists that I have encountered lately in my research.  If you are claiming to be a Christian Demonologist and claiming that there are spirits roaming this Earth that are not demons...then your self-proclaimed title itself is no more than an oxymoron.  I, for one, am sick of the lying heretics who have embraced their New Age brand of self-serving Christianity.  My instincts shift into overdrive at the first mention of ghosts and earthbound spirits and I trust my instincts...my Sixth Sense.

This Sixth Sense is a God given gift because I know that I know that I know I am covered in the holy blood that Jesus willingly offered for me on Calvary.  It’s real.  Every believer who is truly born into the family of God has it and should be using it and trusting it.  As true Christians we are expected to be on watch for false prophets.  John warned us of these counterfeit Christians in I John.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see if they are of God, since many false prophets have gone out into the world.” ~ 1 John 4:1

One of the aspects he points out again and again states that these fake Christians don’t have a true knowledge of Jesus.  A true knowledge knows that God’s infallible Word renounces the existence of earthbound spirits.  Demons have a true knowledge of God’s Word.  (James 2:19, Luke 4:41)  They’ve been exposed to it first hand and they use it in every way they can to deceive humankind.  God gave us this spiritual gift of a Sixth Sense to use in awareness of their deceit.

I’ve noticed though, that so many people misconstrue the spiritual gifts God offers to his children.  Please understand, we are all gifted in some way.  However, we don’t choose our gifts and often times we tend to claim gifts that are not truly ours to claim.  This has become more apparent to me recently as I have become increasingly involved in my research into the supernatural realm.  It seems that as a society we are so fascinated by the paranormal many of us want to declare some deeper association with it.  What isn’t often considered, and is seldom recognized, is the danger that is connected with declaring such an association.  False spirits manifesting through false gifts give their users a false sense of reality.  A false sense of what your gifts really are can create an open door for demonic activity in your life.  As I mentioned before, demons perform effortlessly in the realm of deceit.  When you open a door, they will not just walk through it; they will run like there’s no tomorrow!  Claiming a gift that is directly related to demonic activity is just like sending a demon a balloon filled invitation to join the party.  If you weren’t on their radar before, you quickly become a bright, blinking dot on their monitor.  Suddenly, you are experiencing “symptoms” that you want to believe are related to recognizing demonic activity when what you are truly experiencing are the symptoms of demonic attachment.

Being able to distinguish a true spiritual gift from a false one is tricky when you want to believe you are gifted with sensitivity to the supernatural realm.  There are ways to determine if you truly have a gift for discerning activity, but first let’s differentiate between the two.  Spiritual discernment or wisdom regarding spiritual matters is not the same as discerning actual and literal demonic activity.  Spiritual discernment is sound judgment but sensitivity is the ability to detect actual demons, their disposition and temperament.

Before a person with the gift of sensitivity begins to identify the forces of evil, they will first see the positive side of their gift.  It brings them closer to the Holy Spirit and they will see His hand at work where others are unaware, because the working of spiritual gifts is first and foremost the work of the Holy Spirit.  A true gift will be able to determine what is contrary to the Holy Spirit. The light of the Holy Spirit reveals the darkness of Satan...not the other way around.

It’s undeniable that false supernatural experiences are engineered by demonic design in order to confuse and bewilder.  Therefore the gift is used to determine what is false.  It would make sense that if someone can discern demonic activity, they also would be aware of angelic activity.  The reality that needs to be considered in all cases is that false teaching is used by Satan to divert people from the truth.  Considering that, a true gift would likely have access to activity from both sides of the supernatural realm.

Above everything, spiritual reality is needed in the real fight against Satan’s kingdom.  All gifts from God are aspects of the grace of Christ and His power.  You see yourself as a frontline warrior involved in a great spiritual warfare and enlightened and equipped by the Holy Spirit while others are sleeping in a spiritual stupor.  And while we are all warriors in the spiritual warfare that surrounds us, we aren’t all equipped to be on the front lines.

Cleansings—Personal Deliverance Ministry Standards of Conduct

By Stephen Piersall, Deliverance Ministry Consultant, Central New York

When you open your door to have a Priest/Pastor/Demonologist/Deliverance Ministry representative come in to your home you want to make sure they are authentic and you might want to question them to make sure they are right with God and you do not have a Para-Celeb showing up just going through the motions. Much damage can occur because of improper behavior or not being a good representation for God. Since they will be coming to get some background info on yourselves, you should consider the following to make sure your bringing in the right team for the job.

Is this just your typical local ghost investigation team with all kinds of equipment and want to be in your home throughout the night asking, “Is there anyone here tonight?” and will leave you and get back with you in a matter of days or weeks? “DANGER Will Robinson!” You want someone there NOW, to help you through this uncertain time. Will these people maintain strict confidentiality? After all, they will be roaming your home and see things in your home you may not want anyone else to know.

You are granting them permission to come into your home; do you want them to conduct this interview/investigation at night or during the day? Nighttime is Satan’s playtime. In addition, the risk of injury or damage to your personal property can and will happen. BTW since the Demonic are master of disguise’s, they might want to play or most likely sit back and just watch the team and make noises that only the equipment can hear. However, when the team leaves, any demonic presence can and will escalate. Are they leaving your residence and never prayed before, during, and afterwards with you? Was anyone with this team really concerned for you and your family’s well-being and ended the night with some sort of plan for resolution?

These are just a few ideas to keep in mind when you open the idea of investigators coming to your home. Signing a consent form, confidentiality agreement and a Deliverance Background questionnaire is agreeable with me. Nevertheless, more than the paperwork, I would bring my Bible. I would want to talk with you and pray that the Holy Spirit reveal to you any Strongholds (Legal Right) the demonic has over you. Anybody can do a cleansing, but only you can come clean with the sins in your life, ask God for forgiveness, and repent. Sure Satan’s demonic prowess will still tempt you but use the power of God to bind them and cast them out of your life. We will talk next time about strongholds (legal rights) regarding specific sins.

I leave this with you to seek the Lord’s forgiveness and wisdom. Pray every morning to start your day and evening to end your day. Our country needs help and with the elections coming up, pray that the United States of America Blesses God!

The Dead Files--When It Is Too Good To Be True...

By Reverend Mark Hunnemann

Unlike many other TV shows about investigating the supernatural, I have some respect for Amy Allan and Steve DeSchavi on The Dead Files (clever double entendre). He is a former NYPD homicide detective, so he brings investigative competence to these cases. Steve does not ghost-hunt…he investigates. An acquaintance works closely with someone who knows Amy and vouches for her integrity (he is a Christian but was born with same abilities as her). Amy was born with the ability to see the supernatural realm. Yep, that is pretty incredible, huh? I believe she is being honest in the reporting of her perceptions. They are quite an impressive duo. (Matt, the cleaner, is her husband). I am sure some will disagree with me, but this show is the best in its genre—and for that reason, sadly, it is also the worst. Let me explain. But before I do, let me say this: these TV programs have become so common-place that it is easy to become jaded and overlook what a profound effect they are having on our culture, even if we ourselves possibly dismiss them as hagwash. It is our biblical mandate to be aware of how the spirit of the age is effecting our generation and confront it in love. (see Kirby’s excellent books).

There is the well-known saying, “If it’s too good to be true, it probably is”…  unfortunately, it pertains to this show. If you have seen it, then you know Steve and Amy work independently, and come together at the end to reveal and advise the clients. What troubles me is that Amy is amazingly accurate every time…layers of history and specific people/events are corroborated by Steve’s detailed documentation. Their different styles are like mirror opposites.  The producers utilize the technique that flashes back-and-forth between the two; the evidence Steve uncovers is then perfectly mirrored in what Amy sees on her walk-through. For example, the camera shows him uncovering evidence of a father killing himself and his son by running a pipe from the exhaust into the car, in their garage, during the 1960’s. That is immediately followed by a flash of Amy seeing, feeling, and hearing virtually verbatim what Steve had just documented. The result: a very effective deception in making ghosts the only plausible explanation of the facts.

It is stunning to watch, and seemingly irrefutable evidence of the accuracy of her perception of human spirits.. Steve said he had struggled believing in an afterlife due to all the evil he had seen as a homicide detective, but that Amy had given him hope in the afterlife. However, this afterlife is simply contingent upon dying. No judgment or need for religion. Instead of justification by faith alone, it has become justification by death alone—all you have to do is die and you have eternal life. This insidious lie is accelerating millions of dear folks eternal damnation.  Many  are blown away by their incredible collaboration, and find themselves becoming “believers”.  The Morton Report had an interesting interview with the two. Of the 71 comments, only one was negative and the rest were strongly supportive, if not in awe. In other words, this show is extremely persuasive….frightenlngly so. I am astonished at the brilliance of the filthy spirits who choreograph this intricate deception.

The issue is this:  she is not accurately identifying what she perceives. She herself states on every show that ghosts present themselves the way they want to be perceived. If she believes dead people can do that, then why does she not make the angel of light connection? If Satan, the Prince of Darkness, can become the opposite of what he actually is, then appearing as a deceased human would be a snap. Like everyone else on supernatural TV, she has her own form of demonaphobia. To be accurate, it may not be due to actual fear of demons, but for some reason she rarely fingers demons as the culprits. This shows a terrible blind spot or naiveté’ on her part regarding the abilities of the demonic to deceive even her. But since the bible is not her guide, then her autonomous reason is all she has to fall back on—which leaves her unequipped to identify supernatural evil. Only believers can have the true gift of discernment, which distinguishes between holy and unholy spirits.

For honest seekers of truth, the strength of the show should be seen as it’s Achilles heel…she is always incredibly spot-on regarding a mountain of details. I’ve even heard Amy say that, if a medium is always accurate on all the details, then you have to wonder where they are getting their information. Well said but look in the mirror, Amy! In another interview she admitted that she was scared before each reveal, but is then blown away by the extraordinary correlation between her perceptions and Steve’s evidence….seemingly intimating that this show has been unusually accurate for even her. The problem is that both she and the audience are absolutely sold on the demonic deception due to the amazing validation of a boat load of historical detail….too amazing. Put simply, Amy is too good…too accurate—I have watched every episode and she has NEVER made a mistake. (Satan is counting on folks not making the observation and connection). But God has ORDERED us to become aware of how Satan/demons scheme. The sketches of what she sees are always met with a corresponding snapshot Steve dug up, or the clients recognize the sketch as the apparition they have been seeing. Lest I be misunderstood, Steve is equally under demonic influence—making sure he sees the right article or person and so on. If what he discovers in his investigation does not line up with what the demons are presenting to Amy, then the unholy spirits know Satan will hammer them for botching his deception scheme. On the one hand, they are people with integrity, but on the other hand, there has to be a comprehensive network of demons working in concert to make this show work. It is the only satisfactory answer or explanation of the facts.

We need to keep two things in mind regarding demons: their psychic superiority, and expert knowledge of the past. Regarding the past, the demonic have been here for eons and they have encyclopedic knowledge of the past. If Satan didn’t incorporate historical detail, he would be foolish for squandering a golden opportunity to use their skills. In other words, this kind of deception is precisely what one would expect—given what we know about the demonic. Those who believe in ghosts often don’t even think about these issues….many are too obsessed with finding the historical connection in their own cases to reflect and think outside of their matrix-reality box.

If demons are real, then who is going to have mastery over the psychic airwaves? The answer to that question has far reaching consequences. They are spiritual beings, so psychic communication is their mother tongue, and they have been practicing it for a long time. It does not matter how talented Amy is, she cannot hold a candle to the feeblest demon when it comes to psychic communication. They are the masters here…she is but an infant. In the supernatural realm they can communicate messages to her which ostensibly come from deceased humans. She is putty in their hands…especially since she seems to barely recognize their existence and nature. Satan knows these shows are key to his strategy, so he slyly guided the whole process of producing this show. The Evil One has a vested interest in ensuring that The Dead Files is simply amazing…and it is. BUT the sovereign Lord is on His throne!

Christians and Communicating with the Dead (Part 3)

by Lisa Grace

Thank you Reverend Mark that “sleep” did not mean sleep, it meant “dead”. One of the points I’ve emphasized in my posts over the last few months (running every other Thursday) is that you must understand the rabbinical teachings and social customs, and interpret the Greek and Hebrew according to what was known back in Jesus’/Yeshua’s day.

For instance, “it’s raining cats and dogs” doesn’t mean it is literally raining furry pets, but that the drops are coming down fast and hard.

Last week, I didn’t emphasis that “sleep” means dead, which it was understood to mean in Jesus day. Just like we might say someone has “passed away” means “dead”.

Jesus also frequently spoke in parables. When he told the woman at the well that he could give her water so she would never thirst again, He DIDN’T MEAN WATER and He DIDN’T MEAN she could spend the rest of her life not imbibing the wet stuff.

It’s easy for us to understand in this context what he meant, but for some reason, when you start in on the supernatural, what you know goes flying out the window (and I don’t mean literally flying out the window).
Please don’t throw the baby out with the bath water (and I don’t mean to not throw the baby out with the bath water, all though you shouldn’t do that if you are giving a baby a bath.)

Anyway, you see how someone not knowing our culture would think we were saying some bizarre things if WE meant them LITERALLY.

Since when we die, our next aware moment is to be with our Creator in heaven or hell (and we’ll talk about that topic some other time), Jesus couldn’t make his point if he told the literal truth. This was the time for a parable. A parable about suffering, and how our reward/punishment is not on/of this earth and if a man’s heart is hard, nothing will convince him otherwise. The point was not to make to a statement about ghosts. (Jesus mentions the “great divide“, although He doesn’t get into the concept of time not really existing, the supernatural world exists outside of time and what was—is—and always will be— are heavy concepts that again make ghosts impossible, but serve no purpose in this parable hence saying, “great divide” really says it all.) Rewards/punishment are metted out after this earthly life.

Jesus knew ghosts do not exist, only God creates life. Only God can bring a man back. Believing otherwise is a blasphemy against God, (because you are saying if humans can call up the dead, they are doing something only God can do so you are making humans into a god and that is blasphemy) and you are being deceived by demons.

Witches and those that call out to the supernatural are communicating with supernatural creatures not man, and not anything that ever was a man.

You see how easy it is to take things out of context, I hope. Look at all of Jesus’ parables and you will see how they were not meant literally, but as a way to get across a concept. Again, in reviewing part two, you see how easy it is to think I meant “sleep“, when I meant dead as a doornail (all though since doornails were never alive, they can’t be dead, can they?)

In the same way Jesus did not go into a long explanation of the words and terms He was using, because back then this was already understood, unlike now, where we take too much literally without understanding the times and context of what Jesus was really saying. It’s time for me too catch some ZZZZ’s now (and no, I’m not really going to try and grab the last letter from the American alphabet.)

Issue 87 Why Ask Questions If You Don’t Want Answers?

By Kirby Robinson

Have you ever noticed that when someone wants to set you up they'll ask you a question that would take 20 minutes to answer---but they give you 45 seconds to respond? Then they turn around and say you don't know what you're talking about. Also, I still had 18 minutes and 15 seconds worth of information to give. This is a false type of debate, a common practice of those within the new age and shadow Christian haters to use. I've been a victim of it, along with anyone who stands up for GOD'S Word. We are living in the last pages of the New Testament -- take a look at the Book of Jude to finish the ground work for the End Times. Man will claim any religion as from GOD. They'll claim to know him when they don't. They'll say any sin is okay. And what was once GOD'S Word will be turned on its head. Dr. Gene Scott once told me back in the 80's that the church in America had to be destroyed prior to the start of the End Times. Additionally, so did the Bill of Rights -- but that's for a different blog.

IF GOD IS ALL POWERFUL WHY IS THERE EVIL?

People think that’s a stunner. Ask a Christian that and you have them on the ropes. What we were told at new age meetings back in the 80s, it has been far longer than that but it was a popular one in the meetings back then. Now in the age of both pat answers and pat teachings everyone expects a response and a teaching in less the 45 seconds. Unfortunately that isn't always possible.

God created the earth in perfect balance. There was to be no evil, no suffering and no sin. There was to be no:

Birth

Aging

Illness

Death

As GOD had it set up there was to be only Adam and Eve keeping company with GOD and worshiping Him. With Him they never had to suffer. Life was a perfect balance. There was never going to be an afterlife as you have to die to have an afterlife.

Due to the fact of Free Will for all his creations, Lucifer rebelled and was cast out of the heavens and fell to earth. Lucifer hated man and sought to make him suffer as he and his fallen had suffered. He tempted Eve, who in turn tempted Adam, who then suffered the wrath of GOD. This was for the betrayal and for what was unleashed on the earth: the suffering of birth, aging, illness and death as well as condemning His Son [Jesus] to a death sentence. Evil doesn't come from GOD. God doesn't like to see people suffering. Evil is due to the rejection of GOD'S greatness. While this isn't a complete response, it's far more than the new age ambusher wanted to hear.

Let's take a look at some of the questions and comments that took place in the Paranormal Journal chat room:

A person by the name of Spirit Realm IP. I always love it when people hide behind a fake ID when they speak -- it lends so much for the public to find their words to hold seeds the truth.

Spirit claims I'm a liar. Show me and the public what I have lied about. "Spirit Realm" claims to know who is on our staff [interesting how do they think everyone is in this for the money]? Sorry S.R., we do have a full staff of experts who lend a hand when their needs to be one. Why do we not advertise who they are? So their life doesn't get filled with threats, stalkers, haters, and idiots. Because that seems to be what the paranormal entertainment industry attracts. Genuine light workers do it in the shadows. Glory isn't the prize but helping to end suffering is.

S.R. gets their facts wrong as they claim that they spoke to Gary and I was the fool that was going to have my blog removed.

The reality is that this was the blog that was moved:

I removed mine due to a change in heart concerning the case.

Nel Crawford wanted to know how we make money to pay people. Wonder why this was not asked on the air? Mr. or Ms. Crawford must do volunteer work. I never charge for my help. If the client can help with expenses, that's cool. We do have some benefactors that realize the importance of the EYE ON THE PARANORMAL. If I can keep a roof over my head and food in my belly, that's all I need.

Shannon Swift felt that I was jealous of the others. I've heard this more than once! She implies  that I want what fake para-celebs have, and wish to be in their place, do as they do, be rewarded here on earth for their actions and suffer the same fates they face after they cross over and face the final judgment. I value my relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. To enjoy temporary happiness here and now usually means facing lifetimes of suffering in the afterlife. That's not the path I choose at all.

Connie Dyment apparently has ties to a show called Zero Gravity Paranormal which appears to have drinking the psychic/paranormal investigator Kool-Aid. Ms. Dyment added a great insight by calling me an asshat, and that they were making me stumble. Clearly, I'm still standing ever stronger in my faith and the determination of my convictions. I invite Ms. Dyment to a public debate on the issues on a neutral show if she so desires. The first question should be just what the heck is an asshat?

Mary Magdalene claims she didn't get a response from me which is not true. She got a response; it just wasn't the one she wanted. She also feels that by placing my name on SHADES OF LIGHT, SHADES OF DARKNESS and donating profits to charity isn't being charitable enough.

So to use her logic all the celebrities [which I'm not] who donate their time and money should do it and not mention their names on books they write and give the funds away.

I wonder [I asked this last week] did the producers of Ghost Adventures, the team and the production staff donate all their profits from the show? Should Ghost Adventures not run any opening/closing credits? I think the only people that didn't make money off the episode was Gary Galka as he refused to take a dime for the episode.

This week we'll close with the story from Matthew concerning the night Christ walked on water [a feeble attempt to prove ghosts are real].

Now let's tell a modern story!

Two boys in a dark room hear bumps in the night

One boy asks what is it?

2nd boy says It's a 3-headed boogieman.

Just because someone says it might be a ghost or think it is doesn't make it so.

Nice try but no points …

Next week--We deal with para-celebs behaving badly and produce more responses to the questions from the Paranormal Journal chat room.

Accept Buddha's Teaching Only After Proper Analysis

His Holiness the Dalai Lama has returned to Dharamsala from Ladakh after giving a teaching to local Buddhists on the fundamental precepts and philosophical underpinnings of all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism. He said: ‘'the four traditional schools of Buddhism in Tibet may superficially seem to differ in the way they explain the [Buddhist] view, but ultimately what they refer to is the same [thing]''.

The Tibetan spiritual leader spent four days in Ladakh, a region in Northern India sometime called ‘little Tibet' due to its strong linguistic, cultural and religious ties with Tibet, and, as he has does many times in the past, His Holiness stressed the importance of the authenticity of Buddhist teachings, and being true to the historical Buddha's words.

He stressed, "In fact the Buddha counseled his followers to examine what he taught and to adopt it only if they felt it was worthwhile, not simply out of respect for him''.

On the second day of the teachings His Holiness talked of Dolgyal (or Shugden). He said that he stopped propitiating the spirit many years ago after extensive investigations had revealed it was improper to do so.

His Holiness encapsulated his thinking on the subject of Dolgyal by saying, "anyone who has kept up the practice of Dolgyal out of ignorance should not have any fear about giving it up if they heed his advice.

On the other hand, he said, whatever fierce spirit you choose is up to you, all His Holiness asks is that such persons do not take vows or empowerments from him.''

Turning to other themes, he reiterated his long standing conviction that Buddhism must not just rely on tradition and handed down conventions based on out dated thinking. For example, in reply to some Korean Buddhists a few years His Holiness said, ‘'that he didn't think the Buddha appeared in the world to give cosmic measurements, but to show the way to liberation from cyclic existence''.

Moreover, the pertinent point he made was that if you take refuge in the three Jewels of Buddhism-The Buddha, Sangha and Dharma- it is because you have consciously tried to "overcome all faults and [ripen] all qualities''.

Cultivating Compassion

On the third day, in order to cultivate compassion, and altruism, His Holiness said that an altruistic attitude-to all living beings-is essential if we wish to achieve Buddhahood. His Holiness went through important Buddhist initiations with the congregation for instance the ‘rite to aspire to develop Boddhichitta'. Boddhichitta: meaning the awakened mind that strives for compassion and solidarity with all humans and all other sentient beings.

On the fourth and final day His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave the long life empowerment associated with White Tara (a female deity in Tibetan Buddhism), and symbolically, she is regarded as the feminine aspect of Avalokitesvara.

Amongst other things, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama went onto discuss the importance of religious tolerance in all parts of the world-not least within the different Tibetan Buddhist traditions and his hope that current tolerance would prevail everywhere.

Finally, His Holiness thanked the congregation and the organizers for making his visit a successful one. His Holiness then conferred the long life empowerment of White Tara and subsequent prayers were conducted in relation to White Tara for his long life. At one point in proceedings, after the sun had come out, he stopped to remark:

"The 13th Dalai Lama was once giving a teaching at Norbulingka on a very hot day and there are reports that you could tell who had attended them by their sunburnt faces. It looks like it'll be the same today."
