Former GHI Case Manager and Investigator Brandy Green Speaks Out About Life After Para-TV

By Michael O'Brien

Interviewer: Michael O’Brien
Special Contributor: Aanica

Brandy Green was born in Edina, Minnesota in 1984 and has one younger sister. Brandy studied psychology (with emphasis in death and dying) and anthropology in college and she has recently returned to school to study secondary education with a focus in History. Her interest in the paranormal stemmed from childhood experiences at both of her grandmother's homes. It was these experiences that drove Brandy to investigate the possibility of life postmortem. Ms. Green's interests never rested solely in the "spirit" realm; they envelope crypto zoology, ufology, anthropology, and how psychology plays a role in all of the above fields.
Brandy was born with a cleft palate and underwent numerous reconstructive surgeries during infancy and early childhood. She has been very outspoken with regard to supporting the Cleft Palate Foundation, Ronald McDonald Charity, the American Cancer Society, the Minnesota AIDS Project, Give a Damn Campaign, Animal Rights through PETA and the WSPA and numerous other organizations.
Brandy Green began traveling the world with the show "Ghost Hunters International" on the SyFy Channel beginning early in 2008. She has investigated the paranormal in over 40 different countries in all but one continent and has worked with GHI for three seasons as the Case Manager and Investigator. She prides herself in knowing that she is one of the few "Para-celebs" that has stayed true to the field and has successfully represented other strong women who are involved in paranormal research.
(MO) Where were you born and/or raised?
(BG) I was born and raised in Minnesota but spent some time when I was younger in New York City where I have family.
(MO) What were your interests as a child?
(BG) I had a lot of interests growing up, many of which I still have. Anthropology and the arts.
(MO) Were you like most children your age growing up?
(BG) Nope. haha! I was more of a loner. I grew up mostly in Eden Prairie, Minnesota which is an incredibly wealthy suburb where a lot of the Vikings football players used to live [and may still live] and my family wasn't rich. I had grown up going to Broadway shows and watching history specials on TV, which were definitely not the activities taken up by my Eden Prairie peers.
(MO) At what age did you realize you had a curiosity about the paranormal?
(BG) My aunts and my mother were all into the "paranormal thing" while I was growing up, so I was exposed to the Ouija board thing and the "haunts" of my cousin's grandparent's house. When I was really young, I don't know the exact age, I experienced strange things at both of my grandmother's homes. My uninformed mind at the time misinterpreted natural occurrences like floor boards creaking from settling and expansion and contraction, but back then I had assumed they were sounds of phantom footsteps. There were many things like that. Throughout the years, I've studied [a lot, like a nerd] photography, psychology, biology, environmental sciences, religion, history, and cultural anthropology. The knowledge that I've gained throughout the years in formal and informal settings have certainly created a more skeptical mind when it comes to the "paranormal".
(MO) Do you have any siblings? If so, how do they feel about your GHI investigative career or celebrity?
(BG) I have a younger sister. She's been pretty much unfazed when it comes to me having been on television. Now that I'm no longer apart of the franchise, and knowing that I do not support the direction that the show has gone, she'll often text me just to let me know when a marathon is running. She thinks it's funny because I usually respond with a diluted "yay".
(MO) Did your sister experience any paranormal activity as a child as well? If so, does she share in your paranormal curiosities?
(BG) My sister shared in one experience at my father's mother's house years back, an experience that I have come to find alternative explanations for since then. She isn't incredibly interested in the "paranormal". She's been a couple investigations here in Minnesota with me and I think she is on the fence about it all just as I am.
(MO) Did your grandmother ever validate your paranormal experiences?
(BG) My grandmothers both have told me that they've experienced strange things, but my grandmother on my mom's side doesn't believe in "messing around with that stuff".
(MO) How do your parents / grandparents feel about your adult paranormal investigative career or celebrity?
(BG) My parents were happy that I was able to travel and see the world and they of course watched the show while I was on it, but if I had not been on the show, they wouldn't have watched the program. My mother hated me travelling all of the time. She has separation anxiety and was a nervous wreck every time I left the country. Hell, she's still a nervous wreck anytime I go anywhere. haha My dad's mother watched the show while I was on it as well, but the rest of the family didn't really watch. Honestly, me being on an international show didn't really phase my family that much. It wasn't like I was hooking up with celebrities and getting calls from Spielberg. haha Para-celebs are not really true celebrity. They are just television personalities in my opinion. I certainly don't see myself as a celebrity, just that I was fairly well known within the SyFy community for a while.
(MO) How did you deal with your own GHI celebrity at the onset?
(BG) Again, I don't really believe that I ever had "celebrity" status, but it was quite strange being recognized by complete strangers in the middle of Target or at the Mall of America or on the streets of London. I always had the immediate, 'how do you know my name!?' freak out because I would often forget that I was on an international television show.
(MO) As an infant and young child you underwent numerous reconstructive surgeries on your palate. Did any of these traumatic procedures add to your postmortem curiosities or perhaps coincide with the paranormal activities you witnessed at your grandmothers homes?
(BG) I don't believe so.
(MO) You have been an outspoken activist for numerous 501(c) (3) charitable organizations throughout the US. Are your philanthropic efforts a direct result of your early childhood traumas or experiences?
(BG) I do support a number of agencies and organizations throughout the world. I have always wanted to be in a position where that was possible and I've been lucky enough to be able to voice my opinions and make differences on small levels. I think that certainly having some of the experiences that I had growing up in terms of being teased because of the way I talk or seeing others being bullied because of their sexuality, it all shaped who I am today.
(MO) You are also a strong supporter of PETA. How do you feel about GH incorporating Maddie (the canine) into the GH series? Would you adhere to that command if GHI or SyFy introduced a canine companion while you were investigating?
(BG) When I was on Ghost Hunters International, we utilized dogs for certain cases. The idea is that animals are more sensitive to changes in energy, which could then be related to finding "ghosts" [assuming that such a thing even exists]. Some people also believe that they can actually see "ghosts" as well. Animals have been used for this purpose for a long time and there are stories that go back thousands of years from all over the world that involve horses rearing and dogs acting strange or becoming mad in the presence of "ghosts". Now, for me personally, I am inclined to believe that this is a result of changes in the environment and not the actual presence of supernatural beings. The cases that I've worked with dogs have resulted in power cords dripping with dog pee and dog hair all over the place with little, if anything else.
(MO) With your collective experience and education are you prepared to state with any confidence that you believe there is life postmortem?
(BG) In my personal opinion based on ALL of the cases that I've done, all of the places throughout the world that I've been and my educational background, I am inclined to say that the "paranormal" is completely explainable with proper educated analysis involving subjects in environmental sciences, physics, biology, psychology, etc.
(MO) You were told at one time while with GHI you were, “too much of a skeptic.” Who told you this and did you receive this observation as more of an insult or compliment?
(BG) I was told that I was too skeptical by numerous people both in front and behind the camera. They were irritated, which is why they said it. The truth is, it wasn't like they were informing me of something that I wasn't already aware of. haha! I think that the biggest insult for me was the way I was edited on the show.
(MO) Do you believe anyone can be too much of a skeptic regarding the paranormal field?
(BG) I think that personal bias is a problem for both sides and in any type of "research". I do believe; however, that being a hardened skeptic is important with regard to the "paranormal field". I see 98% of this "field" being comprised of whole hearted believers who simply say that they are skeptics in order to look more professional. I've seen many of these individuals and groups in action and can say for a fact that they are NOT skeptical. Every knock and bang is a response to one of their EVP questions or any cold draft is a ghost [forget about heating and cooling systems, proximity to windows, doors, ventilation systems, etc.]. They are the same groups that use things like the Ovilus or Frank's Box. There are a lot of naysayers out there, but I don't care. The fact is, the majority of the "paranormal community” has no idea what they're doing. They base what they know off of a couple shows they watch. Many are ignorant too much of it. When I say ignorant, I don't mean to say that they are stupid or have no education whatsoever. I am referring to the lack of knowledge in specific fields like those that I mentioned above [physics, environmental sciences, AV, psychology, biology, etc.]. There are "ghost hunters" and then there are "paranormal researchers". In my opinion, they are two different things and unfortunately, the latter seems to be almost completely unrecognizable--and not in a good way.
(MO) May I inquire as to your theological beliefs?
(BG) I am an agnostic. I've formally studied world religions and while they are comprised of entertaining stories, I see them as interpretations of non-supernatural events only.
(MO) How has your belief system influenced your opinions towards the paranormal? Do you believe it benefited or hindered you personally or professionally?
(BG) I believe that being an agnostic has allowed me to shed many biases related to religion. It's allowed me to open up my mind rather than be restricted to a set of beliefs specific to one religion I've travelled extensively and have seen how religion really can and often does play a role in the interpretation of "paranormal experiences".
(MO) You’re a bit of a historical buff aren’t you?
(BG) I am. I love history. I'm a total nerd.
(MO) Historically speaking, what is the era you are most captivated with and take pleasure in investigating?
(BG) I love the history of the Roman Empire and Ancient Egypt.
(MO) Can you tell us about your formal and informal education?
(BG) My formal education includes [prior to me being on television] primarily psychology and anthropology. I also had formal training in photography and religion. I am now going back to school to get my Secondary Education degree in Social Studies/History with an eventual goal of teaching anthropology at a university somewhere. As far as "informal" education, I suppose I'd have to include my experiences abroad among the many different cultures of the world. I've been lucky enough to interact with many very interesting individuals overseas and it did help to solidify and alter what I had previously been learning from professors and books. My perceptions of many different things have changed, some for the good and some for...well... I read a lot on crypto-zoology and the like as well.
(MO) Did your paranormal experiences as a child in any way influence your educational interests or eventual accomplishments?
(BG) Of course it did.
(MO) While knowledge of psychology, photography, crypto zoology, ufology and anthropology are each invaluable in their own right, what aspect of your instruction, curiosities or life practice do you believe assisted you the most with regard to investigating and understanding the paranormal?
(BG) I'd have to say cultural anthropology [which includes religion] and psychology. Of course, understanding how energy works and how the environment as well as how a person’s biology works is all very important too. I am, by no means an expert in any of those fields, but I feel that I have a strong understanding of them.
(MO) In your career, was there ever a piece of empirical data presented to you that you could not dismiss?
(BG) Due to time constraints because of filming, yes. Otherwise, I am confident in saying that there is always an alternative explanation as long as you remain skeptical and have the ability to apply one of the many fields that pertain to researching the "paranormal".
(MO) In your career, you’ve investigated in over 40 countries. Which location in your opinion was the most active?
(BG) Most active meaning the strangest occurrences that had viable alternative explanations? That would probably have to be Cambuquira, Brazil, Real Felipe Fortress in Peru, the Wolf's Lair in Poland, and St. Mary's Church at Margam Castle in Port Talbot, South Wales.
(MO) You were considered a constant on GHI as the Case Manager and Investigator. Why did you leave GHI? Was it your resolution? If not, whose was it and why?
(BG) I filmed with the show for 3 years and I was asked to return for a run in Central America but I chose not to go. It was my decision to turn it down. I honestly was through with the politics of it all and I didn't agree with the direction that they were taking the show.
(MO) You remarked, “I honestly was through with the politics of it all and I didn't agree with the direction that they were taking the show." Could you elaborate on what you mean by the politics and to what your point of contention was with regard to the direction of GHI?
(BG) I think most people already know by now, considering I've been saying the same thing for years since being on the show and it would be redundant if I went into all of that again. I've moved on and really don't have any interest in rehashing all of it again.
(MO) It has been voiced many times by fans that there were far too many investigators either joining or being dismissed from GHI from season to season. In fact, the most common contention from viewers online was, “I just can’t keep up!” Did you feel these cast shake ups were compulsory or feel the confusion ultimately led to a lack of GHI viewership?
(BG) The dismissals were for the most part decisions on behalf of the production company in an attempt to maintain or increase viewership or because of other reasons that are not for the public to know. It's television. This is how it works. It's business and the main goal is high ratings. For those that decided to leave on their own accord, there were very very few of us. While I was on the show, there were 9 or 10 cast changes. If the viewers didn't like the change ups, imagine how I felt.
(MO) There were rumors that Ashley Godwin had personal and professional differences with you. Is there any truth to this?
(BG) I can't speak for her. She and I were never friends and we certainly don't speak today. I'll leave it at that.
(MO) Did Ashley Godwin leave the show as a result of these perceived contentions on her part?
(BG) As far as I know, her official public reason for leaving the show was that she left to go to school. Again, I can't speak for her or her decisions.
(MO) Overall, how compatible was your working relationship with the other female GHI investigators?
(BG) I honestly preferred working on the show when it was just me and the four male investigators. There was less drama and less people and we felt like more of a tight knit group.
(MO) A common viewer conception about GHI as that you and Robb Demarest appeared to be the most like-minded professionally speaking on GHI. Do you agree and did you work well together?
(BG) I do agree. I don't want to sound pretentious, but for me I was on the show to investigate the paranormal and not to fight for "screen time". It was never about the" fame" for me and I think that that showed, or at least I hope it did.
(MO) I'm curious as to your comment, "I was on the show to investigate the paranormal and not to fight for "screen time". In your opinion was there anyone specific you felt valued screen time more than the point of the core objective itself?
(BG) Everyone other than me and some are still on the show.
(MO) It appears that several cast members who have departed GH/GHI left on less than amicable terms. Some claimed maltreatment on the part of SyFy, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. Did you find any legitimacy to these allegations in your experience or in other cast member experiences?
(BG) I had very little contact with Jason and Grant. I met them in person only once and very briefly when I did an episode of GH. Grant sat and talked with me for a few minutes and he was very nice to me during that encounter. People have to realize that I wasn't controlled by the people over at GH while I was on GHI. We certainly did our own thing unless we were ordered by production to incorporate members of GH into our episodes.
(MO) IMBd online reported that you, “pride yourself in knowing that you are one of the few, “para-celebs,” that has stayed true to the field.” In your opinion, who has not stayed true to the field?
(BG) Honestly, if people want to know, simply look at the shows and the actions of the "investigators" with a true skeptical eye. It should be pretty damn obvious. Heh.
(MO) What does, “stayed / staying true to the field,” mean to you?
(BG) Staying true to anything means to focus on the core of whatever it is. Television can be a very complicated beast and if you let it take control of you, reducing your morals or shifting your purpose to something else completely, you are in trouble. I never let that happen to me. I'm not saying that it was an easy or completely pleasant road that I was traveling on, but at the end of the day I did what I had to do to remain true to myself and what it was that I had originally signed up for ["paranormal research"].
(MO) How do you feel about the success of Para television shows on the air today and do you watch them?
(BG) I don't watch paranormal television with exception to Celebrity Ghost Stories on the BIO Channel.
(MO) Do you believe there may be or have been televised paranormal shows who have falsified evidence for ratings?
(BG) Absolutely.
(MO) In your opinion, are these paranormal television shows more about obtaining tangible evidence that hopefully opens doors of communication, contemplation or debate or simply entertainment for the masses?
(BG) See above.
(MO) How do you feel about the newer para equipment used by today’s televised paranormal groups and why do you believe GHI refuses to employ the same techniques?
(BG) The newer equipment isn't new. It's been used for years and not just for "paranormal research". Things like Frank's Box or the Ovilus are interpretation only devices that have absolutely no scientific backing in anyway, shape or form. They are for entertainment purposes only-just like the ghost hunting IPhone apps.
(MO) In your opinion, what was the demise of the countless Para television shows in the past or the success of current shows?
(BG) Cast, format and location. In that order.
(MO) How difficult was it on you psychologically being away from home for so long on your overseas investigations?
(BG) It was extremely exhausting both physically and emotionally, especially towards the end of my time working with the show. For me, travelling constantly for years on end and having no contact with friends and family due to no cell service or internet in some of the areas travelled to were aspects of this. Constant time zone changes, long lonely flights, sitting in hotels, researching, trying to pick up local languages, long drives with the caravan, missed flights, flight delays, security, and many other things all affected me. There were also a lot of strained relationships and growing tension between me and pretty much everyone else due to my stance on the direction of the show and growing animosities between other cast members and me for other reasons. I walked into the show with what I had thought were new friends and by the time I walked away, I had none. That's the nature of the beast. It is what it is and I've moved on.
(MO) You acknowledged, "There was also a lot of strained relationships and growing tension between me and pretty much everyone else due to my stance on the direction of the show and growing animosities between other cast members and myself for other reasons." Were you the only cast member who took exception to the direction of the show or did you have support? Also, other than the expected animosities that would develop between small groups of people over an extended time, could you elaborate on any disputations other than the norm?
(BG) I did not have support and everything else is nobody else's business.
(MO) What are your plans for the future? Is there anything paranormal in the works?
(BG) Aside from working on another degree and my photography, I continue writing my book and I'm also working on a few new potential projects that aren't necessarily paranormal related.
(MO) You're writing a book? What is your books premise and when can we expect to see it published?
(BG) I've been writing the book for the last couple years, but with my attention focused primarily on school, it's been difficult to work on it is I should. It was supposed to be out this year, but the release has been pushed back. I currently don't have a specific date. It will consist of many different things, including some of my photography. I don't want to go into great detail because I'm sure one of my ex-coworkers will decide to write something similar and push for it to be released before me. That's how they roll.
(MO) Are you content with what you’ve learned after your extensive journey exploring the unknown or are you still searching for your answers Brandy?
(BG) I certainly learned a lot about myself and a lot about the nature of other people who vie to maintain their screen time. In terms of whether I believe in ghosts now? I still don't completely believe in the existence of ghosts or spirits or the like. I find that I'm actually more skeptical than I was before becoming a cast member on the show.
(MO) Can you share the most valuable lesson you took from your experience with GHI?
(BG) See some of my other answers for this one.
(MO) In closing, is there anything you would like to share with your fans?
(BG) Thanks for your support!
In closing, I found Ms. Green to be a well-adjusted and energetic young lady who does her best to excel in any situation life hands her. To me, this woman is undoubtedly a survivor and an adapter under any circumstance.
Brandy did not hesitate to consent when I asked for her interview and as I researched her and her background, I found her to be exactly who she portrays herself as. She’s an accommodating, unwrapped, straightforward, educated, humorous and very deep individual who loves her personal causes and hometown. What’s more, she’s a young lady who wishes only to give back to the community she grew up in and global charities in general.
In all I find the way Ms. Green was treated by para TV production and former to current cast members to be par for the course. Para TV is no different than any other mass venue. It’s all about money and ratings. Of more inferior quality to me would be cast members who are obviously more concerned with face time and feigned dramatics than educating society.
Lamentably, ratings alone appear to dictate that intellect, professionalism, expertise and a healthy dose of skepticism intermingled in the quest for truth just isn't as marketable as they once were. If that’s the concluding verdict by Pilgrim Films and other production companies, then I would reason para TV is on its last legs and it is almost certainly about time.

2012 Mayan Calendar, is it Doomsday the End Times a New Beginning or Business as Usual, Paranormal or Not?

By Martha Hazzard Decker

2012 Mayan Calendar, is it Doomsday the End Times a New Beginning or Business as Usual, Paranormal or Not? Today is the last day of 2011. Now, does the countdown to 12/21/2012 begin? There are many theories out there and most are supported with credible information explained by a variety of intelligent individuals. They range from serious educators to scientists. Beliefs of doom and gloom or the rapture are also being spread by some religious groups and individuals. Only after 12/21/2012 will we know what will truly happen.

How many readers know what this calendar is other than an old calendar created by a very old culture? While the calendar has been around for such a long time and may have been known by scholars, historians, scientists and some religious individuals, the were many who were not aware of it until this past year. Last year saw many spins and hype regarding 2012. Now that it is  2012 the hype will become even louder. Watch for the movies and stories to become more common than in 2010 or 2011.

Let’s not forget about the sunbursts that are being talked about within astronomical circles. They claim to have started in 2011 and will become more intense in 2012 during a natural cycle of solar maximum bursts, according to the website All About 2012 by Alex, found on Great Dreams. This site even claims that Russia is building a large underground city to house 60,000 people because the heat from the sunbursts will be so intense. Further reading on this site includes many things from astronomy to physics and crop circles. Anyone reading this site could very well end up very worried. But wait, they can go the main Great Dreams webpage and join Earth Mountain View Community. This includes their FaceBook page and a link for donations. They talk about WWWIII, survival information, and many more conspiracy theories. More of these will pop up throughout the coming year.

Then on Wikipedia you can find explanations such as this “The Maya calendar is a system of calendars used in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, and in many modern communities in highland Guatemala and in Veracruz, Oaxaca and Chiapas, Mexico.

The essentials of the Maya calendar are based upon a system which had been in common use throughout the region, dating back to at least the 5th century BCE. It shares many aspects with calendars employed by other earlier Mesoamerican civilizations, such as the Zapotec and Olmec, and contemporary or later ones such as the Mixtec and Aztec calendars. Although the Mesoamerican calendar did not originate with the Maya, their subsequent extensions and refinements of it were the most sophisticated. Along with those of the Aztecs, the Maya calendars are the best-documented and most completely understood.

By the Maya mythological tradition, as documented in Colonial Yucatec accounts and reconstructed from Late Classic and Postclassic inscriptions, the deity Itzamna is frequently credited with bringing the knowledge of the calendar system to the ancestral Maya, along with writing in general and other foundational aspects of Maya culture. The 260 day count is commonly known to scholars as the Tzolkin, or Tzolk'in in the revised orthography of the Academia de las Lenguas Mayas de Guatemala. The Tzolk'in was combined with a 365-day vague solar year known as the Haab, or Haab year' , to form a synchronized cycle lasting for 52 Haabs, called the Calendar Round. Smaller cycles of 13 days (the trecena) and 20 days (the veintena) were important components of the Tzolk'in and Haab' cycles, respectively. The Calendar Round is still in use by many groups in the Guatemalan highlands.

A different calendar was used to track longer periods of time, and for the inscription of calendar dates (i.e., identifying when one event occurred in relation to others). This is the Long Count. It is a count of days since a mythological starting-point. According to the correlation between the Long Count and Western calendars accepted by the great majority of Maya researchers (known as the Goodman-Martinez-Thompson, or GMT, correlation), this starting-point is equivalent to August 11, 3114 BCE in the proleptic Gregorian calendar or 6 September in the Julian calendar (−3113 astronomical). The GMT correlation was chosen by John Eric Sydney Thompson in 1935 on the basis of earlier correlations by Joseph Goodman in 1905 (August 11), Juan Martínez Hernández in 1926 (August 12), and Thompson himself in 1927 (August 13). By its linear nature, the Long Count was capable of being extended to refer to any date far into the past or future. This calendar involved the use of a positional notation system, in which each position signified an increasing multiple of the number of days. The Maya numeral system was essentially vigesimal (i.e., base-20), and each unit of a given position represented 20 times the unit of the position which preceded it. An important exception was made for the second-order place value, which instead represented 18 × 20, or 360 days, more closely approximating the solar year than would 20 × 20 = 400 days. It should be noted however that the cycles of the Long Count are independent of the solar year.

Many Maya Long Count inscriptions contain a supplementary series, which provides information on the lunar phase, number of the current lunation in a series of six and which of the nine Lords of the Night rules.
A 584-day Venus cycle was also maintained, which tracked the heliacal risings of Venus as the morning and evening stars. Many events in this cycle were seen as being astrologically inauspicious and baleful, and occasionally warfare was astrologically timed to coincide with stages in this cycle.

Less-prevalent or poorly understood cycles, combinations and calendar progressions were also tracked. An 819-day Count is attested in a few inscriptions. Repeating sets of 9-day (see below "Nine lords of the night") and 13-day intervals associated with different groups of deities, animals, and other significant concepts are also known.”

According to an article in Discovery News by Ian O’Neill the calendar date might be wrong. Others have said the same. He wrote, “According to all the ridiculous hype surrounding Dec. 21, 2012, the Mayans "predicted" the end of the world with one of their calendars. On this date, doomsayers assert that Earth will be ravaged by a smorgasbord of cataclysmic astronomical events -- everything from a Planet X flyby to a "killer" solar flare to a geomagnetic reversal, ensuring we have a very, very bad day. As we all know by now, these theories of doom are bunkum. And now, according to a recent study by an associate professor at UC Santa Barbara, this fundamental "end date" may also be inaccurate. It could be at least 60 days out of whack.”

The main point of this article is to usher in the New Year with an open mind. Don’t fall into the beliefs of any idea or person without doing your due diligence. There are many more places to acquire information that may give a better perspective on the reality on 2012, be it paranormal or otherwise.

Where will you be 12/21/2012?

The Paranormal Christian: 2012 And New Age Hysteria

By Pastor Michael Frisbee, DD/DM

Now that 2011 has closed out and 2012 has begun, a new countdown begins for a whole lot of paranoid people caught up in Doomsday hysteria (again) leading to the latest chosen date for the end of all things.  It amazes me how reasonable people (allegedly) can over and over fall for these false prophecies.  They will even shout you down for being ignorant and closed minded, yet will shut their minds to God’s Word, God’s truth, God’s Own Prophecy.

This coming year, more specifically December 21st of 2012, is the target date for our sensitive New Agers.  From (non) Mayan Prophecy, renewed Planet X interest, alignment of the planets with the galaxy core, etc to even a spiritual rebirth thanks to the Pleiadians, alien spiritual guardians from afar, there are a number of predictions which none has any scientific evidence or bearing to support them.  There are conspiracies abound that even fall across political lines, people who are creating survival shelters, hoarding supplies, food, weapons to survive doomsday December 2012.

If you are having déjà-vu, you aren’t going crazy.  There have been doomsayers for a few millennia.  More recently, there was that whole Y2K deal.  I worked in the Information Technology field then, and tried to calm my clients nerves that the power grids were not going to implode, their computers were not going to melt down, that society was not going to fall apart and have to revert to counting on their hands and in their heads.  It was pretty much a waste of breath since the media was flooded with fear inducing hysteria pieces.  Then on January 1, 12:00:01 am 2000…….NOTHING HAPPENED.  Just a lot of people feeling like idiots.

Then there was the whole Planet X prophecy in 2003 – sputtered into non existence, but getting a good resurgence in 2012.  It’s amazing how incredibly high the level of failure these prophecies by psychics, mediums, New Age shamans, and so forth have regarding prophecies.  Even with 9/11, a perfect opportunity for psychics, mediums, New Age shamans and other sensitive’s to show their capabilities, not one prophecy announced or shared BEFORE the event, but plenty claiming to have given one AFTER the event.  The end of times for 2012 will prove out to be just as much as a fizzled failure, and doomsayers will have to find another date to go frantic over, or maybe they will finally turn to the one true source of prophecy that NEVER fails.

The other side of all this is the farce and demonic doctrine of the Pleiadians.  The whole scam began with Billy Meier in the 70’s claiming he was contacted and appointed by them as their earthly ambassador to introduce them to mankind.  They were essentially visitors from another galaxy, and have been involved in our development going back almost 225,000 years.  As the whole hoax broke down, the spiritualists of the New Age picked up the storyline and suddenly spirit Channelers, mediums, and such began to layout how they were truly spiritual guardians of humanity.  They talk of a spiritual evolving of mankind coming in December 2012 rather than a world ending destruction.  They even have the gall, which reveals the true demonic nature of their teachings, that Jesus Christ was a Pleiadian spiritual leader that stayed behind to help us evolve.

I’ll be delving even deeper into the whole Pleiadian scheme January 13th, with a radio show featuring Dr Fred DeRuva, an expert on the Pleiadian fraud, which will air January 14th on The Paranormal Christian, www.theparanormalchristian.com .

As for an astronomic ending to our world, there are no scientific findings or data that supports the alignment of our planets with the galactic core.  There are no findings of deep space large objects hurtling at earth, nothing of an extraterrestrial origin that can bring an end to us in 2012.

There is only one source of prophecy we need concern ourselves with and that is the Bible.  The second coming of Jesus Christ is approaching closer and closer.  When you take all the prophecies in the Bible, the only ones that never materialized are the ones yet to come.  Many of the signs of the second coming have come to pass.  Many others are yet to happen.  There is no date set in the Bible for when that time will come.  No man will ever know, and certainly no demon will either.  Only God knows what is in His mind and what His plan is for humanity.  But as a born again Christian – I need not worry.  For as long as I am in Him, and He in me, whether I die in some prophesied doomsday, get run over by a train, or have some stupid home bound accident that takes my life I am not the least bit concerned for I know my ultimate destination – Heaven.

It is only through accepting Jesus Christ can one enter into Heaven.  You have to confess your sins to Him, rebuke your sinful ways and sinful life, and ask to be forgiven and be washed and sanctified in His sacrificed blood.  He died for you, so you can enter Heaven upon your death.  When you are re-born in Christ – death is no longer something to fear.  You can set aside silly man made prophecies and doomsday scenarios.  You can see with clear and open eyes the fraud of the occult and New Age, and recognize the doctrines of the demonic and how they deceive the non believer into following it to their spiritual and eventually physical death.

I invite you to make a New Years Eve resolution that you can easily keep, and will provide you life eternal and salvation from a wicked world.  If you are a non believer, if you are a lost soul caught up in the world and the occult, I invite you to rebuke all of that.  I encourage you to lay aside your ego and pride, and to accept the freely given, and greatly paid for, gift of salvation.  I invite you to become a disciple of Jesus Christ.

It’s not an easy thing by any means.  It’s easy to accept the gift, but it is hard to walk the path, to live your life as a Christian.  It takes sacrifice, but none more than what Jesus sacrificed for us.  It can lead to rejection, even by your dearest friends and family.

Do you have the guts, the courage, the commitment to walk as Christ walked?  If you want to begin 2012 on the right path, if you want to walk into 2012 not fearing anything in death, then I invite you to contact me through my church ministry, www.LibertyGospelMinistries.com .  I’ll speak with you and help you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

If you want a truly PARANORMAL and SUPERNATURAL experience – you can’t find one more intense than feeling the Holy Spirit filling you up and anointing you as a born again believer of Jesus Christ.

Issue 55 –Psychic Kids Pilfering!

By Kirby Robinson

Yes we have survived the holidays and are now ready to get back to work exposing the paranormal fakers and false demon chasers out there.

But first let's take a minute to reflect. The EYE ON THE PARANORMAL has gone through many changes in 2011. We've gone from one post a week to new posts every day. We offer a voice to anyone who has the guts to step up and take the chance. Back in 2008 we were on the forefront of exposing paranormal fakers and frauds from psychics to para-reality shows. We did this due to the harm that was being done by those who only have dollar signs in their eyes. Those para-fakers fed off the children featured on Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal and the viewers who were led to believe the show was authentic.

Our detractors can only run and hide from the truth we are spreading. To date, not one point we raised concerning the fake para-reality shows such as Paranormal State, Demon Exorcist and Psychic Kids have been disproven. We helped stop Chip Coffey's newest fake reality show from being picked up, along with many others. We helped the Face Book page for Psychic Kids get locked down to protect children from the predators who trolled there in search of victims. We stood up to personal attacks lead by Sandra Lynn Sparks and Chip as they refuse to address the truth. Instead, these supposed adults chose to make fun of my failing eyesight or raised questions about my sexuality.

But on a sad note it seems true that Scifake.com has been parked. We are sad to see this happen and wish Ron Tebo the very best in his life. If he would ever want to post here we would make room for him.

PSYCHIC KIDS: CHILDREN OF THE PARANORMAL – THE PILFERING

It was bad enough that such fake para-celebs like Chip Coffey, Chris Fleming, Michelle Griffin, and Kim Russo put children's mental and emotional health at risk and used them to make money.  But they keep trying to slip their hands into people's pockets and mess with their souls. How do they do this?

A production company or a TV network often sets up websites to support a TV show or allow like-minded viewers to gather and exchange ideas and ask questions about the show's content. This was the case for Psychic Kids. A Face Book page was established and became very popular for fans of the show, both adults and children. Unfortunately, what the public didn't know was that neither A&E nor the show's producers monitored the activity. This left it wide open for all kinds of predators to troll for unsuspecting victims. People posted questions and would get a comment/answer back from a person like Sandra Lynn Sparks. Was she working for A&E? No. Was she hired by the production company? No. Does she have any training working with kids? No. Who was she working for? Chip Coffey.

Sandra was a moderator on Chip's board and she is also behind two other boards. We'll get to this next week as we take a look into the content. Sandra made sure that links to Chip's services and events were regularly posted. This made it look like the show was backing these events. She also posted links for Chris Fleming's events, along with any that Michelle Griffin hosted.

If a child posted questions about their mental health, Sandra Sparks would jump right in and direct them to her pages. If a parent posted, she directed them to her pages. And if any doubters posted anything negative about the show, the fake para-celebs or the mental health professionals who engaged in questionable actions on the show, she would launch attacks and spread lies about the doubters.

Does this sound like a safe place for the public? Not at all. Safe for kids? Definitely not. At one point a known convicted felon was posting, willing to work with kids. Another individual, a man, was posting that he was willing to work with young children. This man regularly directed the kids into private chat rooms and never once were the words "ask your parents first" ever used.

It's hard to separate a dog from his bone. The same is true of a fake para-celeb and his meal ticket. When the Face Book page for Psychic Kids was locked down and Sandra couldn't pretend to be a moderator, a new Face Book page, Psychic Kids: Afterword was introduced. It's not an official page and the public isn't' informed of this. Again, they are starting to play their games to scam the public.

To date they only have 70 followers. You can catch Sandra Lynn Sparks and her sockpuppet accounts trying to look busy.

Next week we expose more of the Psychic Kids scam.

Where Paranormal Investigators and Ghost Hunters Tred - Part I

By Skarlet Rae

Lately I've been thinking about several things, and will be covering these topics in the next few segments.  Things like....

What is the intent of paranormal investigators and ghost hunters?  What do paranormal investigators and ghost hunters ultimately accomplish?  How do paranormal investigators and ghost hunters help?

Let's start by looking at the fact that prior to the new milleneum there were very few people who were invovled with paranormal activity.  It was extremely hard, if not impossible to find those who hunted or investigated these occurances.  It is only in the past decade or so, that groups gathered and people started actively and openly being interested in, discussing and sharing their findings.  Those who were involved, were not in the mainstream and not easily accessible.  Finding people who had any experience or knowledge about entities that haunt, occupy or infest places and people was rare, if at all possible.  Aside from Churches, but that is another topic.  In 2003, when I, personally, and not for the first time, encountered and documented some paranormal activity, I was hard pressed to find anyone with whom I could share and discuss such activity and evidence.  Numerous and lengthy internet searched yeilded nothing.  Attempting to find a knowledgable source in the metphysical or parapsychological communities also failed miserably.

Yet if we look around today, there are Ghost Hunting groups or Paranormal Investigative teams in every city, in some more than one.  It has reached such proportions that we can even see teenagers in high school gather their friends to go ghost hunting, which by the way can be terribly dangerous, but that's another blog for another day.

For many who are invovled in such investigations, their journey began to try to solve a mystery that existed in their own lives.  They have had paranormal experiences, usually in their past, that perplexed them, confused them and at worst, frightened them.  Therefore they went on a quest to explore and find answers.  Answers to experiences like what goes bump in the night, what was it that touched them, what made some inanimate object disappear or move while they weren't present.  One can imagine how unsettling it must be to feel or experience something one cannot see.  To encounter things that we were taught do not exist and aren't real.  For those individuals, therefore,  hunting and investigations are not only of great interest but almost a necessity.  They have a great need to find answers and the truth.  Quite understandably.  So they, either alone or gathered with a group of likeminded individuals, set out with some modern equipment to investigate, gather evidence and try to find some answers.

Then there are those individuals who are just plainly fascinated by and interested in the paranormal and paranormal activity.  Whether they have had any personal paranormal experiences or not, they are lead by their curiosity.  They join a team and proceed with investigations.

All are seeking evidence.  Proof of what, most of the time is unseen.  To gather that, which until now most people only rolled their eyes at or whispered behind their backs about.  They seek to prove, with scientific methods, that which until now was only evidenced by eye witness accounts.  Just as most law enforcement agencies and courts find individual eye witness accounts somewhat unreliable, so does society.  People in our communities are accustomed to scoffing at those individuals that relate occurances they themselves have not experienced.  They doubt occurances that are not part of their daily walks of life.  Their first judgement is to assume the possibility of the individual's mental imbalance.  That it prabably was the individual's imagination.  That they must have been hallucinating.  That it had to have been a dream.  Yet ghost hunters and paranormal investigators are now proving that there IS something there.  That those things that go bump in the night have validity.  That even though houses settle and building frames creak, there is, at times, more to those sounds and noises in the night than just building construction realities.

With their evidence they are saying to us, "See.. there IS something there".

But what is it?

What are those things that we see out of the corner of our eyes?  That warp speed shadow that flitted across our perifial vision.  Was it just our imaginations?  Is something really there?  What was that noise that sounded like a child crying out?  Could it just be a cat mewing outside?  At a distance, and we just weren't paying enough attention to realize that's all it was?  What about that knocking and scratching that seems to come from the walls?  Is it a small rodent or animal stuck?  Then why is the knocking rhythmic?  Is it really just the house settling?  Or is there more to it?  These are exactly the questions that ghost hunters and paranormal investigators are trying to find answers to.

So with evidence gathered they congregate to isolate that which was compiled from the shadows.  They have evp's, thermal images, video footage, photographs.  They have spent hours, days and even weeks at times, yet do they know what it really is?  Can they really tell us what that sound was?  Whose voice they caught on that evp?  What was that human looking dark shadow figure standing at the end of the corridor?  Or what that black mass was that seemingly crawled across the floor?  How do they really know what it is?  Where does their knowledge come from?  Do they have an encycopedia or a database that gives them reference?  So how do they know?

No matter how much information is readily available to us in today's day and age through the internet, how do we actually know what is exactly what, when it comes to such an obscure field as the paranormal?  I would equate it to something along the lines of trying to look up the flavor of something in a reference manual or the internet.  One tastes the flavor and searches to find the name for it.  How?

So with even the best of intents, of desiring to prove, scientifically that the paranormal exists.  Even after dedicating ones self, one's time, effort, energy, finances for equipment, having the best intent and integrity of documentation.  How do they know exactly what they're dealing with or finding?  And isn't that the 'intent'... to prove what it is?
With all that said, and thinking about all the ghost hunters and paranormal investigators, some of whom, at this precise moment as I'm writing this, are out there doing a hunt or investigation, one must turn to another aspect of their reality.  Their spirit and their eagerness.

Therefore, there is much good one can say for those brave ones who either fearlessly or overcoming their own trepidation, enter and try to document what hasn't been scientifically documented before.  I think likening them to firemen would be an appropriate analogy.  When firefighters first came on the scene many decades ago, they were volunteers.  They were lacking any formality, equipment and modern technology.  They rolled up their sleeves and rushed forward with water in hand.  Many paid heavy prices for their heroism.  With each passing year and decade they increased their knowledge and experience, where by today, a fireman can give you some amazingly specific details about any fire.

In the same way, I believe that the intent of paranormal investigators and ghost hunters, at least many of them, is positive if not even altruistic.  Yet as it being in it's early developmental stages, one who is involved in hunting or investigating should arm themselves as much as possible.  When a fireman of old headed into a fire, he didn't shed his clothing, but tried to guard himself, using a wet blanket if necessary.  In the same way I believe that today's hunter and investigator should try to protect themselves, even if with old fashioned methods. If and when other methods become available, then the open mind would explore those options.  But until then, I highly recommend using the 'wet blankets' we already have available.

In the next segment I will be talking about, 'What do paranormal investigators and ghost hunters ultimately accomplish?' and 'How do paranormal investigators and ghost hunters help?'.

Please see Part II.
