Issue 53 – Bad Psychics, Criminal Psychics & Predator Psychics

It's been a lousy week for fake psychics or those who might have a small gift but seek to use it for personal gain and not as means to help people. But what can we really expect of fakers and predators?

PSYCHIC CLAIMS TO HAVE VISIONS OF MISSING BABY LISA IRWIN

If you have not heard of the case of the missing baby Lisa Irwin, you haven't been watching cable news. The one-year-old has been missing since October 4, 2011. The police have turned up no leads and are now saying the case may never be solved. The family refuses to help and have asked that people stop gathering in prayer vigils outside their home

All of the above is very sad. But what's even sadder is that now so-called psychics are trying to cash in on the case. [I feel I must constantly say that yes, there are real psychics. But for every real one there are many fakers out there.] It seems that a psychic by the name of Stephanie Almaguer has gone public with her visions of where baby Lisa will be found. Stephanie has posted drawings of where the body will allegedly be found on her blog. One wonders why go public at all? Contact the local police and have them check it out. Nothing was ever found at the site so we wonder where did the visions come from? If the ability to see things others can't comes from GOD [which it does] will GOD show them things that are false? No. Why would a loving GOD ever do that? Then it must come from someplace that holds less than honorable intentions. This is the same psychic who claims to have worked on the Haleigh Cummings case-- and to date her body hasn't been found either. So why did this so-called psychic get involved? Let's take a look at her blog activity and her personal appearances on cable TV.

In 2009, when she began blogging, Stephanie she has posted very few times. Even as recently as the summer, postings have been in the single digits. Since October, she has posted over 70 blogs. She keeps inserting herself into even more missing person cases.

Is it not sad that people seek to gain fame and riches on the backs of dead people? If this person was concerned about helping she should just do that: help and keep her actions in the shadows. Only a person who seeks no reward for their actions outside of helping people will do that.

If you watch Stephanie's appearances on the cable programs that have featured her, watch her eye movements. They show a person who is being less than honest. In fact, now she has been threatening legal action against those who have chosen to expose possible fake psychics like her.

DID YOU KNOW THAT SYLVIA BROWN IS A FELON?

Most do not due to the lack of media coverage this woman gets. Just like the case with Stephanie Almaguer, Sylvia Brown [sometimes spelled Browne], she also inserted herself into a missing person's case, informing the suffering parents that their son was dead when he was alive.

PSYCHIC PREDATORS -- MODERN DAY ELMER GANTRY'S

I'm talking about the book Elmer Gantry by Sinclair Lewis, not the film which only covers 100 pages, changes the story and does away with many of the characters. But just like Elmer, the preacher, he is able to blind, confuse and turn into zombies many of his followers. It really is scary--if one can be scared. [I have complete and utter faith in GOD that he will protect me and angels are always watching where I go and where I have been.] Such zombielike confusion was shown by a comment that I received in last week's blog by a person who posted under the name of Nancy.

The sad thing is you people are no different then the people of salem and the jews who sent christ to death. If Christ appeared before you today you would attack him as well and print garbage to make him look bad. You disguise lies in your writings to support your idiotic opinions and claims. If you really were, you would have the insight to know how wrong you are. Your words display hype and lies. Like the boy who cried wolf (which after reading your posts on A&E site- you surely act like), you say you aren't saying one thing when in fact you are. Shame on you. Really? You discuss the Penn State sex incident and Psychic Kids TV show in the same article? Disgusting and immature attitudes from you, a so called grown up adult. An extremely Irresponsible article you have written. How can you even practice Buddhism or Christianity and point fingers like you do? Such a hypocrite. You make us Christians look bad. I look forward to discussing your article with my peer group on sunday.

1 As to the people of Salem, their interest was twofold. They killed people so they could claim their property, and the second reason was to keep woman in their place.

2 The Jews didn't kill Christ. That is a myth used against Jews for centuries. You're showing your anti-Semitic side.

3 If Christ appears in front of me, I would be on my knees, for he is my teacher, guide, savior and protector. Who might yours be?

5 If you say that I have no right to judge, then how do you have the right to judge me?

6 In your peer group why not talk about the warning in the Bible concerning talking to psychics?

This person is a strong example of a psychic worshipper. It's something that psychic predators use to control the public and the people they feed off of. The psychic predators claim they have special powers that set themselves apart from others. Psychic predators claim they hold the key to secrets, and that only through them can the public learn about these secrets. Psychic predators claim that unless you have the same talents/gifts, you could never understand their powers. If you dare question what they do, then you'll be attacked.

What you never hear a psychic predator admit that what they are after is fame wealth power and worship from the general public and what fallows is idol worship

If these people really have what they claim, they would give thanks to God and admit that they are simply a channel for God to work through them. They would accept no money for their work. But we've seen that they do the exact opposite.

Did you ever hear them mention God on the show, Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal? [One mom brought up her belief in angels and demons in an episode, and notice Chip's annoyed reaction].

Skating Monks!

It was a fairly typical public session for a weekday afternoon at the skating rink in Los Angeles, California. A few home-schooled adolescents were training for their next competition. A housewife in new skates struggled with her back crossovers, and two men in burgundy sweats and rental skates remained shakily upright. Men in their thirties with close cropped black hair and dark skin were not that unusual a sight in Southern California. But before they had changed into their skating attire they’d been wearing burgundy and gold monk’s robes. 

That morning the Tibetan Buddhist monks had been involved in their practice of chanting mantras and later having their morning cup of milky Indian tea. The monks wore the Tibetan Buddhist version of a three-piece suit; the robes consisted of a long skirt, gold and maroon vest and a separate cloth winding around the upper body sari-style. Hanging around Tibetan lamas was something I was accustomed to as I visited the center frequently. Yeshi and Tenzin were of Tibetan descent and had been raised in Bhutan and India respectively. Studying in a South Indian monastery, exposure to any type of skating had been via satellite. When the tangka [religious] painters got to America they knew who the names of Olympians Michelle Kwan and Tara Lipinski. Tenzin, the younger monk, had been given a pair of inline skates but had only tried them out on the bumpy driveway with no instruction. Yeshi, the senior monk with a doctorate in Buddhist studies, had never been on any type of skate before.

Their standard attire wasn’t conducive to skating, so the resourceful monks brought along suitable athletic apparel in their knapsack. I’d never traveled anywhere with monks but the trip to the rink was entertaining as they described all the sites they’d seen in Southern California. They had visited Magic Mountain, Disneyland, Universal Studios, and had pictures of the Hollywood sign. Lakers fan Tenzin had seen his favorite basketball team play twice at the Staples Center, once viewing a game from a box seat. 

The security patrol car in the parking lot had stopped near my car where I was unloading my skate bag, and the uniformed guard stared at the two robed Buddhist monks. On or off the ice, men just didn’t wear skirts, even in Southern California. After my pals changed into their burgundy warm-ups, they were able to watch a senior level pairs team run through their long program. The coach with the gold blades was the two-time Olympic pairs champion and I informed them of this fact.  Meanwhile, Timothy Goebel was warming up. Tenzin and Yeshi were very impressed with the high quality of skating and Yeshi joked: "I could do that!" when the man lifted the girl above his head in a star lift.  More comments were made, with Tenzin remarking that: "I can do a triple Axel." I smiled. I knew that he would skate well but probably wouldn’t even complete a bunny hop.

As it was a weekday afternoon so there weren’t too many skaters. Once we changed into our skates, we went over to the entrance and Tenzin was the first one on the newly resurfaced ice. The comments about doing triple Axels faded quickly from his memory. The young man was attempting to keep his feet beneath him and the blades pointed due north. His knees stiffened and I had to hold his hands. Once he got to the first corner I helped Yeshi onto the alien surface. An aesthetic type, I wondered how long the senior monk would last and if he wouldn’t be happier sitting in the bleachers drawing pictures of Buddha. His body was almost in a state of rigor mortis and I was worried that he’d fall and not be able to get up. I left him to hold up the railing while I skated over to coach Tenzin. As I was gently leading Tenzin I felt it…that instant before the inevitable fall. His knees locked, his feet slid forward and continued to do so until his rear end made contact with the ice. There was a torrent of laughter. In unison the monks’ amusement filled the rink. The word icebreaker was apt! Soon Yeshi experienced his first fall and remained on ice in a seated half lotus posture, too baffled to get up. 

Progress was slow, as swizzles, two footed skating, which required a lot of knee bending, wasn’t understood by either artist. Tenzin interpreted bending his knees to mean his waist even though his comprehension of English was fluent. My goal was to have them glide on the ice rather than hobble about as many beginners did. I decided to have them do a scooter like move with one foot straight and the back foot slightly turned out with the blade doing the pushing. This method worked for them and they began to make quicker progress than before. Their concentration was keen. Falls still elicited laughter from the fallen and the friend. Tenzin’s blades slammed into the wall and he did a half belly flop.  Yeshi completely lost his balance when his hips and feet had an internal argument. 

Tenzin greeted each lap around the rink with enthusiasm and a sense of accomplishment.  Yeshi used his advanced yoga training to imitate his teacher and his skills surpassed that of the younger and more athletic Tenzin! He was able to balance so well on one foot that he began to do a modified spiral. This was to skating what the arabesque was to ballet or the scale to gymnastics. One leg was extended behind the skater so it was parallel to the ice. Rarely did beginners attempt such a move unless they had extensive athletic training.  I wondered if Yeshi was an incarnation of a former world championship level figure skater! 

For over two hours the "ice babies" frolicked on the cold surface they’d grown to love.  An advanced level teen commented on their progress, stating that most first time adult skaters never let go of the railing. And like any successful novice, they spent some time in the uncrowded center ice area.

Although I was their teacher, I learned more from them. I was shown how mindfulness of one’s surroundings allowed a person to excel in an unfamiliar activity. The monks harmed neither themselves nor any other skater. They didn’t attempt moves that were too difficult, yet they tried to perfect what they’d been taught. When I told them that the session was nearly over, both were genuinely surprised. Not once had the men looked at the clock.

No matter what path one follows, effort is always necessary. But enthusiastic effort was what the practitioner was encouraged to cultivate. The monks skated for the first time that day demonstrated the latter point perfectly. With sincerity and effort they tried something new and succeeded.

As they cast a final, seemingly longing glance at the rink, I asked if they wanted to skate again. Athletic Tenzin didn't seem too sure, but Yeshi, the intellectual artist-turned-skater, did!

Djinn or Genie are they real or folklore? Do they come from the paranormal world or another dimension?

Djinn or Genie are they real or folklore? Do they come from the paranormal world or another dimension? Djinn have been around through religion and folklore for thousands of years. Most Americans often think of I Dream of Jeanie when they think of the Djinn or the genie that grants three wishes. They are mentioned in Islam, the Bible and other religious books. While the concept of the Djinn does not occur in the original Hebrew version of the Bible the word is used in Arabic translations. In the “Testament of Solomon,” he describes enslaving demons to build his temple. Then there was the novel so many read, “Arabian Nights.” Who didn’t wish for their three magic wishes? The earliest reference in literature to Djinn is found in “The Book of 1001 Nights.” Even the cartoons taught children to be careful of what they wish for because the wish would be granted quite literally. The name is spelled many different ways and they are called by a variety of names.

Arab folklore and Islamic teachings describe them as supernatural creatures that occupy a parallel world alongside our world. It also states that Djinn, humans and angels make up the three sentient creations of Allah. The Qur’an states they are made up of smokeless flame and they can be good, evil or benevolent, according to Wikipedia. Some archaeologists within Middle Eastern cultures consider beings less than angels to be Djinn when describing stone carvings and other works of art.

In “The Vengeful Djinn,” by Rosemary Ellen Guiley and Philip Imbrogno they write about unveiling the hidden agenda of Djinn. She discusses theories in quantum physics and explores the relationship between Djinns, demons, fairies, shadow people and extraterrestrials. (This author attempted to contact Ms Guiley for an interview but she did not respond) In the book Djinn are described as, “A particular type of entity that exists between the multiverse of matter and energy. The Djinn exist in a dimension close to our own, and they seem to have the ability to interact with certain people who live here when it suits their purpose.” She goes into quite a lot of detail in the book and on the website for the book.

If you go to About.com to obtain information about the Djinn this is some of what you will find, “Djinn: A spirit from Arabic mythology that can be either good or evil. The djinn are less powerful than angels, but can assume the shapes of humans, animals or whirlwinds. Belief in djinns has been wide-spread throughout the Arabian Peninsula and Central Asia; the spirits are even mentioned in the Koran. In fact, Satan often is believed to be the most prominent of the djinns. Belief in djinns may well predate both Christianity and Islam. In Zoroastrian Persia, before the coming of Islam, evil female spirits called jaini were thought to cause disease and misfortune. The word djinn comes from the Arabic "jinni," or demon. Its root is janna, meaning "to cover or conceal." In English, the word is often translated at "genie,” in an article by Kallie Szczepanski.

Real or not real is similar to a recent article on Eye on the Paranormal regarding ghosts and just what is a ghost. We may never know is the Djinn or real but researchers are working hard to prove there may be alternate dimensions or even worm holes in many places and while open people are actually seeing into the other dimension, sometimes even interacting with beings there but calling them ghosts. A good example of alternate dimensions could be seen on the TV show “Fringe” as they travel back and forth between parallel dimensions. On this show there are the same people in the both dimensions, they look the same but the worlds and people are different.

Some individuals claim there are six major tribes of Djinn, they are related to the Fay and are supposed to be older than mankind. The tribes live in different area and will interact with people in different ways. It is believed that some Djinn can be very dangerous. Dependent on what reference you read there are at least three tribes and up to six. There is a movie on YouTube called Reptilians, Demons and the Djinn in ancient Mythology by wolovoman80 that provides additional information.

Irfit are considered to be one of the strongest tribes and violent toward humans. Jann are allies of Irfit and more conservative. The Ghul are said to be corrupted by infernal powers. The Madrid are said to be the smallest of the tribes and the oldest. Shaitan are said to be master deceivers. There are those who believe they can bind Djinn to an object using a spell once they know the Djinn’s true name and possess a piece of the Djinn. An easy Google search will give you plenty of pages to peruse looking for spells. You can even buy Djinn bound jewelry on eBay by the hundreds. It is said that once bound a Djinn can be forced to do the bidding of the owner. Hence Aladdin’s lamp type of image books and shows.

This article is by no means meant to tell you all there is to know about Djinn or if there is such a thing. It is meant to provoke thought and communication so comments are welcome. What do you think?

The Paranormal Christian – Purgatory and Ghosts

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving last week.  The short work we last week left me a ton of work this week, and unfortunately, I spaced getting an article ready for my blog.  Thus, this week, my co-host on “The Paranormal Christian”, Rev Mark Hunnemann, is helping me out by presenting an article he wrote back in April regarding Purgatory.  We will be discussing this in greater detail on our show tomorrow night.

Purgatory and Ghosts.

Born the seventh of ten children, I grew up in a devout Roman Catholic family.  As a sensitive young boy, I understood Purgatory as hell with an ending; after the appropriate amount of time had been served, souls would be released. Who went to Purgatory? Any Christian who was not perfect when they died would spend a finite amount of time suffering in a hellish state in order to cleanse or purge away the remaining filth of sin.  After the soul had been perfected, then entrance into heaven was allowed. Thus, Purgatory was a virtual inevitability for every believer, except for a select few saints. Today, none of my siblings are Christians, and I suffer from scar tissue built up on my soul caused, in part, by belief in Purgatory. I would put bb's (bb gun) in my socks as a boy, and walk around in intentional discomfort, in order to suffer for Christ, and build up merit points which would lessen the length of my stay in short-term hell (Purgatory).

A growing number of paranormal investigators, especially Christians, are turning to the notion of Purgatory in an attempt to integrate their belief in earthbound spirits with their Christian convictions. Being trapped here on Earth, is seen as Purgatory. C.S. Lewis believed in Purgatory and he is the inspiration for some evangelical paranormalists embracing it too..

What response do I have? C.S. Lewis was one of the best read men of the twentieth century, as well as Christianity's most influential apologist (defender) during that period. He touched millions of lives, including my own.
   
However, Lewis never claimed to be a theologian. And I think he would disapprove of what many are saying about him in that regard. There were certain areas where he was aberrant: he did not believe in the inerrancy of the bible--AND he believed in praying for the dead and in Purgatory.
   
Regardless of what CS Lewis believed, the idea that the paranormal realm here on Earth is the place where souls experiences Purgatory is wrongheaded in a number of ways. First, from the data that we have from the vast corpus of EVP's, there is no correlation between official RC teaching on the nature of Purgatory and what is happening with alleged trapped souls. From their own voices, these entities--as a whole--give no expression of agony due to purgation of their sins. As I point out in "Seeing Ghosts through God's Eyes" precious little is said about sin, remorse for sin, longing for heaven, and the Person and work of Jesus. The body of EVP should be chock full of such expressions if the paranormal realm were Purgatory.
   
Second, official RC dogma states that only believers are allowed in Purgatory. Unbelievers are sent immediately to hell. That implies that every ghost trapped here on Earth is a Christian who is suffering hell-like torment. As seen above, that is simply not reflected in the data. Once you commit to using Purgatory as a means to explain the existence of ghosts, then you have painted yourself into a corner. To be consistent you would have to say that every ghost was a deceased Christian. That view does not have an ounce of plausibility.  If you mix Purgatory with the death criteria of becoming a ghost (any person can become a ghost given the right conditions), then you are left with a hopeless mess: some people are there because of traumatic death, and others are there suffering Purgatory! Again, official RC dogma does not allow for conversion/salvation in Purgatory--you already have to be a Christian to enter there and non-Christians go immediately to hell. There is no way a person can biblically defend the notion that hell is the paranormal realm.  If it is Purgatory (which it is not) then it can't be hell as well. RC dogma separates the two--one is temporal and the other is eternal; one has only believers in it, and the other (hell) has unbelievers and believers who die with unforgiven mortal sin. No time or need to elaborate on mortal and venal sins in RC theology-except it is repugnant to Scripture.
   
I cannot explain adequately the relief I felt as an 18 yr old young man when I first understood the gospel. In college I learned how the Reformation hinged on the debate about how we are justified before God. The concept of Purgatory is actually a symptom of a deadly disease-the belief that we are saved by faith in Jesus AND our good works. The Reformers restored the purity of the gospel by teaching that we are justified/saved by faith in Christ, plus NOTHING!! No more bb's...no more fear of Purgatory....no more angst about the possibility of becoming a Christian ghost. We are justified by the imputing of Christ's righteousness to us, and not by the infusion of grace. If it were the latter, then we would need to stay in Purgatory for eternity before we were righteous enough in ourselves to merit heaven. In Christ, the Father sees us as perfect; but in ourselves we are still sinners. Every believer is a saint. That is wonderfully good news! Purgatory is a reflection of confusion regarding the nature of justification--which is the heart of the gospel. The righteousness that saves/justifies us is outside of us-it is an alien or extraterrestrial righteousness that resides in Jesus who is in heaven.. He declares us "Not Guilty" and transfers or imputes to our account the perfect 33 years of living that Jesus lived for us. This is not a fictional righteousness--it is the perfect life that Jesus lived for us, and which the Father sees. Hence, the notion of Purgatory is contrary to the core of the gospel. Sure, when we die we are filthy in ourselves, but praise God He views us "in Christ"--union with Christ.
   
Every topic we touched on could have been elaborated on further but I trust this was sufficient to help you see that Purgatory cannot be used to support the notion of ghosts--unless you reinvent the nature of Purgatory. The scars received from taking the Catechism seriously as a boy, give me little patience with the Purgatory tinkering going on today. The problem with having infallible Papal decrees and councils regarding the nature of Purgatory is that they are then irreformable--it can't be changed.... There are many Catholic Christians who love the Lord deeply. What I don't understand is the rush to embrace a doctrine which should unravel you emotionally if you truly take it to heart. It unraveled the heart of a little boy I once knew ...

Issue 52 – Penn State, Predators & Prayers!

PSYCHIC KID PREDATORS’ EXPOSED - INTRODUCTION

For the next several weeks we'll focus on the predators that operated or worked behind the scenes on the program and Facebook pages supporting Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal.

One would have to be stuffed deep into the sand not to have heard of the child sexual abuse scandal at Penn State University. They run one of the great football programs and this fine university was brought to its knees and its reputation forever tarnished by the work of a predator who fed off the trust of others to abuse children and raise money for a charity that he used to supply him with more victims. His status in the Penn State football program blinded people to his actions and he used the program to cover up his misdeeds when he was caught.

The same thing has been happening and continues to happen through various pages that are used to focus people's attention towards Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal and the various para-celebs that were featured on it. Predators come in many shape and sizes, and they feed off people in many ways. You can have:

1 Profit Predators. These are the people who want to take people's money. As they pretend to be light workers, they blind people to their dark side.

2 Spirit Predators. These people have their own spiritual agenda but they know to sell it to others they must wrap it up and dress it up to fool people into buying their message.

3 Fame Predators. Whatever it takes to be famous these people will do.

4 Narcissistic Predators. These people want to be worshipped. They convince their victims that they have a gift and they are the way to open that gift. This leads others to blindly follow.


But none of these predators could operate without having a support staff of enablers, a/k/a blind followers, who are happy to do the bidding of the predators just to share in the limelight [and quite possibly to fulfill their predatory needs as well].

Next week we'll start exposing how these predators operate. Names will be named and secrets will be exposed. One note: before any of these predators start contacting their lawyers not once have I called them sexual predators.
